"You ok?" Keith asks, stepping slowly into the room. Grabbing the nearest chair, he slides it beside Lance, hands over the bouquet, then drops into it backward like a degenerate, arms folded over the back.
Lance nods, albeit a little sleepy, a little too zoned out for comfort. "Pretty..."
A soft laugh slips out of Keith before he asks, "Doctors got you on the good stuff, huh?"
Lance develops appendicitis, and Keith is a very patient boyfriend.

They were all gathered at Hunk’s restaurant for Keith’s birthday. Well…almost all of them. Someone hadn’t bothered to show up. Keith’s latest but longest lasting boyfriend so far, Troy. Troy was what Lance would describe as the worst person he’d ever met. And he’d met a lot of bad people... considering he’d fought in an intergalactic space war against Zarkon himself. The only thing was… Lance’s Top Ten Worst People He’d Ever Met were all Keith’s past boyfriends. His current boyfriend made the top spot by a long shot though. The guy was terrible. Cocky, arrogant, inconsiderate and generally just an absolute jerk.

“So wait, does that mean Bob is real?” Lance laughed, almost delirious, “That was real”
He tried to rationalise this. He tried his best - the best he could -, but he was grasping at straws. Keith had voted for him to be let go- Keith had wanted him to be free - okay, whatever, he couldn’t exactly feel flattered by that, when Keith only wanted Lance to go free so he didn’t have to be around him.
Lance had long since accepted that nothing like that would ever happen between them. It was honestly a fact of life at this point. Lance was annoying, Lance was obnoxious, Lance was loud - immature, arrogant, confrontational, anything else you can name, that was probably him.
But Lance had liked becoming friends with him. At least Lance thought they were friends. Now he wasn’t so sure.
They were friends, right?
