Work Text:

She was surrounded by wolves with no way to escape. She would have to fight them. Fight the people she had been calling her family. She put the flower bracelet back around her wrist, still wanting to believe that Margot was her real sister, although she was currently standing by her parents' side in front of her. Jolene sniffled sadly, looking up at them with broken eyes.

"B-but... You said we were a pack?" she spoke up, her voice shaky and tiny.

She didn't care about wiping her tears away, because they would not stop falling.

She looked at Margot, remember all of the times the other girl had told her that they would be together forever, and that she was a part of their family. Suddenly, none of that was true according to their parents.

Margot looked at Jolene with worry and confusion in her eyes before she turned her head up to look at her mother. She didn't want to hurt Jolene, they were sisters after all. She didn't know what to do...

Her mother had apparently made the decision for her as she gestured for Margot what to say to her adoptive sister. Margot knew what was expected of her now, and she didn't like it one bit. Still, she didn't want to disobey her parents. The chance was bug that she and Jolene would not make it out alive. Margot felt overwhelmed with guilt, becusee she would hurt someone no matter what she chose. But in the end, she knew what was right.

Taking a deep breath, she looked back at Jolene.

"You're a human, I'm a wolf," she started, seeing the way Jolene's heart broke at her words, "but we're still sisters."

Margot's words had everyone shocked, even Jolene. Margot walked up to her, standing by her side as she gave her sister a gentle smile. Jolene returned it before the both of them looked at their former parents with determination apparent on their faces.

Whatever happened next, Jolene knew that she at least had her sister to count on.
