Summary
After the battle of Helm’s Deep, word reaches Legolas that Mirkwood and Erebor are both under threat from the Easterlings. Though it pains them, Legolas and Gimli decide to leave the fellowship to return to defend their homeland in the battle for the north. Meanwhile, Drizzt and Entreri are on their way home from Menzoberranzan to prepare for the civil war initiated by Yvonnel and Quenthel when they find themselves in Mirkwood cut off from Faerun. But many of their enemies were transported with them and now find themselves with new opportunities in Middle Earth.
