Summary
Still, the image couldn’t seem to leave her mind. Her brain replaced the art on the lovers card of two people in a tight embrace with them embracing the same way. All through the past two semesters, she diluted herself to believe she was able to suppress all that, despite the way he looked at her during their study sessions. He was always there, smiling, offering her anything she would take.
But she held back. She had a mission, she had her mind elsewhere, she could be busy with that, and not acknowledge her own heart beating like it has been repeatedly shocked by lightning whenever they were left alone, closely huddled over books. Now, she was done for the semester, her fate was out of her hands. There was no more distractions from how much she yearned for him.
