He recognizes the scent of petrichor, of course; it's hard to live for a century and a half and not know what rain smells like, even on a desert planet. It helps that he’s his own walking barometer too, though.
He really needs to find somewhere safe to hunker down until it passes, because he can already tell by the ache in his bones that it’s going to be a big one. He has a day or so to get settled before the change in pressure kicks his feet out from under him; he doesn’t want Meryl or Wolfwood to get hurt because the pulsing agony under his skin made him too slow to protect them.
