Chapter Text
Kaveh was desperate for a tutor. He had already asked Tighnari who had rejected him every time saying he couldn't help Kaveh anymore and Cyno who had constantly told him to find his longtime crush, Alhaitham to help him.
After asking what felt like the rest of the population of Sumeru Kaveh finally gave up and decided to text Alhaitham.

After Alhaitham agreed to tutor Kaveh, Kaveh instantly shot up from his previously very comfortable position in bed to get ready.
As Kaveh walked towards the library he gave it his all to refrain from letting his inner excitement out. He quickly checked his watch, 5:20 pm, he was unusually early, Kaveh was never early, never early unless it had to do with Alhaitham.
He still couldn’t believe Alhaitham had agreed so quickly, let alone agree in the first place! Sure they had been quite close after spending the last two summers together with Tighnari and Cyno but Alhaitham had always been known as cold. Of course, he wasn’t like that to Kaveh but Kaveh always believed that it was just because he didn’t want to be rude to his juniors.
As he pushed the library doors open his eyes immediately led him to a tired-looking Alhaitham hunched over a table reading. Even in his greatest efforts to quietly make his way to the table, he was met with the teal eyes he loved to see so much.
“Hey,” Kaveh said quietly trying his best not to disrupt the silence.
Alhaitham simply pulled out a chair next to him at the table and invited Kaveh to sit down, but Kaveh could already feel his face heating up in turn lowering his head to make an effort to hide it.
After what felt like hours of work Kaveh felt like he was going to faint
“Euggghhhhh I’m so tired Alhaitham can’t we take a break” Kaveh groans as he lets out a sob
“Well, then what would you like to do?”
“Maybe we could grab a coffee? I know a nice cafe nearby and they sell the greatest iced coffee!” Kaveh says nervously expecting an immediate rejection.
“Alright then, it’s a date,” Alhaitham says not even lifting his head from his book
“I-“ Kaveh stood motionless staring at Alhaitham who had just looked up with those same eyes. Kaveh was going to need to sleep this one off.
On their way to the cafe, Kaveh couldn’t help but feel his senior's eyes glued on him. He was obviously avoiding eye contact pointing out every single thing on the streets, he couldn’t help but burst with joy when he heard the giggles of his cold senior as he kept talking.
Once they arrived Kaveh noticed a couple's deal in the front of the store, he noticed Alhaitham had seen it too. Without saying a word about it they walked in together and went up to order.
“Hi, can I get the couple's deal with two iced coffees?” Alhaitham said abruptly shocking Kaveh to the core
This time Kaveh couldn’t even muster up a sound, he just stared at Alhaitham in awe wondering how the hell he got himself in this position. And after all this Alhaitham just stood silently waiting for the order to come out, Kaveh was still waiting for someone to wake him up from this dream.
When the drinks arrived and they walked out with their order Kaveh finally mustered up the courage to say something.
“What was that about?”
“What was what about?” Alhaitham replied being completely obvious with a smirk on his face.
“The cafe, the date, the tutoring, all of it.”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Alhaitham answered while swiftly walking away.
“Don’t you walk away from me!!!”
Somehow Kaveh got back to his dorm without an answer.
He flopped onto his bed and decided he would confront Alhaitham again tomorrow.
