Chapter 1: A Break-In, a Punishment and a Broken Promise

Chapter Text

The void that is ~Between Worlds~

The place is beautiful. And somewhat calming. No wonder Miku spends her time here.

Saki and Tsukasa had just found out how to get into it themselves. And they were not disappointed. The void was a perfect place to sit and think. Or stalk people.

"Hello~!" Saki called, testing the echo. "Does this place go on forever? This is so cool! How many SEKAIs are there, anyway?"

"Saki, don't mess with Miku's stuff. Although.... I do want to check this out. I AM A STAR!!" Tsukasa joined in.

"I swear to Miku, you guys." Miku scolded, appearing seemingly out of nowhere behind the two.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH" Tsukasa screamed, startled.

"Please don't punish us! We were just having fun!" Saki begged.

Miku sighed, "H-how did you two even get here? Only me and The Player can go Between Worlds. Never mind. I'm sorry you two, but it's only fitting you recieve punishment for your crimes."

Miku held out her twintail and had it start to glow. Focusing on the siblings, she let out a huge zap and lesft nothing behind but plushies resembling them.

She picks up the Saki plushie and squeezes it, "Hm, how cute. ♡ But I can't leave these lying around for Player to see."

Miku pushes past the glowing orbs of various sparkling worlds, only to find the darkest of all of them. This'll be perfect.

She focused her energies into that one orb, having it extend and open into an empty room. Miku herself had never entered this room, and only now the thought crossed her mind.

Miku scooped up Saki and Tsukasa and entered the dark room. She expected a cold, unsettling mood but in reality, Miku was met with a warm air and a sense of accomplishment.

She threw Saki and Tsukasa in and sighed in relief. "Well, it seems I do have free time."

Opening a hidden doorway inside the room, Miku figured that it was best not to starve her curiosity at that point.

◇◇◇

Minori had been practicing for an hour.

You'd think that it was out of her extreme dedication to become an idol, she'd practice so much. But that was only part of the question.

Minori was waiting for someone. The girl she loved. She was waiting for Haruka to arrive so she could tell her some news.

"You're doing amazing, Minori"

Minori froze mid-spin and flushed completely red. Slowly, she turned to see Haruka cheering her on

"H-Haruka! What- what are you doing here! I-I- yeah!!" Minori stuttered, ditzy as usual

"I was thinking of practicing myself." Haruka smiled, overlooking Minori's embarrassment.

"What if we practiced together? Would she want that? But she's so cool and I'd only drag her down! No. Don't underestimate yourself. More, More, wait i needed to say something." Minori pondered

Frantically hopping around, trying to remember what it is, she eventually breathed in to calm herself down.

"Haruka, I have a gift for you!!"

"You do?"

"Yeah, I need to show you!"

Minori took Haruka's hand, heart racing and dragged her to a place unknown.

A Place Between Worlds

Look, Haruka!

Haruka stepped inside the white void illuminated in colourful triangles and glowing orbs.

Every orb dazzled with a different SEKAI.

"Where is this? How did you get here?" Haruka gasped in amazement, holding the orb for the Stage SEKAI.

But Minori was disappointed. Where is Miku?

"Are you... ok, Minori?" She asked

"Miku's meant to be here! Where is she! She promised she'd be here!"

"It's ok. Look around, we can use basically anything here to find her."

Haruka picked up an orb of the Real World and scanned through it. After a bit of scrolling and looking, she dropped the orb in surprise.

"What is it, Haruka?" Minori inquired, picking up the orb.

"There's some kind of glowing crack near RAD WEEKEND. I don't know what that's meant to mean!"

"Well, I guess there's only one way to find out."

The two left Between Worlds and ran their way to RAD WEEKEND.

"Minori? Haruka? W-What are idols doing in a cafe like this? An gasped at the two shot through the door.

"It's not important. We just saw something at your cafe..."

As Haruka kept An busy with her talking, Minori went over to investigate the crack.

As she went in, things around her darkened. Everything was pitch black. Minori had to take a few seconds to process what was even happening.

After feeling abound for a while, her hand hit something soft. And squishy. Are those the plushies Miku promised me?

It was too dark for Minori to safely locate the exit, so all she could do was stand in fear, holding the plushie as she tries to think of something.

Within all the darkness, was something warbling. A peach glow, and a familiar face.

"Who... who is it..!" Minori yelled.

Just as soon as she recognised that face, it was too late.

"Miku!? What are you- AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!"

Miku held up the charms like lanterns to see what was left of her. And surely enough, it was a plushie.
