Hanzo was often very incredulous about cole's actions, yes, maybe it had been almost a couple of months since they made their lovers' relationship official in front of the team.
Personally, for Hanzo it didn't bother him so much anymore to hide his happiness in front of the public, especially in front of his two relatives, at one point he could finally accept that he deserved Genji's forgiveness so he brought their relationship to a point of acting like in his childhood days.
With Kiriko it was a little different, accepting that because of her cowardice she left the most vulnerable people in her hometown at the mercy of the Hashimoto clan; so he promised her he would never abandon her again.
Meanwhile with Cole it was a journey full of surprises; polite at first, interested at a specific point, friendly and open with his feelings at a very advanced point and out of nowhere; hugs, kisses and caresses.
Hanzo really couldn't be happier with his life at this point.
Over time Hanzo noticed that Cole would often start bringing him gifts, small ones at first, but over time those gifts would increase in size and affection.
If Hanzo hadn't told him to stop, sooner or later they wouldn't have enough room in their room.
So they had a conversation about the display of affection, ending with Cassidy promising not to overwhelm him again with too many gifts.
They continued as if their conversation had never happened, Hanzo was on his way to the shared room and the first thing he found when he opened the door was a bonsai tree.
This left Hanzo dumbfounded. How the hell did this get here? He was questioning himself and out of nowhere he heard the door open again and the preceding one was the cowboy with a leaf in his hand.
The eye contact was very awkward they really didn't know what to say, Cass could stand there all day from I don't know what Hanzo spoke first.
"It was you."
Cass just looked away affirming Hanzo's assumption.
"Remember what I told you about the gifts?"
"Yes honey I remember very well" he started to slowly approach Hanzo "but this is different" he grabbed the bonsai to stretch it out in front of Hanzo.
"I don't know what you mean by different" this would definitely go on Cole's list of crazy things he did in the name of love.
Colo just handed him the little sprout in his hands and with all the affection Cole could give him, kissed him on the forehead. "Genji told me that you like bonsai and that at one point you would have liked to have a collection, so I figured why not start now," he said.
Obviously, Genji told him, but if he's honest he doesn't care what Genji says anymore, he knows his brother is looking out for his well being.
Hanzo lifts his face to bring their mouths together in a simple, affectionate kiss; when they part, Hanzo simply places the bonsai in a spot in the room, having to remind himself that he is looking for a unique place for that bud.
