Chapter Text
As he woke up, he immediately felt as if his head was being pressed on from all four sides. He opened his eyes, yet quickly shut them when the sunlight from his open curtains seeped through his pupils, piercing his already pressured head.
“Jesus..” He muttered out involuntarily. Whatever pain that was rushing through his head and slowly corrupting his body was already getting frustrating to deal with, and he had only been awake for a minute.
Akito rubbed his eyes for a few seconds and then turned in his bed, grabbing his phone from the bedside table and turning it on. Luckily, the brightness was low.
07:00. Shit.
He had to be out of the door in thirty minutes, and right now he could barely look out of his window without discomfort.
However, he can’t not go to school.
If he tells his parents he’s not going into school, then they won’t let him go out for practice later. And he really has to practise. He needs to be able to get the chorus for their new song down, or he’d end up delaying their next event.
And he also didn’t want to leave Toya on his own.
An had gone out for the weekend to see Nagi’s grave for the first time since all the news came out. She will be back home today, but she will be too tired to go to school, so she will most likely rest until practice.
So it would be unfair to leave Toya on his own for break and lunch.
Akito only really went to school because of Toya. In no way is he a model student - grades wise - and he can’t properly concentrate in lessons that really don’t peak his interest.
Sure, he likes some bits of geography, and PE, and he doesn’t mind English classes as they’re mostly just a free period..
But he really can’t see himself using much of what he’s told to learn in school when he leaves and goes off to college or gets a job.
So, he mostly just goes in to appreciate those three subjects and to spend more time with his boyfriend. After all, the time they spend after school is always limited by Toya’s father. So being able to hang out with him without putting Toya in some form of danger was a win to Akito.
He sighed and sat himself up, stretching his aching body. He didn’t have time for a shower today. Or really the energy too. Hopefully it’s not too noticeable.
Without standing up, the teen opened his curtains and winced as the sun made full contact with his eyes. The pain was so bad he had to look away and squeeze his eyes shut.
Was he actually going to make it to school?
He didn’t have time to ponder that question. Instead, he quickly stood up - which rendered him nearly falling back over again - before he sluggishly made his way out of his bedroom and down the corridor to the bathroom.
Since when did his stomach hurt too? All he had last night was some perfectly cooked chicken salad. He knows it was cooked, as he checked the colour of the inside a million times before labelling it safe to eat.
He placed a hand on his stomach as he entered the bathroom, groaning to himself quietly. He really hopes he doesn’t throw up.
As he approached his room again, he felt his energy decrease greatly. But he can’t stop now. He has to keep on going. No school means no practice, and he cannot keep anyone else waiting anymore.
Eventually, after what felt like hours, Akito was all ready to head off to school. In reality, it had only been about 10 minutes, and it was now 07:25.
And somehow, Akito felt even worse.
His stomach had this constant ache to it that wasn’t seeming to dissipate at all, and he could barely look up at any light source without his head screeching in pain and forcing him to look away.
But he couldn’t bring anyone down anymore.
As he walked down the stairs, he noticed that his mother and father were in the kitchen, presumably eating breakfast.
He didn’t feel like eating, not with his stomach being the way it is. He also didn’t want to show them that he was ill.
“Oh, Akito!” His mother called out. She smiled brightly and approached him. “Good morning. I know you’ll be a bit late, but-”
She cut herself off once she got closer to her son, with her face then contorting into a concerned expression.
Akito was confused. Was there something on his face? Why was his mom looking at him with such worry, like she used to when he was younger?
Come to think of it, his father was now looking at him. As usual, he still had an interesting expression, however he was still looking at Akito for an unusual amount of time.
“..What?” Akito broke the weird silence. As he did so, a new wave of pain rushed through his head, and he couldn’t help but crack and squeeze his eyes shut. He hissed through his teeth.
“Oh, Akito, baby, you’re sick!” His mother then says, rushing up to him and cupping his face. She scanned her eyes over him, trying to stop anything else out of the ordinary.
He pried her hands away from his face, not enjoying the sudden babying of him. He knows and appreciates that his mother just wants to care for him, but he’s 16, not 7.
She sighed and gave Shinei a look, which sent him off to the cupboard in the downstairs bathroom. He returned shortly after, and simply handed whatever he had retrieved to his wife and then left the house.
Akito’s mother groaned at this, however her attention quickly went back to Akito. “Come on, get back into bed.” She orders, however she ends up just dragging him up herself.
Despite his audible protests to let him go to school, she wasn’t having any of it.
“Mom, I need to go to school-” Akito mutters out, not wanting to raise his voice in fear of his head getting even worse. However, he wasn’t sure that was even possible anymore. He really wanted to just lay in bed in the dark, but at the same time he couldn’t leave Toya on his own.
The older woman shushed him and placed her finger on his lips. He didn’t look all too pleased by that. But instead, she carried on speaking.
“I’m sure he will live for a day without you. I know you both love each other very much, but he’ll be fine. You, on the other hand, will not be if you leave this house.” Her tone was soft, but her words were firm.
Akito groaned and tried to push his mother out of his room. “Mom, please don’t.” He warned, however it didn’t hold much of a threat at all. A red tint was also contrasting his deathly pale face.
“I’m just saying. Ooh! Maybe he could come over later and take care of you. Me and your father will be out until late tonight, so-”
Akito really did not want to be embarrassed anymore than this, which unfortunately lead him to say something that he didn’t actually want to do.
“Mom, please shut up. If you do, I’ll stay in bed all day, have all my medicine and drink lots of fluids.” He said, desperate yet also weakly. “Will you leave me alone then?”
The woman was shocked at first, however when she processed what her son had said, she smiled warmly and got up, walking over to his closet and picking out some comfy clothing for him.
She placed them beside Akito, and then very quickly - as to not hear him complain once again - placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. She then approached his bedroom door and gave him a final wave.
When she left, she noticed that her second child also seemed to be awake. But..she shouldn’t be. She had heard her daughter talking at 04:30 this morning. It was clear she hadn’t gone to bed yet.
“Ena?” The elder called out, walking down the corridor and spotting the mentioned girl brushing her hair in the bathroom.
Ena seemed to notice her through the mirror. She smiled at her through the reflective surface and then placed her brush down before turning around. “Hey, mom.”
The lady sighed and approached her daughter. “Why are you still up? You need to go to sleep. You know your evening classes start an hour earlier today right?” She reminded Ena.
The brown eyed girl nodded, then turned back to her hairbrush and started to idly comb through her hair. “I know. But I’m not that tired, and I need to quickly go and get a new charger for my drawing pen. The store where I get them is only 5 or so minutes away.” She explained.
Ena’s mother nodded. “Okay, but you must go to sleep as soon as you get back. And please be quiet around the house today. Your brother’s not well at all.” She said, however it also came out like a plea.
You could tell that Ena and Akito’s mother truly cared for the two. She always made sure they ate, made sure they slept, and she always sent them texts to make sure they’re okay.
Ena smiled warmly and nodded as she walked past her mom. “Will do, mom. Have a good day at work.” She said, and then left.
As the brown eyed girl approached her room again, she thought out the orders her mom gave. ‘Be quiet around the house, your brother’s not well at all.’
Akito..being off sick?
Ena was genuinely shocked at that. Ever since his second year at Middle School, Akito has had 100% attendance, no matter if he was sick or particularly tired that day. It did worry Ena (especially how she knew specifically how much he would overwork himself sometimes), however she never truly let it show.
So to hear that her little brother is that unwell to have time off school, then that was worrying..
She sighed and placed her hairbrush on her text and she took a quick look in the mirror before leaving her room. However, she didn’t take herself downstairs just yet.
Instead, she very quietly walked over to Akito’s room. His door was open by a crack, and she could tell from the pitch black sight that he had some form of headache. She now knew to be quiet.
“Akito..?” The older girl called out, her voice quiet and gentle as she pushed his bedroom door open ever so slightly.
As she walked in, she took in the fact that he hadn't even hung his uniform up and instead it was all piled up on the floor next to his bed. She groaned, which caused him to look up.
And he looked..horrible.
His face was pale and his eyes looked weak and droopy, as if he hadn’t slept for a year. He was visibly shivering, and it was now obvious to Ena how many blankets were on him.
“What the hell do you want..?” The younger boy mumbled out, much quieter than he was expecting. As he was about to pull the blankets over his entire body again, Ena spoke up.
“Jesus, you look..horrible.” She muttered, stepping back from him a bit whilst she placed a hand over her mouth. “I just came in here to ask if you want anything from the convenience store, cause I’m gonna go.”
The olive eyed shook his head and dropped his head back onto his mattress, groaning as another wave of pain rushed through his stomach and head.
Ena raised a concerned brow. “Okay..I’ll just go and get some paracetamol though. We’re out anyway.” She said, before she swiftly left his room and shut it behind herself.
The walk to the convenience store was only around seven minutes. However, as she started to see the store come into view, something- or someone, seemed to catch her eye.
At first, she looked, yet she didn’t process exactly who it was. However, when she took a glance around once more she then took in the two toned hair and the slim figure.
Out of instinct, she quickly approached him and called the boy’s name out. “Toya?”
Toya, who hadn't noticed Ena himself, jumped at the sudden call of his name. However, he quickly relaxed and met the girl halfway once he comprehended the situation.
“Ah, Ena. It’s strange to see you out at this time. Usually you’re asleep, correct?” His polite greeting had yet to change, despite meeting the girl multiple times and eventually being like a mini brother in law. He was still widely respectful to her, despite Ena being confused on why she deserved this politeness.
The brown haired girl flashed him a small smile. “Yeah, it’s weird for me too. To see all the day class kids walking into school as I’m half asleep..” She lowly chuckled, very clearly begging no one to see her, especially not Mizuki. That’s if they are going into school today.
“I’m actually just here to get a new charger for my drawing pen and some medicine.” She added on when Toya didn’t answer. She also pointed to the store that was only around 10 feet away now.
The silver eyed teen nodded and gave her a warm smile, however, he looked a little worried. “I hope that medicine works then. Feel better, Ena.” He waved at her before he began to walk off.
However, Ena’s already blurted out something she wasn’t sure if she should’ve.
“Actually, it’s for Akito.”
Not even a second goes by after she finishes her reply, and Toya has already turned back around and walked back up to the older girl.
His face was now plastered in worry. It was clear on his face that he would now be worrying about the boy all day now.
“How is he? Will he have the day off?” Were only some of the questions that Ena could manage to process through the sea of enquiries that the taller gave.
He also seemed to realise that would mean he would be on his own for the school day.
By himself.
With no one else to talk to.
Toya hadn’t experienced being alone at school for years, and he wasn’t sure that he would be as good at being on his own like he was previously. Well, he does have Tsukasa, but he would most likely only see him at lunch today.
Ena cracked him away from his thoughts. “Erm..I’m pretty sure he’s got a bad migraine, he’s really cold and I saw him clutching his stomach, so..” She stated, trying her best to remember anything else that looked ‘off’ about her brother.
Toya simply nodded, yet didn’t reply. It was clear he was thinking about something, too. He knew that after this Ena would go to sleep and then she’d have an hour to get ready for her night classes when she wakes up, so for the entire day Akito would be alone..
“What if I stayed off school to assist him?” The question escaped his mouth before he even processed the thought of asking itself.
Ena was admittedly taken aback by this sudden suggestion. However, when she thought more about it, she began to realise that would be a huge help to not only Akito, but herself.
But on the other hand, she knows what his father can be like, and helping him essentially ‘skip school’ to help out his secret sick boyfriend will definitely render his father unhappy.
She pondered for a moment, and then nodded. She didn’t want Toya to be on his own throughout the school day, and she didn’t want Akito to suffer on his own either.
“That would be a good idea, actually.” She smiled, which caused the other to beam in delight. He was excited to see his boyfriend, and he also has a rush of rebellion coursing through him for basically ‘skipping’ school. Today was just a study day anyway.
He thanked her many times and followed her into the small store, so as to not avoid suspicion by waiting outside whilst other students walked past.
As Ena walked off to the electronic section, Toya found himself wandering over to the cheesecake section.
Akito may not want to eat something this sweet if he has a stomach ache, but it could always be a present for later on.
Quickly, the two-toned boy pulled out his wallet and counted the money that he had. 900 yen. He then skimmed over all over the different types of cake before his eyes fixated on a small box of cheesecake.
He opened the chiller and pulled it out and read the price tag.
642 yen. He had enough.
Ena approached him moments later. “Hey, I’m about to go and pay..” She started off, before her own eyes were drawn to the box in her little brother's lover’s hands. She didn’t even need to see the label on the box.
Toya smiled, a small tinge of pink on his face. “I was just..looking around and I saw it and I thought it’d be like a present from me to him.” He mumbled, evidently flustered.
The brown eyed girl smiled at his embarrassment, yet bursting love. She nodded and then took him over to the counter. When it came to pay, Toya was about to pull out his wallet before Ena gently pushed his hand down before using her credit card to pay for it all.
When they left, there were no more students walking to school, so they could both get home without anyone calling them out.
“Ena, I was going to pay for that. It’s my gift to Akito.” Toya said, clearly guilty about her paying for something she didn’t even want in the first place.
Ena looked up at him and gave him a warm smile, something rare for her. But he was just so polite about it, she couldn’t help it.
“Well, firstly, you’re risking a lot by just not going to school, and secondly, you’re helping me out a ton. If I was on my own, I would have to have taken care of Akito, which would’ve meant I would have had no sleep. So think of this as me saying thank you.” She replied.
Although all of what she said was true, she also just wanted to show her gratitude to Toya in general, for always being there for Akito, and sometimes even her, and for how much he’s progressed from a few years ago. She really cared for him, so buying a little treat for him and her brother was the least she could do. (Plus, she may be able to steal a slice later on.)
The remainder of the walk back to the Shinonome household was relatively quiet, except for when Ena would ask Toya about his school life, home life and much more. Despite not being too alike, they did share some opinions.
Eventually, they made it back to their home and Ena unlocked the door. “Finally,” She muttered, taking off her shoes and watching the younger boy do the exact same thing. She then handed him the cheesecake and the ibuprofen before guiding him over to the kitchen.
“Akito cannot take medicine without water. In fact, for most of his childhood he refused to take medicine at all. It’s only when he was promised food after it that he would reluctantly swallow it down.” Ena said, chuckling to herself about all the memories of younger Akito stomping his foot and crying over having to take medicine, something that the Akito now would kill her for even mentioning.
Toya smiled warmly, watching her fill up a glass of water. “He’s always getting colds and stuff similar, but it’s never that severe, so I actually have never seen how he reacts to medicine.” He replies, thanking her as she hands him the glass of water.
They then make their way to the stairs, and Ena takes him to Akito’s room.
A small, quiet knock caused the boy inside to groan. Ena rolled her eyes, and mouthed “I am so sorry, he’s a little bitch sometimes.” to the taller boy.
“What now..?” He mumbled out. It would have been nearly inaudible if it wasn’t for Toya’s top tier hearing. Ena wasn’t so fortunate to have that luxury, so instead she looked at Toya, puzzled.
The dual haired teen smiled and cleared his throat. “Akito, it’s me. I’m here.” He calls out, his voice as soft as it can be. He doesn’t want to make his boyfriend‘s headache worse.
Immediately, the mood in Akito’s room changed. The two heard a strange gasp from him, before the shuffling of blankets and then the slight footsteps right after.
Moments later, the door creaks open and Akito looks up at the two in front of his door, completely shocked at the arrival of one of them.
Ena visibly cringed at his face. He must’ve been pale and red, as she quickly covered her mouth once more and stepped back. Toya simply stayed where he was.
Before she could leave however, she had to explain herself, as Akito was staring daggers (well, more like tiny needles) into her eyes and probably blaming her for taking Toya out of school.
“I was going to the store like I said I was, and I saw Toya. And I told him you weren’t very well, and he insisted that he should come over and help you while I rest.” She quickly blurted out. Halfway through she could see a slight blush on the mentioned teen’s face.
Akito looked at her in shock and then back at his lover, in even more shock.
Toya had never in his life had a day off school before, let alone skipped it. And he was doing it all for Akito.
Why..?
Quickly, Akito put on his usual flustered face and crossed his arms. He didn’t want to seem too vulnerable to Toya.
“You didn’t have to take a day off to take care of me, you know..I would’ve been fine.” The ginger haired muttered, leaning himself against the doorframe as his head started to pound and split once more. He tried to hide it, but he couldn’t help but squeeze his eyes shut.
Toya sighed at Akito’s stubbornness, and he placed a hand on his chest, gently pushing him back into his room. “Nonsense,” He answers. Akito makes a small sound of surprise that no one has ever heard before. Like a squeak.
Ena let out a small giggle. “Be grateful, you mouse. Toya just wants to take care of you~” She teases, earning a silent scowl from the younger.
“Shut up.”
The older girl rolled her eyes. “Just..be nice. He’s doing both of us a favour.” She said, before she thanked Toya one last time and then retreated back to her room to receive her long awaited rest.
This is now the time that Toya went into full-nurse-mode.
“So, what’s wrong then, love?” He asked softly, holding his hand and taking him back to bed. He hadn’t been particularly looking at Akito’s face whilst he guided him to sit down, but when he looked into his eyes after they had sat down on the bed, he noticed his red face.
Immediately he thrust the cold glass of water into his hands, thinking the worst. “Your head is so hot your face is red. Please, drink some water, I’ll go and get a cold rag from downstairs..” He was cut off.
“No, no, don’t. I’m freezing, actually.” He groaned. It was true, he was so cold it was unreal. He just didn’t really wanna tell Toya that the whole ‘love’ nickname had caught him off guard.
Toya raised his eyebrow, yet he stayed put for now and instead quickly wrapped the big blanket around Akito.
“I still think I should get you a cold rag.” Toya responded, his face folded in worry. His hand gently rubbed over Akito’s arm, trying his best to comfort Akito, even though he doesn’t seem too bothered himself.
Keyword : ‘Too.’
Even though Akito had only been in his care for mere minutes, Toya noticed that every time the olive eyed teen would swallow, or move, he had to clutch his stomach and he always had a panicked expression on his face just for a split second during these.
Was he worried about something? Was he hungry? Did he feel sick?
For now, Toya didn’t want to pry. Instead, he needed to get some medicine down Akito stat.
He turned around and picked up the tablets that Ena had brought, and he popped out two before then grabbing the glass of water from his desk. He tapped Akito, and showed him the tablets.
Instantly, Akito whined and shook his head, not even looking properly at the tablets.
Toya furrowed his brows in determination. “Please, Akito. They’ll help with your headache.” He pried, shaking the box of tablets slightly, trying to get the other boy to look and realise it’s just paracetamol.
Reluctantly, Akito opened his eyes for a second and turned his body slightly around to see his boyfriend and what was in his hands. When he saw the label of the tablets, he groaned and turned his entire body around before taking the box from Toya.
Toya smiled, proud of his mini victory whilst Akito begrudgingly popped two out and swallowed them with a sip of water. As soon as he had finished, Toya felt an overwhelming urge to just be near him.
It didn’t matter if he got sick, really. He would power through it like he usually does, and if it’s really this bad his dad may let him stay home. And maybe..Akito will take care of him like this too.
Before he finds himself drawing up a new fantasy of him and Akito in his mind, Toya quickly shuffles beside the olive eyed teen and wraps an arm around his torso, gently pulling him close. He smiled as he saw the blush creep up on the smaller’s face.
“Mmh,” Akito shuffled a little. “Ain’t your dad gonna be pissed at you for skipping?” He asked, burying his head into Toya’s shoulder. He really didn’t want to endanger his lover, but it surely can’t be that bad anymore. However, it was clear that Akito wouldn’t have let Toya leave anyway, as he had practically stuck himself to the other’s side.
Toya smiled and planted a kiss on Akito’s forehead. “I’ll deal with all of that later.” Was his only reply on the matter, as he quickly changed the subject.
“Are you hungry? I got you some cheesecake.”
When Akito heard that sentence, he felt like he was going to gag.
But he didn’t. He really didn’t want to gag, but he felt it. If he felt it, that must mean his stomach ache is a lot more than just that. He’s going to end up vomiting if he eats something.
He cannot vomit, he just can’t.
Quickly, (and slightly involuntarily) the smaller boy shook his head and tried his best to block out the sight of the cake that was only a few feet away from him. Even the sight could give him the feeling of gagging..
This strange response had obviously concerned Toya, as he slightly pulled away from Akito and lifted the smaller’s chin so they were looking in each others eyes.
“You usually never say no to cheesecake, let alone react like that.” He started off, before he quickly put the food back in the bag to avoid whatever panic that Akito had just had. He then looked at him again. “Do you have a stomach ache too, Akito?”
Akito looked away. He really hated admitting this. It was such a stupid fear. Vomiting wasn’t something you could avoid for the rest of your life, it was inevitable, so there was no valid reason for him to be afraid of it. So why did he panic every time he even had the feeling to gag?
A small nod gave Toya his reply. However, it was clear that Akito wasn’t very happy about admitting it so weakly.
Toya could instantly tell that Akito wasn’t too comfortable about his stomach hurting. In a way..he looked a bit scared. However, Toya could not fully tell, so he decided to leave it for a bit.
“If anything changes in you, let me know right away.” The silver eyed boy said, which earned him a nod in reply from his boyfriend. Akito smiled gently at him, grateful for all the undeserving care he was being spoiled with.
HIs eyelids began to feel heavy once again, and he nestled himself closer to the boy, appreciating the unusual warmth that the usually cold teen was emitting. Instead, he didn’t think much of it and let his eyes close.
Toya smiled, admiring the immediate look of relaxation that washed over Akito’s face when he fell limp. Carefully, Toya pulled himself and Akito against the wall(along with his school bag0, tightened the blankets around Akito, and then pulled out his book from his back, to which he then began to read.
Around an hour had passed, and Toya was beginning to get hungry. After finding an appropriate place to finish his reading, he slipped the book back into the school bag and then pulled out his lunch, rummaging through it to see if he had packed anything snack-worthy the night before.
After a few moments of searching, he found some grapes that he had prepared. He smiled and began to eat, still trying his best to be as quiet as possible as to not disturb Akito.
He was nearly finished with his grapes, when he felt Akito stir against him. He placed the container onto the bed and made sure it was closed, before he focused his attention onto the boy beside him.
He didn’t say a word until Akito woke up, however when the olive eyed teen did wake up, he was immediately panicked and alert.
His stomach was pushing at something, and he really hoped it wasn’t what he thought it was.
Confused and now also panicked, Toya grabbed Akito’s hands. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
Quickly, the other boy covered his mouth whilst his stomach churned and made unnecessarily strange noises to alert him to expel whatever he had for dinner last night.
He coughed and gagged, trying his best to swallow the bile, to bite back at his body. He couldn’t do this, he couldn’t vomit, he just-
Before he knew it, he was being dragged to the bathroom by Toya, and the door swiftly opened with a push whilst the sickening scent of bleach creeped up Akito, and only made it harder to stop himself from throwing up.
Moments later, he was knelt down by the toilet with Toya right beside him, and a gentle hand on his back. The look on the older boy’s face was one of reassurance, but all Akito do was shake his head in pure fear.
That head shake was all Toya needed to know.
Akito was scared- no, terrified of throwing up.
But right now, the only thing that would make Akito feel better was if he threw up.
So, Toya needed to get him to do that, as calmly as possible.
“Akito? Look at me, please. Hold it in for a moment.” Toya called out, his tone soft and gentle. Once the ginger haired boy looked at him, Toya smiled and squeezed his hand. “I know it seems absolutely terrifying, but you need to vomit. I promise that you will feel mounts better if you throw up.”
The words didn’t seem to calm Akito at all. Instead, the teen’s breaths picked up as he coughed more and his hand tightened on his mouth. He felt the sour warm drops in his mouth, he felt his hand getting warmer, everything was so so overwhelming.
He shook his head rapidly, trying not to let Toya see the tears in his eyes. No, he was absolutely not going to feel better if he vomited, in fact, he might vomit more and more and more and-
“Akito.”
The firmness of Toya’s voice is what caused the smaller one to look up. Toya’s expression matched the tone well, however it wasn’t one of anger.
“I will be right here if you do throw up. You need to take some deep breaths and let it happen. You can squeeze my hand and close your eyes and do anything that will make it any less horrific. But I promise on my life that if you let it out, you will feel better.”
Akito went to shake his head, but he caught another look at his lover’s look of reassurance, and he pondered.
He really, really did not want to do this. In all honesty, he might not be able to. But..he couldn’t stand the twisting, pushing feeling in his stomach anymore.
He took one last look at Toya, and the other must’ve noticed the trusting look in his eyes, so he nodded.
To be honest, Akito barely remembers it.
All he can recall is taking many deep breaths before, and then as soon as his hand fell from his mouth, he coughed up into the toilet.
He also remembers the gentle yet firm squeeze that Toya had on his hands, and the rhythmic rub against his back throughout the entire process. He also remembers hearing small hushes and a few “You’re doing so well”’s, but that’s it.
The next thing he remembers is laying down on the bathroom floor as Toya comes into view once more, with what seemed to be a glass of water.
“You already look better.” He heard the other say, as he knelt down and lift Akito to sit up. He handed the ginger a glass of water. “Less pale.”
A small, dumb smile made his way onto Akito’s exhausted face as he accepted the water before taking small sips as instructed. He nodded. His stomach, although still a little twisty, felt a lot lighter now. Toya was right.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Although unwell, Akito would never admit he was wrong. But he knew he was, embarrassingly.
Toya smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek. His tone became a little more serious. “Y’know, if you’re ever feeling like that when sick again, please let me know. I can’t even imagine how scary it must’ve felt like.” He said, whilst he slowly wrapped his arms around the smaller teen.
Akito’s face felt hot again, however not in an unwanted fashion. He playfully rolled his eyes. “Yeah yeah, okay, thanks for being sappy.” He muttered back, which caused both of them to laugh.
A small silence enveloped them, until Toya spoke up once again. This time, a hint of mischievousness in his voice.
“If you’re still unwell tomorrow, I’ll be your nurse again..”
“Not only will your dad be angry, but I think I’ll cry if you ever call yourself a nurse again.”
