Work Text:

What's matter, Unca Steeb," Pippa asked as she ran into her Unca Steeb's legs.

Steve ruffled Pippa's red curls and said, "I miss--Bucky and Peggy and your Uncle Tony's Dad. Christmas makes me sad."

Tony walked into the media room, picked-up Pippa and kissed her cheek. "Run up to your apartment and get your winter clothes. Your Uncle Steve is going to need some help. Don't forget to tell your Daddy that Cap is taking you out for to the flea market and the Christmas tree lot. "

"Yay," Pippa said, twirling herself in circles. "Unca Steeb almost neber goes out with me."

"You are in charge of cheering him up," Tony said. "I'd go, too, but I promised your Uncle Bruce that we'd do science together today."

"You like science with Unca Bruce better anyway," Pippa said. "I'll take care of Unca Steeb."

"I know you will, munchkin," Tony said. "You are reliable."

"I don't know what that is," Pippa said. "Is it good?"

"It's very good," Tony said.

Pippa clapped her hands before running out of the media room.

Tony took out his wallet, took out his credit card and handed it to Steve. "I expect smoke to be coming off this when you get back."

"Tony, I can't--

"Yes, you can," Tony said. "Happy is bored as hell. I'm going to call him and he'll bring the limo around and you'll take Pip out and spoil her while you cheer yourself up finding classic Christmas memorabilia."

Clint came into the media room in a green and purple plaid shirt carrying Pippa on his hip. His daughter was wearing a pink coat, pink and black scarf and a pink hat with a black puff on top. "Pippa said you were taking her to the flea market, Cap,"
Clint said. 'If I give you my credit card can you help her with our list?"

'Keep your card," Tony said to Clint, "Steve's got mine."

"Tony," Clint started--"

"I'm spoiling Steve and your kid that extends to you," Tony said.

"Thank you, Tony," Clint said.

"Are you coming, too, Daddy?" Pippa asked.

"I thought I might make Gingerbread Men to hang on the tree," Clint said.

"If you're cooking?" Steve asked, "can you pop a huge amount of popcorn? I thought we could string it for the tree."

"Happy to," Clint said. 'I thought I might make a few Yule Logs as well."

'Unca Tony?" Pippa asked, looking up at Tony.

"I'm doing science with your Uncle Bruce remember?" Tony asked. "When you and Uncle Steve get back we'll join the tree decorating."

"Okay, Unca Tony," Pippa said. "Don't blow-up anything."

Clint laughed and said, "She has your number."

"Keep it up, Legolas," Tony said, "I won't make that new bow I promised you."

"You know you love me," Clint said, making cow eyes at Tony.

"Did that work on Phil?" Tony asked.

"A lot of things worked on Phil," Clint said.

"That I would have liked to have seen," Tony said.

"That I believe," Clint said.

Steve held his arms out for Pippa and asked, "Should we go down to the lobby and see if Happy is ready to get the tree."

Pippa nodded vigorously as she leaned over for her Unca Steeb to take her.

'I won't keep her out too long," Steve told Clint.

"I trust you," Clint said. "Have fun."
