Love, Charlie

Summary:

The spin-off series to my marlie art school AU "Watercolor" in which Charlie sends letters to Michael detailing how life has been back home. These are those letters.

Strongly suggest you read Watercolor first!

Notes:

Hello and welcome to the self indulgent spin off to Watercolor! I wanted to write more of Charlie's perspective while Mike was away at college and wrote the letters she sent to Michael, then conveniently forgot to post them. I wasn't sure if anyone would really be interested in reading these but if you do happen to read and enjoy them, please let me know with a comment! Not sure how many parts there will be to this but I hope you like whatever ends up coming out of this!

Chapter 1: September 27th, 1987

Chapter Text

September 27th, 1987
Mike,

How’s school going? Dad has been teaching me more about engineering and mechanics, since I can’t afford to go to college I’m just kinda learning from him. You’re so lucky already knowing what career you want to have, meanwhile I’m stuck here trying to figure out my own. The pizzeria is doing well though, a lot of the younger teens in high school have been picking up jobs there to make some money and I come in occasionally when Dad needs help with repairs. I think Foxy is still the fan favorite you’ll be happy to know, kids seem to like the pirate backstory he has.

Your dad’s been happy with business so far, he’s always trying to make the best improvements to the animatronics and such. Lizzie and Evan have been begging to hang out with me like every weekend haha, it’s like with you gone I have to be the stand-in older sibling (just kidding). Also, I found my Dad’s polaroid camera so we took some pics to send you, I hope they survived the mail! Let me know if you got them!

What have you been painting recently? I didn’t think I’d miss seeing your art as much as I miss seeing your stupid(ly handsome) face but somehow I do, I find myself staring at the portrait you gave me at least once a day. I hung it up in my bedroom by the way, did I tell you that yet? It’s right above my record player, I thought it was fitting to put it there.

I miss you a lot Mike, it’s been kinda boring around here without you. Maybe I need to try getting out of here for a little while too, if I was any good at art I’d come join you at your school. I could always send in my refrigerator drawings Dad has kept up after all these years, that’s some of my finest work. Thoughts?

Write back to me soon, and by the way Liz and Evan asked for you to say hi to them when you reply to me. I don’t know why they can’t just write their own letters, they know how to. Kids are weird.

Love,
Charlie
