The air is salty and cold, the first rays of the sun not yet peeking over the horizon after all; in contrast, the cup of tea in his hands boils so hot it almost hurts, and though the blanket on his back barely manages to fight the morning wind to keep him from freezing, Cale Henituse couldn't care less.
No, to be exact, he doesn't care because Kim Rok Soo is next to him, twice as covered up and nowhere near falling asleep.
“Thank you for joining me so early.”
He waits a few seconds, watching his best friend blink distractedly in the direction of the beach before the words seem to reach his brain, “Oh, it's fine, that's fine.”
Cale giggles, yeah, that's fine, they're okay, and life is good like that.
