Work Text:
As Lilith rides back to the Emperor’s Castle, she keeps thinking about her interaction with Edalyn. Her sister attempted to thwart Lilith’s plan (although it turned out that the Bloom of Eternal Youth never existed anyway thanks to that infuriating scammer) and teased her the entire time, but strangely… she doesn’t feel angry toward Edalyn.
In fact, Lilith rather enjoyed their interaction. Their competitive behavior as they raced for the Bloom brought back memories of their childhood, and she smiles as she remembers a younger Edalyn challenging her to races and messing around. Those are honestly some of the best memories of her life. And somehow, an interaction with her criminal sister over thirty years later made her feel the same way.
Lilith sighs. She wishes things hadn’t turned out this way. She wishes she never cursed her sister. She wishes they didn’t drift apart. She wishes that their childhood dream of joining the Emperor’s Coven came true. And she wishes that she was able to persuade Edalyn to convert to the Coven.
Everything will be okay if that happens, she just knows it. The Emperor will cure her curse (and Lilith can see no reason for an incredible leader like Emperor Belos to go back on his promise) and Edalyn will gain back some of her lost power. And she and Edalyn will be together again, just like they always dreamed.
But Lilith has given Edalyn more than enough chances to turn herself in and join the Coven willingly. So, although it makes her heart ache, she knows she must approach their future meetings with force. She will not let her sister be petrified for the crime of being a wild witch. She wants Edalyn safe, healthy, and powerful by her side.
But her sister never makes things easy.
