Aki was nervous. This is his third date with Angel but this isn’t what he was nervous about. This was his first time leaving his kids alone this long with friends, and they're going to walk around outside together.
He walked to the kitchen to go get a glass of water but as he was pouring someone knocked on the door. He was going to go answer but found Power and Denji toppling over each other to answer the door.
"Who is it?" I asked leaning against the countertop. Power stomped off as Denji let Yoshida through the door. "Hi Mr. Hayakawa, I brought oranges." Aki always thought Yoshida was polite but creepy, "Thanks, you can leave them on the counter."
Denji grabbed Yoshida's arm, "C'mon let's go to my room!" He whined impatiently, dragging Yoshida, "Thanks for having me," was all Aki heard before Denji slammed his bedroom door shut, Ugh that boy.
Aki looked over the counter to see Power groaning into the couch, "She'll be here in a minute, Power. Be patient." Just as Aki finished talking the doorbell rang. Power practically teleported to the door and slammed it open, “HI KOBENI!”
Power flung her friend through the door and shut it, “H-hello Mr. Hayakawa, I brought flowers,” Kobeni always seemed frightened but somehow made friends with Power, "Thank I'll go get a vase for them." Aki took the flowers and got deja vu watch power drag Kobeni to her and Denji's room.
After an hour of cleaning the kitchen it was seven pm, Angel would be arriving at seven thirty. Aki walked to the kids' room and creaked the door open, Denji and Yoshida were playing a card game while Power and Kobeni were drawing, "You guys should start going out side before it's too dark out," They all were startled by his voice except Yoshida, who noticed him opening the door.
"Ok topknot!" Aki rolled his eyes at the comment. everyone got ready at the door, "You guys all have money? Denji, Power, Keys?" They both patted their pockets and looked up expectantly, "They're on the counter." Aki sighed, he really wanted a smoke right now.
The kids grabbed their keys and ran out the door, he heard Kobeni say, "Bye Mr. Hayakawa!" before Power slammed the door shut.
Aki freshened up a bit then heard his doorbell ring, it took his brain a minute to process that Angel was there. Oh shit better not make him wait, Aki speed walked to the door and opened it, "Hey sorry to make you wait, you look good." Angel was wearing a white button up with a grey green sweater on top and some black pants.
"It's fine, you look nice?" He snickered and Aki shut the door behind him, "Oh stop, I don't look that bad do I?" Aki nudged Angel with his elbow. Angel smiled and dodged the subject jokingly, "How are your kids? Do they drain you of you money? I only date rich guys y'know," He said in a fake fancy accent.
"Urgh, don't remind me of them," The taller groaned and tried to focus on what he should order to eat.
Angel looked up at him curiously, "Why did something bad happen?"
"I know this makes me sound like a helicopter parent but my kids and their friends are walking around outside by themselves right now and my mind keeps creating these awful scenarios," Aki confessed to Angel as they arrived at a simple but nice restaurant. "I think it's typical for a parent to think that way but c'mon your only eighteen, lighten up!" Angel tried to motivate Aki but it didn't help.
Throughout the entire date Aki was checking his phone even while eating he looked at it expectantly. Angel was fine with it at first but after a few minutes it got old. Suddenly Aki's face brightened and he put away his phone, "You win the lottery or something?" Angel asked dryly, picking at his food.
"They just arrived home safely. Hey, I'm sorry this has been a bad date," Aki apologized to Angel sorrowfully.
The shorter male looked deep in thought but asked a question so random that Aki had to stifle a giggle, "Do you have any ice cream at home?"
"Yeah, why?"
"What if you took me back to go meet your kids? And then I can eat your ice cream," Angel said the last part in a joking manner but meant it.
"That's a great idea Angel!" Aki payed and they both got on their way back home making vibrant conversation and full of warnings about each of the kids. Once they arrived Aki had one last thing to say before he opened the door, he leaned down close to angel and whispered, "Brace yourself."
After the door clicked open four kids bounded up to them, "Hey Aki how was your date?" "Hey Aki did you bring us something?" "Hey Aki check out what we bought!" "Hey Mr. Hayakawa could you please make us dinner?" "Hey Aki is that your boyfriend?"
Everyone overlapped each other so Aki yelled, "Quiet!"
They all hushed up quickly and let Aki and Angel get through, "Let me serve Angel some ice cream and then I can make something for you guys to eat."
The kids seemed to have left some game on pause on the television while they all sat at the kitchen table with Angel. Aki set a bowl of strawberry ice cream in front of angel with a spoon then left back for the kitchen. He cooked up some simple tofu fried rice and sat at the table with everyone. "So habe chu kissed chet?" Power asked with her mouth open, "Yes Power, now chew with your mouth closed." "Ugh that's so gross," Denji groaned before stuffing his mouth again.
Denji was the first to finish his food ever since Aki took him in, he seemed to eat really fast as if someone were going to take his food away. He showed Aki everything he got, It was some gachapon of his favorite videogame character chainsaw man.
Once everyone was done they went back to their videogame and Aki took Angel to the door, "I enjoyed tonight."
Angel smiled, "Me too. Se you later," Aki pecked Angel's check chastely before Angel left.
Once Angel left Aki sat down on the couch and joined the kid's game.
At 11:00 Aki proclaimed it was time for them to get ready for bed and went to set up futons. After he was done getting the kids and him ready for bed he recapped his day and smiled lightly before grabbing his phone and sending 'Goodnight ♡' to Angel before drifting off.
