Summary
The kingdoms of Jonquil and Cerulean have always been allies and trading partners. But imperial ambitions in the east have led many small countries to formalize the agreements that had kept the peace for hundreds of years - some going as far as to combine into larger kingdoms through alliance marriages. Polls show that the people of Jonquil and Cerulean are dead-set against that. And neither heir is willing to give up ruling a kingdom to marry the other.
Besides, it had been loathe at first site for both Princess Victoria of Jonquil and Prince David of Cerulean.
It seemed obvious to try forming an alliance through the sunny younger prince of Cerulean and the frosty princess of Jonquil. So to that end, Prince Nicholas set out for the seaside kingdom to try to foster a relationship that could at least be friendly and mutually respectful so that an alliance marriage could bind their countries together against mutual threats.
And then he met Prince Charles.
