Kagome’s gaze was unable to leave InuYasha’s hand, and how it was now resting on her leg. The touch had come naturally, incredibly so, for them who had known each other for so long; yet, Kagome also noted how her heart began to race. That was the first time, since her return, that those strong hands, armed with claws that could rend with a touch, were reaching for her as if trying to transmit an emotion InuYasha kept hidden, deep inside his soul. Kagome’s gaze rose, as she rested her own hand on his. InuYasha met her eyes then, and in them she read all of his unspoken words.
