Summary
The surface has never been the same since monster emerged.
The humans weren’t prepared for the attack and were quickly brought to their knees.
Those closest to the barrier when it collapsed were either killed by the shockwave or were unlucky enough to survive and become feral beasts.
The humans farther out were irreversibly altered. Some grew gnarled horns. Some sprouted animal like tails and fur. Some grew massive fangs and deadly claws.
