Summary
Aventurine is sick, stubborn, and convinced he can out-charm the flu. Ratio, ever his partner in crime and common sense, isn't buying it. It turns out collapsing post-presentation is a great way to skip work for the day and end up in a really cute doctor's bed.

“Goodbye Aventurine.”
Aventurine sat at the table, hands trembling, as Ratio stood up, the chair screeching horribly loud in the silence and left. The pancakes, which had tasted like an expression of love just five minutes ago, now tasted like cardboard in his mouth. The cream and butter had melted slightly in their dishes, dripping onto the plate like blood from a slit wrist onto a tiled floor.
This can’t be happening.

Summary
Aventurine is never quiet—until the morning he doesn’t show up to work, doesn’t answer his messages, and leaves his apartment door half-open.
Ratio tells himself it isn’t a crisis.
It’s just irritation.
Statistically.But irritation doesn’t explain why he finds Aventurine feverish on the kitchen floor, too weak to stand, insisting he doesn’t want to “trouble” anyone.
It definitely doesn’t explain why Ratio ends up in Aventurine’s bed, holding him through the worst night of his life.

It truly would’ve been the easiest job of his life, if he would just give in.
But still, he refused to fold.
And especially not now, when he could feel Ratio’s eyes burning into him from across the restaurant. He wasn’t sure if it was to assure his safety if Wilson tried anything, or if it was to assure that Aventurine himself would stay faithful. He leaned towards the former, but he wouldn’t blame Veritas if it was the latter.
He was fine with it either way, because he had no intention of letting anything happen either way.
