Work Text:

Jimmy, the canary.
He's has no one to take care of his wings in forever and his wings itching in places he had no clue could each. Maybe the dirth of their bread bridge wasn't really helping with that.
But he kept that for himself. He wasn't being obvious after all right? He would just deal with it later and-

"Jimmy, are you okay?" The ant asked, almost laughing.

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm okay, i don't know what you mean."

"Your wings are flapping mate."

The canary's face flushed in a matter of milliseconds, embarrassed. He wasn't aware they were, surely instincts, but he still felt ashamed.

"Did you manage some dirt to get in your wings, Tim?" This time the other avian called, much less playful than the ant but he could tell he wanted to laugh as well.

"And what about it?!" He responded aggressively and he didn't really know why. He never had to learn how to take care of them since he always got someone else close enough to help him when that happened but now...

"Sit down Tim, let's get your wings cleaned."

"I'm- Wait, really?" Jimmy chirped incredulous, but exited at te same time as Grian got closet to him and practically forced him yo sit down at the border of the bridge. If he wasn't itching and didn't trust Grian, he would have guessed this was a plan to kill him

"Our wings aren't big enough to fly but that shouldn't be a reason for you to be uncomfortable. This is not an excuse to get to take this day off" the other avian explained, making Jimmy feel a wave of warmness feel his whole body. He smiled.

"Al right you birds go and have your bounding preening or whatever I'm going to steal more seeds from the clockers" Joel pouted, making the two avians laugh.

He had forgotten how nice it felt for someone to worry about him.
