Chapter Text
Winter had finally concluded as spring begun to blossom.
At the top of the peak, sat a lonesome figure next to a lone tree. The lone figure had carried a stick in the palm of their hand; scratching at the dirt ground with the object in their hand with lazy, undefined movements.
This lone figure, had been of course, Stelle. Who was in the midst of creating little drawings of people she knew, which included of March, Dan Heng, Himeko and Welt.
However, out of all of her drawings, the one who she drew the most was of her brother Caelus, the idiot that she’d miss the most since his departure from the Sect.
It’d been 3 years since he had left, 3 years since she’s seen her dumb brother, and 3 years since he’d taken a part of her with him.
The stick in her hand stiffens as Stelle picked up the faint footsteps coming her way, which she soon discerns as Marchs.
Her hold on the stick loosens, unbothering to look up at March, Stelle continues to make her little drawings.
“I hope you know that there was a reason why I came here alone.”
The footsteps paused, as if hesitant to approach Stelle.
Stelle raised a brow, had she have heard that little bell that March carried on her person everywhere, she would’ve thought that the person before her was Dan Heng.
”March if you have something to say, just say it.” Stelle sighed as she glanced at the unusually quiet girl before her. “Did you burn something in the kitchen again?”
“Caelus-“
Stelle paused, before a small smile makes its her to her lips.
So had her brother sent back something this time that even shook March to the core.
Stelle snorted as she threw the stick away and got up. “So he finally decided to send another letter to the Sect after so long.” It’d actually been a good few months. “Don’t tell me he sent us another one of those weird items he calls gifts?”
Her brother had always been the weirder one out of the two, especially when it came to what he decided to send back to the Sect, whether it be a stick he found while in the Northern Region or a ribbon from the Central Region, he’d always manage to send back the most absurd thing back to them.
Stelle could only shake her head, about to ask another question when she hears March quietly sniffle in front of her.
Her head snaps up to the latter, astonishment filled her gaze as she saw the usually bubbly girl desperately holding back sobs with red tinged eyes.
Stelles brows furrow at the sight.”March, what’s wrong?” She asked as she walked towards the sniffling girl with an outreached hand.
”C-C-C-Caelus“ Her hand stops midway, as Stelle watches with widened eyes at how much tears begin to flow endlessly down on Marchs face.
”C-Caelus-“
”-is dead.”

Bang!
A small thud rung across the room, the shock that had built up in Caelus could no longer be contained contained and begun to overflow. He stared at the book on his desk with dumbfoundedly.
He’d die? Just like that?!
Many questions were racing through Caelus’ mind at the moment.
Just how could a character like Caelus die off to a lowly demonic beast like that?
Wasn’t he in at least Early-stage Core Formation when he’d disappear from the storyline?
Could he just die like that?
And just what had been the authors thought process in handling a character like that?
If the author were here, one could only imagine just how much Caelus wanted to grab the others collar and shake them back and forth with all these questions.
And how more importantly-
”How can this be the most stupidest death I’ve ever read?” He said with a wrinkled nose, giving the book a gloomy look as he lamented the loss of the character who shared his name.
While Caelus could understand that this was another point for Stelle, the main protagonist; to have more character development in the story, there were still many ways that that could have been handled, and how Caelus’ death could be handled.
Actually, he didn’t even understand why Caelus needed to die!
With Caelus travelling the world for enlightenment, the author could have simply just left him at that, a carefree man who spent the rest of his days leisurely travelling and such.
But what was this bullshit that he’d die to a demonic beast?
Gone was the admiration for the author and the story, replaced fully with newfound irritation that the author simply didn’t know what to do with the Caelus character and just
This was the epitome of lazy writing.
The grief in his heart increased tenfold, it was too tragic that the Caelus in the book had died due to lazy writing and the incompetence of the writer.
And that demonic beast.
Caelus’ eye twitches imperceptibly, as the text ran through his mind once more.
Forget it.
If he got that angry over a few words then he might actually just spit out a mouthful a blood.
And that was too much to deal with.
With a sigh, Caelus got up from his desk and gave the novel one last look.
Since the main interest for reading this book had died, then he no longer had a point to continue on.
Caelus sighed once again, tiredly dragging his body towards his bed with a gloomy atmosphere surrounding him.
He couldn’t really help it, the days he’d spent on the novel became completely wasted, and now he had not much time left to finish off his project that was due at the end of the week.
Caelus could practically hear the nagging of his professor in his ears.
And his grief increased a thousand fold.
With a plop, Caelus face plants onto his bed, a muffled groan leaving his lips.
He really wished he could change the Caelus’ fate in the novel.
Or that he hadn’t read the book.
As the minutes ticked by and Caelus’ turmoil began to settle down, the ashen-hair man slowly drifted off to sleep.
