Summary
As a woman in the Sacred 28, Cecily learned that her desires were meaningless. As a wife, she learned her happiness was unimportant. As a mother, she learned her usefulness was expired. As a widow, she learned she could start again.
It's been two years since Cecily's husband and son were killed, Dumbledore showed up at her door personally inviting her daughter to Hogwarts, and she started her position as Professor of Magical Theory. She can't help but feel that the recent escape of Sirius Black from Azkaban has something to do with her son's death.
And what about Remus Lupin's return to Hogwarts as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor? Cecily had learned long ago that he couldn't be trusted-at least, not with her heart. Can that trust be rebuilt in time to save what's left of her family from the darkness?
This will be a long fic that spans books 3 to 7.
