Summary
Regulus has to be at a charity gala with all of the stuck up, bigotted and rich people he grew up around and he hates it so he walks down the hall to take a break and finds James Potter, his brother's best friend, who he hasn't spoken to in years. James runs the charity the night is for so he doesn't know any of the guests except Regulus Black who walks in on him preparing his speech. After just a short conversation James realizes that his teenage crush on his best friend's brother is still going strong and somehow ends up suggesting that they spend the evening pretending to date (for Regulus's benefit, of course) and then they can go back to never seeing each other again. Except, fake dating, even for a night is never a good idea if you don't want to fall in love and especially if you already are.
Loosely inspired by the How I Met Your Mother episode when Ted and Victoria meet at that wedding. I watched that the other day and was like, "what if this was Jegulus?" and here we are.
