Wendy’s touch is gentle as she smooths the last of the makeup against Charlotte’s cheek, smiling at the sight of the perfect rainbow heart on her girlfriend’s cheek, kissing her gently before shifting to stand and offer Charlotte her hand.
“Let’s go show you off, Darling.”
It's crowded here, but Wendy doesn’t feel any of it, focused purely on the pleasure of showing off Charlotte, her Charlotte, who trusts her enough to take her hand and emerge into the Pride party without shame. Later of course the rainbow heart will become smudged, the warmth of the club making the makeup run, but for now, for now it’s enough to be here, like this.
