Summary
Kel stares at her now, eyes half-lidded and lightly panting—his breath reeks of alcohol and leftover pizza. He’s clearly winded from partying so much. Aubrey doesn’t blame him, the people here are high off the intensity. She feels the edge of the sink uncomfortably digging into her back as Kel towers over her.
“Aubrey…” He exhales. If he were any quieter, he would’ve been drowned in the sound of the muffled techno music being blasted through the house. She can’t help but feel enraptured by the way his lips form her name, staring at them before she can think—before she can even stop herself.
Aubrey has made many mistakes, more than she can count. Since she was born, she was deemed a mistake. A little mistake making littler mistakes in her wake. Oh, and Aubrey has made so many mistakes.
What’s the harm in making a few more?
