Sonic unballed himself, catching his breath. On the other side of the grassy hill, Surge glared at him. The hedgehog rubbed his nose before chuckling. "Remember our first fight, Sparky? You, crazy and chaotic.. Me.."
"Making jokes and having the time of your life!?" Surge yelled out. Using her speed, she started to zip around her blue rival. The blue hedgehog just smirked as he located where she would stand, and gave her a kick to the gut, sending her back. Meanwhile, Tails was working on Kit’s backpack, a few upgrades here and there while Kit watched Sonic and Surge battle it out.
A few more minutes passed as the two speedsters started to tire out as the two laid down in the tree shade, panting. “Hey, Kit! Who won the fight?” Sonic asked. The fennec grabbed a little notebook at his side. “Well, you were the last one standing between you two.. So another win for Mr. Sonic.” He said, marking another tally mark with a pencil.
Surge angrily got up and yelled. “What!? How did you win.. Again?!”
“Well, I told you before, I just don’t quit!”
“Whatever! If I can’t beat you, I bet I can beat the brooding one over there!” Surge pointed at Shadow, who was under the shade of a different tree a few feet away. The tenrec walked out into the grassy space as Shadow started to get up. Sonic then jogged over to his dark rival. “Shads, you don’t gotta do this..”
Shadow raised his hand as he faced Surge, who was cracking her joints and bones, ready for a fight. “Come on, come on! Think you can beat me, Edgehog?!”
All Shadow did was crack his knuckles with a small smirk on his face.

While Shadow waved goodbye and skated off, Surge looked at her broken finger. With a strong pull, she fixed it. The tenrec then sat next to Sonic. “Looks like you need a bit more training at HQ, Sparky.” He said with a chuckle. “I mean, you couldn’t beat Metal Sonic without Kit, you couldn’t beat me or Shadow..”
Surge took in the hedgehog’s words as she retorted. “Well, without Tails and his smart head, he wouldn’t have turned off Kit’s water pack. And we all know you can’t do anything in water..” Surge grinned, showing her sharp teeth. “I bet you can be without Tails for a day!”
Sonic thought about the bet. “Hm, well, so I'll take Kit right?”
Of course! Shake on it!” The two speedsters shook hands and told their little plan to the little fox and fennec. With that, Sonic took Kit for a walk while Surge followed Tails towards his home. Sonic walked with the small fennec, holding his hand. The two walked for a while before Sonic saw a familiar purple figure and got close. “Hey there, Big!”
“Oh, hey, Sonic!” Big waved at the hedgehog as he raised his arms as his fishing hook went into the small pond. The hedgehog and fennec sat next to the purple cat as Big pulled out his catch. “Would you like to try?” Sonic shook his head but Kit looked interested. Big then let him borrow a fishing rod. “I can teach you if you want.”
Kit nodded, following Big’s steps.

With his key, Tails opened the door to his workshop/home. Surge went in, taking in the sights of the fox’s home. Spotting a fridge, she pointed her thumb to it with Tails nodding. Grinning, she opened the door and looked though it, throwing items over her head. Picking out a container, she called Tails over. “Hey, fox! What’s this?”
“Oh, that’s chili meat. It’s for Sonic.”
“Wait, all he eats is chili dogs..?”
“Err, yeah, pretty much. Why?”
Surge didn’t respond, as an idea was forming in her mind. "Let's say, I'm going to need your help!"
