Chapter 1: Meet the Families

Chapter Text

Eiji was currently sitting in a limo beside his mother who was explaining to him to make a good impression. Supposedly this was a special event to his parents and meant a lot to them.

He rolled his eyes. He didn't see why he had to come to this meeting including his younger sister. She was far too young to be here. He missed with the jacket of his suit it being a bit too big on him.

“Eiji look at your mother when she's talking to you!” His father said in a stern tone. He looked over at his father. Who raised a brow at him. “Dont look at me! Look at your mother.” He corrected him once again. Eiji clenched his fist before taking a deep breath to calm himself.

“You better not act like this when we get there!” His mother scolded pinching his arm. Eiji was already tired and they weren't even there yet a matter of fact he didn't even know where they were going.

“I won't. But may I ask where are we going?” He asked his mom. “You'll figure it out later now shush.”

After a dreadful hour, the limo had come to a stop. Only a few glances from his parents after he and his sister tried to make conversation with each other but that was quickly shut down.

The door had opened the chauffeur holding his hand out to his mother to help her. His father didn't seem to like that idea and dismissed him. Eiji watched as the chauffeur scurried away scared he felt bad. His father himself got out himself and helped his mother.

Once they were all out he looked at the place it was a restaurant a very nice one. Most of it was glass where you could see chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

The four walked up the steps where they were greeted and quickly ushered inside. He observed the place it was empty nobody was there dead silent.

The servant had escorted them to an elevator pushing a button before going up.

“Eiji this is cool...!” His sister whispered to him excitedly. He chuckled before putting a finger up against his lips and shushing her to keep from trouble.

The door had opened to an open patio on the rooftop with a long dining table.

There was seated another family that was looking at us with smiles. Well, almost a blonde head who had scoffed before turning away.

The family walked over to take their seats it was awkward, to say the least. To everyone but his sister who was seated across from another kid around her age. They were coloring and laughing with each other lucky he thought to himself.

”Okay will I guess we’ll take it upon ourselves to introduce ourselves.” Eiji turned his attention to the voice a man with light brown hair.

“My name is Max and it’s a pleasure to meet the three of you since I already know Yasu.” The man said with pride.

“This is my wife Jessica.”

“Jess for short!” She butted in.

“And these two are my sons. Ash.” He directed at the blonde-haired boy who gave a smug look. “And Michael!” He smiled and waved to everyone. His sister laughed being fond of him already.

His father spoke up clearing his throat. “My name is Yasu and here this here is my beloved wife Kanako.” His mother waved and shook hands with Jess and Max. Eiji rolled his hands knowing his mother was putting on an act.

“My eldest son Eiji.” He waved and said a small hi.

“Didnt know they let kids take the throne this young...” Eiji turned back to the other latter in front of him giving him a look.

His mother tapped him on the shoulder to calm him down herself who was also looking at the blonde.

“And my youngest Mai.” She giggled and went back to talking to Michael.

“Now since that's over with why dont we order and then start talking.” His father suggested a nod coming from Max raising his hand to get the servant's attention.

Orders were placed and their drink was quickly served to them.

Eiji was sipping on his water thinking about the remark the boy had said.

“So Eiji? What do you like to do in your free time?” He was taken aback by his being called all of a sudden.

“I usually help my parents with anything they need help with or just go about my way and just do it..!” He quickly answered.

“What a sweet boy,” Jessica answered. “Wish Ash was like that.” She snarked at him.

“You can do it yourself. I'm not taking time out of my way to help you with your business.”

“Plus he's a kid doubt he can say no to his parents?” He smirked at Eiji.

“Excuse me!” Eiji looked at him with a scowl.

“He can't even look intimidating with that baby face say how old are you?”

“I'm 19.” Tension building up between the two of them.

“Boys.” Max tried to grab their attention.

“My bad it's not my fault you look like a child how do you expect people to take you seriously.” The blonde kept pressing his nerves.

His father sat his glass down on the table with a thud that grabbed Eijis's attention.

He looked over at him. “Sorry.” He mumbled grabbing his water again and sipping on it. The blonde gave Eiji a grin at how fast he was to shut his mouth.

The waitress served their food a few minutes after. And everything was going calmly. Their parents were talking about business or whatever and the kids were all happy and laughing.

But he and Ash gave each other glances every now and then none of them willing to apologize to each other.

“Boys, may I have your attention?” Max asked. The two of them looked at him.

“So as of right now the two of our families will be alliancing with each other. Due to a threat of another Mafia that is targeting us.”

“What does that have to do with us?” Eiji snarked at him his mother giving him a look.

Eijis's father took a breath.

“Well, we're going to send the both of you out to Italy. Where the threats are coming from hoping that y'all will be able to stop it.”

“I'm not flying out with him?! He's a jerk!” Eiji looked at him and then back at his father.

“I'm not doing that either and why can't y'all do it?” Ash spoke up.

“Well, why not y'all are the heirs of the Mafia so both of you should do just fine.” Jess nudged Ash on his shoulder. He moved away from her annoyed.

“Dad...!” Eiji complained. “Why can't you get the others to do it? It was never a problem then why is it a problem now?” He layed his head down on the table.

“Why are you whining are you too scared to get killed or something?” Eiji sat right back up at his remark.

“You were complaining too so don't act like you weren't!”

Ash gritted his teeth.

“Fine, I’ll go.” Ash looked at Max giving a small grin.

“Yea no. I dont want to g-”

“So it's settled y'all both are going.” His mother cut him off.

Ash let out a chuckle at him being ignored.

“Dad then why am I here?” Mai asked.

“Good question. While the two of you are out Michael and Mai will start their training. In case anything did happen to the two of you.” Eiji looked at his father shocked. “She's too young to start she's only nine!?”

“That's not young I started training around that age.” Eiji looked at Ash astonished.

“What? Do you have a problem?” Eiji looked away. And didn't talk for the rest of the dinner.

As the sun settled the two families were outside the restaurant discussing what will happen from here on.

“It was lovely to meet see y'all in two days!” Jess said goodbye.

His mom waved bye and got into the limo. He followed behind her taking a seat. Waiting for his sister and father.

The door shut implying everyone was in.

“You better figure out a way to get along with him!” His father said in a stern voice.

He was about to say something but quickly shut his mouth.

Way to go for a first impression he thought to himself.
