Hunk walks into the kitchen as Keith serves himself a plate that he had just finished cooking.
“Hey, that smells pretty good!” Hunk drooled a little.
“Thanks,” Keith replied, “that means a lot coming from you. There’s plenty left if you want a plate. ”
“Ooh don’t mind if I do!” Hunk grabbed a generous portion, he knew that was how to compliment another chef.
Lance was next to walk into the kitchen, “Hey, watcha guys eatin’?”
“This!” Hunk tossed a plate to Lance.
Lance took a bite, “It tastes awesome as usual, Hunk.”
“Actually,” Hunk corrected, “Keith made this.”
Lance stared wide eyed at Keith, then the plate, “KEITH made THIS? I didn’t know you can cook!”
“…Why did you think I couldn’t cook?” Keith was genuinely confused. “It’s not like a fancy restaurant meal or anything, but yeah, I can cook.”
“Pidge!” Lance called when he saw Pidge about to pass the kitchen. “You have to try this!”
Lance fed Pidge a mouthful before Pidge could ask what it was. “Keith made this!” Lance yelled again.
“Whoa, I didn’t know you can cook, Keith.” Pidge meant it as a compliment.
“Really? Why does everybody think I can’t cook?”
“Well… because… well, you know, ” again, Pidge was trying to be polite.
“Hey everyone, what’s going on in here?” Shiro asked as he walked into the kitchen.
“Keith can cook!” Hunk, Lance, and Pidge yelled at once.
“That’s great, Keith. Cooking is an important skill to have, I’m proud of you,” Shiro said as he went to grab a plate.
Keith groaned, “This is ridiculous, I’m out of here,” then stormed out of the kitchen.
“Wow, who knew Keith could cook?” Pidge wondered out loud.
Without looking up from his plate, Shiro replied, “I did,” in between bites. “I taught him.”
