Work Text:
● Doug was smitten with Evie the minute they met
● Evie became smitten pretty quickly
● When they started dating, Evie was nervous to meet Doug's family; turns out they just loved Evie, and she brags that they like her more than Doug
● Doug proposed after Evie's first fashion show
● While she would've married him with a paper ring, Evie didn't mind the five carat ruby in eighteen carat gold ring he did propose with
● Evie designed her own wedding dress, because she said only the best will do
● They honeymooned in Scotland, since it was Evie's favorite place in the world
● Doug was freezing the whole time, but seeing Evie so happy made it all worth it
● When Evie found out she was pregnant, she couldn't stop crying from both her fear and happiness
● When she told Doug, he immediately lit up and actually ran around the house in pure excitement
● Evie was very scared to be a mother, but Doug was more than happy to assuage her worries
● Doug fainted when he and Evie found out they were having twins
● Evie made all her own baby clothes, because she, quote, "wanted her babies to be fashionable"
● Evie had the longest labor of her friends, with it taking fifteen hours for her twins to make their appearance
● Evie broke Doug's finger, due to an allergic reaction to the epidural
● Even though Evie rarely went without makeup, she was in too much pain and panic to put any on before or while she was in labor; Doug told her she never looked more beautiful
● When Evie held her son for the first time, he grabbed onto her finger and smiled; Evie cried immediately
● When Evie said she wanted to name the girl, Doug responded that he had a name picked out for the boy; Doug picked Evan, after his mother; Evie, meanwhile, picked the name Diana, after her father
● Evie was the most doting mother you could think of, just not in the same way her mother was; she cared that her babies were happy, healthy, and safe
● Evie has the twins' first photo shoot framed in the living room, so everyone could see how proud she was of her babies
● When they were learning to crawl, Evan would always crawl towards his father, whilst Diana crawled towards her mother
● Of her friends' children, Evan and Diana met Hailey first
● Diana's favorite person was her cousin, Julianna, who'd she sometimes call by her Arabic name, Leila; Evan's favorite, meanwhile, was his uncle Jay
● Doug was constantly snapping pictures of his wife and children; his favorite of these being one of Evan and Evie when the former was six months old; Evan was asleep on his mother's chest, and Evie is looking at him with such love in her eyes
● For a span of two months, Diana would only fall asleep if she was sleeping between her parents
● Evan was beyond excited to finally get a boy cousin, his cousin Shane
● Diana has her mother's blue hair and her father's blue eyes, whereas Evan has his father's blond(ish) hair and his mother's brown eyes
● Evan always felt inferior to his sister, since so many people told her she was just as beautiful as their mother
● Evie always tried her best to validate her children's emotions, particularly Evan's inferiority complex
● When the twins were little, Evie considered more children, but then realized her twin terrors were enough
● Evan and Diana would always go to sleep with their parents if they woke up at night
● Evie would sing to her children in Spanish to get them to go to sleep
● Evie had to leave the room when the twins started asking about her mother; before he went to talk his wife down, Doug explained to Evan and Diana how the Evil Queen was, and that their mom doesn't like to talk about her
● Evie's favorite picture of her children comes from when they visited the dwarves mine; Evan had gems over his eyes, making it look like he had many eyes, while Diana held a sapphire that was bigger than her two hands
● Evan and Diana grew up knowing they were loved
● Evie might have gone sixteen years without love, but she never went without it with Doug
