Chapter Text
Unnerving pitch-black eyes peak cautiously around the corner of a traditional two-story house, those eyes flitting across their surroundings. Finding the coast clear, a teenage Foxian boy with black hair matching with equally black tail and ears, whose name was Rune, dashed through very little crowds of others holding his arms closest to his chest. Within his arms hid a closed brown bag holding what would soon be his only meal for that day.
Slowly fading from a serene atmosphere of a semi-crowded area to an eerie abandoned portion of the city, Rune felt his shoulders dropping in relief. The home, in which he resided, brought about comfort for him- even if realistically the place wasn’t the most friendly and inhabitable.
Glancing in a quick motion at the only working holographic news board, Rune noticed a pair of wanted posters with quite a high bounty. Although his interest peaked in just who those wanted posters were for Rune opted to walk past. For an abandoned section he resided in this was a far better location than the whole of the Luofu- yet he hadn’t seen a hide or hair of any activity of the Cloud Knights here in search of the criminals. Thus, it was safe to say his home was quite safe for the time being.
Or that is what he had wanted to say.
His steps gaining a bit more momentum at the prospect of being close to home he rounded the familiar corner with a battered broken sign. Before he could make it a step farther his eyes trailed down to the ground in front of him as he pulled himself to a full stop.
Peacefully lying before him was one of the wanted criminals he had seen mere seconds ago. His intricate clothing caught his eyes immediately for how expensive they looked whilst his long darkish blue locks with a tint of red at the tips were quick to grab his attention as well.
Tiptoeing closer to the man, Rune slowly yet surely crouches. He pokes him once…twice… a third time for good measure ending in a result of absolutely nothing. However, after observing the man's appearance up closer than previously, a striking dark patch of red could be seen just barely underneath where he lay.
“Oh,” Rune spoke aloud but quietly as his heart began to speed up a considerable amount. “S-should I…?”
Stretching his hand reaching for the injured man, his hand stopped just before it had made contact. His face pinched in uncertainty, however, unable to resist the push of his heart to help the man he eventually heaved the man up onto his legs. Throwing one of the man’s arms around his shoulder, Rune struggled laboriously to arrive at his intended destination- home sweet home.

Home sweet home was a beaten-up, hardly even standing, two-room house with a mix of a small kitchen and living room- the other being a bedroom. The wallpaper was conceivably chipped off, slowly peeling away in some places, and the floor had several holes with badly patched-up woodwork covering them.
Not being the most prettiest of places, Rune still felt safe and comfortable.
Gently laying the very much-wanted criminal on the only bed within the house, “His bed.” he couldn’t help but grumble, his hands searching for the bleeding injury respectively. The man lying before was practically covered with white bandages that he wasn't too sure he’d make it out alive if he removed them- and he wanted to make it out alive thank you very much.
Successful in his attempt at finding the injury inflicted upon the man, along the back of his left shoulder, he placed his hand flat over the discovered wound. Closing his eyes, his ears lightly twitched, and his tail swished back and forth as his conversation was pumped up to the max. Soon his hand began to lightly glow a beautiful pastel yellow color and his teeth, the two sharp canine teeth included, clenched together tightly.
Despite being blocked by the man’s clothing Rune could faintly feel the bleeding wound closing up until it had faded completely. Partially slumping his upper body forward in exhaustion he thoroughly ignored the pain radiating from his left shoulder.
Rather his attention focused solely on the making the man more comfortable before gradually standing up to walk away.
Yet his body was forced to a stop in the face of a large uniquely colored sword coming behind him practically placing him at its mercy. The sword wrapped around his neck coming sorely too close for comfort whilst he could feel the presence of another person behind him.
The man he has just healed was the one responsible.
