Work Text:
Natalia and Camilo were running around in Casita's first floor. Normally, the house would just make the twins run on moving tiles to tire them out. But the two of them had just gotten their gifts two days ago and Casita didn't want to be frozen in a fit of Natalia's rage... again.
Natalia laughed as she tried to slide on an icy expanse, but she just kept slipping. She got a few bruises as a result, but it would take much more than that to make the girl stop having fun.
Next to his sister, Camilo was shifting into new people every second. It used up a lot of energy, so he had to eat more now. But his gift was fun, just like his sister's.
The five-year-old was just about to shift into Mirabel, as Natalia suddenly turned to him with a mischievous smile on her face.
Camilo paused. He knew that look. It was an expression only he and his sister could do, and it looked exactly the same on each of their faces.
"What are you planning?" he asked, starting to smile as well.
"I just got an idea. You know how Mami always gives us piggyback rides?" Natalia started.
Camilo grinned widely, nodding. How could he forget that? The piggyback rides from his Mami were one of his favorite things in the world! Before it came only his stuffed chameleon toy, Arepas, shifting into people and having fun with his sister.
"How about you shift into Mami and give me a piggyback ride down to the kitchen and we get a snack?" Natalia suggested.
"Yeah, sounds funny!" Camilo agreed. He could really use some food right about now. He was so hungry, he even started to feel a little dizzy because of it.
The little boy concentrated and closed his eyes, as he had never shifted into a person much bigger than himself. A few seconds later, he felt himself grow. He opened his eyes to check if he really succeeded.
He looked down onto the ground and it was... really far below him. He was used to piggyback rides and being a little higher up than his usal size, but this was completely different.
The dizziness inside him tenfolded in the span of about two seconds, leaving Camilo lightheaded. The ground underneath him got blurry, his (his Mami's?) knees wobbled.
Oh my god..." was the last thing he mumbled before he fell to the ground, fainting.

Natalia had turned around again to look at her new door, waiting for her brother to shift. But she spinned right around again as she suddenly heard a thud.
Natalia's eyes widened as they took in Camilo, laying on the ground in front of her.
"Milo?" she approached, kneeling down next to her brother and shaking him gently. He didn't respond.
"Milo!" she said louder, shaking him harder.
"TIA HELP!!! CAMILO PASSED OUT!" she screamed after a few more seconds of hesitation.
The girl felt her brother move slightly under her hand.
"Mmmm" he grumbled, his face scrunching up in uncomfort.
"Aye Milo, are you okay?" Natalia asked him in a frenzy. Her brother nodded. She sighed in relief, helping Camilo sit up and lean against her chest.
"Dios mio, what happened?" Julieta asked worriedly as she came running up the stairs with two arepas and a glass of water for Camilo in her hands.
"I don't know, I just suggested that he shifts into Mama and gives me a piggyback ride, just like she always does! But then he passed out!" Natalia told her aunt.
"I felt a little strained before I shifted into Mami. And then I got very dizzy when I shifted into her as the ground was so far below me." Camilo explained.
Julieta thought for a second. "I think you got circulatory problems because your mother is so much taller than you. Shifting into her made your blood fall into your legs because you were a little exhausted anyways and left your brain with not enough oxygen." she said. Camilo just nodded, thankfully accepting the glass of water and the arepas as his aunt gave those to him.
"How are you feeling now?" Natalia asked when her brother finished the food.
"Better, but I'm tired now." Camilo responded.
"Alright then, I think it's the best if you just take a little nap." Julueta suggested. Camilo nodded again, allowing Julieta to pick him up.
Wow, Natalia thought, he must be really tired if he's not resisting naptime.
