    A dragon settles next to him. He’s a dark red, and it looks like there is fire unfolding on his skin. A dark scar of bright fire runs down one side, and a white one that looks like a shock of ice.

    “Hi! Are you my spirit guide?” Aang asks. He’s pretty sure Appa’s his animal, but maybe he has another one in the spirit world. It’s not like anybody really tells him this stuff.

    The dragon just growls.
