Chapter Text
Shoto woke up in an unfamiliar place, trying to process what was going on, he scanned the room. First off, the futton he was sleeping last night turned into a Queen sized bed instead. Second, the decor was very European style rather than the simple Japanese room he's accustomed to. At first he thought he was in Yaoyorozu's room but that wasn't the case. He sat on his bed, still half asleep. He should've known if he was kidnapped or not, he was a light sleeper and the school's security is strict so no one can just go in and out as easy as that, so what happened last night? How did he get here and why didn't he noticed anything strange when he slept? A knock suddenly rang on the door and the voice was a bit muffled but he can still hear it.
"Young master, are you awake? It's time for your breakfast... M- may I come in?"
Shoto didn't know who this person was but he couldn't just leave them be. He stood up and open the door to see a person in a maid outfit holding a tray of food. She was shocked at his sudden appearance. She didn't think he would opened it and started to become jittery.
"Y- young master, you didn't have to open it for me. " She said shakily. Shoto stood there, looking at her, the moment he saw her, he finally realized something. Yesterday at lunch when he listened to Urarakas conversation about a novel she was reading, the events happening at the start of the novel felt like he was experiencing it as well....But that's a bit too much isn't it? Isn't it there a trend where a person got transmigrated into a novel they've read and they have to complete the story before they could go back to their own world? But he didn't read the novel and he didn't die aswell so why was he here? Right now he was curious if the story would follow the same as the novel but with a few changes here and there. He recalled that In the novel there were two main characters. One was the protagonist, the unnamed princess and the male lead, which was the knight she saved, the story would start as the princess woke up and the events of the story would continue after that.
'i'll have to find the princess first, maybe through her I can advance the story even further.'
As Shoto looked at the maid expressionlessly, her face went uglier and uglier by the minute, her pale complexion could be described could be described as a ghost, all the maids seeing this scene took a step back, afraid of what will happen next.
Fortunately, Shoto finally came back to his senses and saw the situation. The maid he saw looking normal moments ago looks like they saw a monster right in front of them, did something happened?
"Young Master, I'm so sorry!" The maid suddenly bowed, she wanted to get out of this situation as fast as possible so she made up an apology "It was my fault, I shouldn't have knocked very early in the morning I should've waited a bit longer until you're fully awake, I know that you're very busy and I wouldn't want to disturb you–" That excuse was absolutely stupid and nonsensical yet she didn't want to put any blame on her master in fear that her job would end it there. She bowed three times, not looking at him for even a moment, it was a sorry sight to behold. Shoto couldn't just stand there and do nothing so he stopped her, shaking his head "Miss, you have nothing to apologize, my mind was wondering elsewhere and I couldn't respond quickly, please don't blame yourself." he whispered, picking her up slowly. The maid wiped her tears. "I was overreacting, I'm sorry!" She took the tray of food from the maid beside her and put it on the table in his room. She half bowed, closed the door slowly and hurriedly took her leave.
Shoto looked at the tray of food that had been placed beautifully and thought. 'this was definitely the novel Uraraka was talking about.' He recalled the plot of the novel. He knew that the novel had a cliche romance novel with a bit of a tragedy at the end. He didn't know where to begin, and was still processing everything that happened, Shoto drank the tea in the platter since he didn't have much of an appetite and went out of his room. He needed some clues, so he asked the maids if he could speak to his "parents".
The maids face processing his question had an undescribable expression, it felt like the world was ending as he was saying that. The maid finally went back to reality and told him that they were in the dining hall. Shoto awkwardly nodded and went to the dining hall as she instructed. Were the maids afraid of him? The fact that he just ate in his room and not with his family is already unusual, was this body not close with his parents? Why is that? He walked to the dining hall and open the door. Two faces which he didn't he believed would be together were sitting beside each other.. It was his mother and father. The two at the hall looked at him in bewilderment, they called his name in unison, there tones wary and confused. The atmosphere started to get tensed out of nowhere and Shoto didn't know how to react. He didn't think his real parents would also be here, did they got transmigrated here too? But with the way they're acting towards each other doesn't seem to be that way? Due to the awkward situation going on in the room, The father who looked like Enji made a fake cough and started the conversation. "Shoto, is there anything you need?" His voice was like his father but his personality was far from him. This version of his father seems to be awkward and timid towards of him, same as his mother. It seems that in this version of the novel his parents were here but not by soul. He wanted to confirm if his siblings were here aswell but he couldn't see them in the room, so he decided to join and dine in with them to confirm it.
"uhh, where is Natsuo and Fuyumi? Are they also eating in their rooms?" Shoto scratched his head, indicating his confusion. The two looked at each other with bewilderment "Natsuo, Fuyumi?" Rei repeated those names again, trying to remember but nothing comes in mind.
"Did you get hit in the head while you were training? But he said you were alright yesterday..."
He was just asking where his siblings are. Do they not exist? And who's the "he" they're talking about?" before Shoto could ask, a person suddenly opened the door abruptly, this person was tall, so tall Shoto had to stretch his neck to get a look at the persons face, but the person didn't notice him instead he kept running until he he reached his father.
"My Lord, there's a letter sent from the Emperor!"
"What?! Where is it? Give it to me!" The mysterious person hands the letter to Enji and stand beside him, waiting for his response. That tall mysterious person was none other than Inasa Yoarashi, who he had fought in the hero licensing exam and became friendly acquaintances after remedial. Shoto didn't expect Inasa to appear at all, He seems to be out of place since they were technically not that close even after the remedial exams. As he focused his attention to him, Inasa finally noticed and looked at him, his eyes curved slightly and smiled softly. For the first time Shoto, didn't know how to react.
