Work Text:

Jake stared at the crying toddler in front of his husband, Moon Shingun. Iseul's tear-streaked face tugged at his heartstrings as her tiny body kept trembling. She had been trying non stop to get Shin to carry her since they had stepped out of the car, small arms reaching out for him desperately as she cried loudly.

"Iseul," Jake called out gently, he crouched down to her level. But Iseul seemed determined to ignore him, giving all of her attention to his husband.

He understood her want to be carried, but he also knew that Shin's growing belly made it difficult for him to hold her for a long time.

"Sweetheart," Jake said softly. "Appa can't carry you right now because of the baby in his tummy. But how about we walk together? I'll hold your hand, and we can take small steps, just like big girls do."

Shin gently pried Iseul's face off his legs, wiping away her tears tenderly. "Honey, daddy will get you some ice cream if you walk with him, how does that sound?"

Iseul's tear-stained face turned to Shin. Her lower lip quivered as she weighed her options.

Jake moved closer, placing a comforting hand on Iseul's head, long fingers gently ruffling her hair and he offered her a comforting smile.

With a hesitant nod, Iseul mumbled softly, "Okay."

As they stepped into the supermarket, Jake maintained a firm hold on Iseul's left hand, feeling the warmth of her small fingers nestled within his own. Shin, on the other side, held her right hand securely, their combined grip forming a protective barrier around their precious daughter.

The vibrant displays of colorful products around them were enticing Iseul's curious gaze. The bright packaging and food aromas seemed to catch her attention, momentarily diverting her focus from her earlier tantrum.

Jake stopped walking, "Come on, princess," he said with a smile. "You can walk on my feet. It'll be like we're dancing together."

Iseul's eyes widened with excitement, her tears drying out and he could see her mood lifting up. She hesitantly placed her small feet on top of his sturdy shoes, gripping onto his hands for support.

Jake adjusted his steps, making sure to keep a steady pace that matched her tiny stride. She was swinging back and forth at each step he took, giggling and gasping through her joy.

Shin walked beside them, his eyes sparkling with affection as he watched the father-daughter duo create their own little dance. He reached out, gently squeezing Jake's shoulder, "Ha, you always know how to turn any situation," Shin said.

"Of course," Jake replied arrogantly. "I'm the master of it."

Shin chuckled softly. "Oh, really? The master, huh?"

Jake leaned in, his lips brushing against Shin's ear as he whispered with a hint of smugness, "It's a gift."

"Ugh daddy don't kiss appa." Iseul suddenly said. "I'm the only one allowed to kiss him!!"

They exchanged amused glances as Iseul's interruption brought a smile to their faces.

Jake pretended to be offended.

"What? Only you?" Jake teased, raising an eyebrow. "I guess I'll have to step aside then. The princess has spoken."

Iseul nodded with utmost seriousness, her little face filled with determination. "That's right, daddy. Only me."

Shin couldn't contain his laughter at their daughter's possessiveness. He bent down to her level, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. "Alright, princess. You have exclusive rights to kisses from appa."

Iseul beamed with satisfaction, her arms wrapping tightly around Shin's neck. She looked at Jake mischievously. "But daddy, you can still have kisses from appa, too. Just not on the lips!"

Jake feigned disappointment, "I suppose I can settle for kisses on the cheek then. Lucky me."

Shin smiled, his heart swelling with love for his daughter and husband. He leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Jake's cheek, his lips lingering for a moment. "See, daddy? Appa loves you too," Shin said.

Jake reached out, his hand gently caressing Shin's cheek. "I know it too well," he whispered.

With Iseul still perched atop Jake's feet, they approached a row of shopping trolleys. Jake reached out and effortlessly pulled one free from the line, its wheels gliding smoothly on the polished floor. He positioned it in front of them, offering a secure seat for Iseul.

Shin carefully lifted their daughter off Jake's feet and settled her into the trolley's child seat, making sure she was comfortably situated. Iseul held onto the metal bar in front of her.

"What do we need again?" Shin asked.

Jake glanced down at the shopping list in his hand, scanning the items they needed. "Let's see," he said. "We need milk, bread, eggs, some fresh fruits and vegetables,

Shin nodded. "Alright, let's start with the dairy aisle for the milk."

They maneuvered the trolley through the aisles, footsteps synchronized as they made their way to the dairy section.

As they reached the milk section, they scanned the shelves, comparing brands and sizes. Jake reached out, grabbing a carton of their preferred milk, while Shin picked up a smaller carton of chocolate milk for Iseul.

With the milk secured in the trolley, they moved on to the bread aisle. Shin carefully selected a loaf of fresh bread, his fingers gently squeezing the soft texture. Jake chose a crusty baguette.

Shin's eyes fell upon the crusty baguette in Jake's hand. He made a face, his nose wrinkling in mild distaste. "Ugh, the baguette again?" He commented, his voice filled with playful disdain.

Jake chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Give the baguette a chance, Shingun."

Shin shook his head, crossing his arms. "I'll stick to my fluffy dinner rolls."

"One day I'll find a baguette that will change your mind." Jake said

Shin raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Good luck with that, I'll be waiting."

As they turned into a corner of the supermarket, Shin's eyes caught sight of a colorful apron hanging on a display rack. The apron was adorned with vibrant images of cars, capturing his attention instantly. He reached out and gently picked it up, feeling the soft fabric between his fingers.

He grinned mischievously as he envisioned Jake wearing it, "Hey, Jake," Shin called, holding up the apron for him to see. "I think this apron suits you perfectly."

Jake laughed at the car-themed design, knowing Shin's love for cars. "Really?" He replied, a playful glimmer in his eyes.

Jake slipped the apron over his head, adjusting it around his waist with a playful swagger. The car images adorned his chest, creating a playful contrast with his serious expression.

"Daddy, you look funny!" Iseul said.

Iseul's innocent remark made both Jake and Shin burst into laughter. Jake playfully posed, striking a comical pose with his hands on his hips. "How do I look?" Jake asked.

Iseul giggled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "You're silly, daddy!"

Shin leaned down and ruffled Iseul's hair affectionately. "That's what makes him special, princess."

Jake grinned, playing along with the lighthearted moment. He removed the car-themed apron, folded it neatly and placed it back on the display rack.

"No, we're getting it." Shin said, he tossed the apron into the shopping trolley, causing it to land with a soft thud amidst the groceries.

As Shin tossed the apron into the trolley, Jake leaned in close, his lips brushing against Shin's ear. In a low, teasing tone, he whispered, "I'll make sure to wear it with nothing underneath."

Shin's cheeks flushed with a mixture of surprise and delight at Jake's suggestive remark. He playfully swatted Jake's arm and whispered back, "Behave yourself, we're in public."

"You didn't refuse it." Jake said.

"Maybe I like the idea of you wearing it with nothing underneath," Shin whispered, his voice dripping with seduction. "But we'll save that for when we're back home." He said as he squeezed Jake’s ass firmly.

Jake leaned closer to Shin, his voice husky as he replied, "Oh, you know how to keep a man waiting, don't you?"

Shin smirked, a playful glint in his eyes. "I do enjoy making you squirm," he teased, before releasing his grip and taking a step back, his hand trailing down Jake's arm. "Come on, focus on shopping." Shin said and walked away, leaving Jake behind.

Jake's eyes lingered on Shin, a mix of desire and anticipation building inside of him. He took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "Just you wait, Shingun." he muttered under his breath, voice barely audible.

"At least let me do something." Shin said as he stared at the man unloading their groceries into the car.

"You can do the easy part—organizing the groceries inside the car while I handle the heavy lifting." Jake answered.

He opened the car doors and began arranging the bags, carefully placing them in a way that maximized space and prevented any fragile items from getting damaged. His attention occasionally shifted to Jake, admiring his strength.

Jake effortlessly lifted the heavier items, his muscles flexing as he loaded them into the trunk.

"Daddy, I want to help too." Iseul said.

Jake glanced over at Iseul with a warm smile, appreciating her eagerness to lend a hand. He carefully selected a smaller bag and handed it to her, ensuring it was light and manageable for her tiny frame.

"Sure, princess," Jake replied, his voice filled with affection. "You can help me carry this bag to the car. Just be careful, okay?"

Iseul beamed with excitement, grasping the bag with both hands as if it was a precious treasure. She walked carefully beside Jake, her small steps mirroring him.

Shin watched the scene unfold, a proud smile playing on his lips. He leaned against the car, his gaze filled with adoration for both Jake and Iseul. The sight of them working together, with Jake guiding Iseul and ensuring her safety, warmed his heart.

As they finished placing the groceries in the trunk, Jake knelt down to Iseul's level and ruffled her hair affectionately. "You did a great job, princess," he praised. "Thank you for helping daddy."

Iseul's eyes lit up with joy, her face glowing with pride. "You're welcome, daddy!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

Shin gently lifted Iseul into the car, ensuring her safety as he carefully positioned her in the child car seat. He secured the straps snugly but comfortably, double-checking to make sure everything was properly fastened.

"All set, princess," Shin said with a soft smile, his eyes meeting Iseul's as he leaned in to place a tender kiss on her forehead. "Now you're ready for the ride."

Shin closed the car door, the faint click resonated in the quiet space. He took a moment to straighten his posture and adjust his seat, ensuring his comfort because of his big belly. He smoothly fastened his seatbelt.

Shin spared a glance towards Jake, his eyes filled with affection and a small smile played on his lips. His hand moved instinctively, reaching out to intertwine their fingers. Their hands fit together perfectly, like pieces of a puzzle that were meant to be connected.

"Daddy, you forgot to buy me ice cream." Iseul suddenly said from behind them.
