Don’t Leave Me

Notes:

Day 15 Prompt: "Please." Blindfold | Pressure Points | Scream

Work Text:

You and Bucky have been dating for a few months now. He had been hesitant to let you into his life, which he often refers to as a dumpster fire, but he’s so glad he did. Everything about you gives him a sense of peace that he had been missing for so long.

Although it has only been a few months, he is gone for you. He’d set the world on fire if that’s what it took to keep your love. Of course, you’ve had your ups and downs, especially in the beginning. It was hard for you to watch him go into missions with no regard for his own well being. You knew he was being reckless on purpose, and you confronted him about it right away. He also liked to push you away when the darkest recesses in his mind clawed his soul apart, sinking their teeth into him and convincing him that he wasn’t enough for you.

You are always there to pick him up, though. Quick to reassure him that he is enough, that you love him and want him just the same as he loves and wants you.

You were both on a date to some small hole in the wall restaurant. You both preferred them over “exquisite” meals that cost forty dollars for nothing but a small snack.

You laugh and joke with him for a while. You tease him for something he said earlier before everything goes to hell.

Screams and gunfire muffle the sound of your boyfriend yelling at you to get down. You rapidly get under the table, tears streaming down your face. Your heart pounds faster and faster in your chest as Bucky tells you he’ll be right back. You scream at him, “Don’t leave me!” But it gets lost in the sounds of violence.

Your body trembles as you survey what you can see. Across from you an elderly couple sat. They now were bleeding out with multiple bullet holes in and around their bodies. You hold your hand over your mouth to stifle the horrified sob that wants to be released. An ache settles in your chest that feels so heavy and real.

Glass crunches nearby, steady and slow. You hope that it’s Bucky, but you know deep down it’s not him. The man stops at the table you’re under. You attempt to press yourself further into the wall, trying not to breathe or make any sound to notify him that you’re there.

He bends down and meets your terrified face with a nasty grin. Heart pummelling, you close your eyes tight. If only this were a nightmare. If only we had stayed at home. We should have stayed home.

You open your eyes when you hear movement. The man crawls his way to you, and you scream. You scream for help, for Bucky, for mercy. The man grabs your arm and yanks you out from the table. You cry out from the force he uses.

He drags you out of the establishment, but you won’t let him take you. Not without a fight.

You kick and scream and punch, anything to make him lose his hold on you. He yells back at you, something about shutting up along with some colourful names, but you’re too focused on escaping to care.

It isn’t until he hits one of your pressure points, successfully knocking you unconscious, that you stop.

When you wake up, you can’t see anything. There’s fabric around your eyes, enough so that you can’t even see anything below you—or maybe it’s just that dark. You hope that Bucky is on his way to find you. The necklace he gave you in case something were to happen still sits between your shirt and your chest, so the odds of him finding you are basically one hundred unless… unless…. No. No, you can’t think like that. Bucky is trained, he’s a professional. He wouldn’t let some amateurs kill him. Not when he had you to look after and protect. But, well, you are sitting, tied up with a blindfold. And he is not here. Not that you can tell at least.

So if he’s not here, if he’s not here rescuing you… would it really be too far fetched to say…

Stop it. You can’t think like that. Bucky is fine and he is on his way to beat up these guys that dared capture the Winter Soldier’s significant other. They undoubtedly made a mistake there.

Your thoughts derail as soon as you hear footsteps. Your heart lurches into your throat and you think you’re going to be sick. Who are these people? What do they want with you? What will they do to you?

They take off the blindfold. Your eyes water as the light burns your dry eyes. “Let me go! My boyfriend, he’s—you don’t know who he is—he’ll—”

“On the contrary, darling. You don’t think we had this planned out? You don’t think that the Winter Soldier’s little significant other would be a bargaining chip?

“We’ve been watching you two. And he really seems to like you. It would be a shame if anything were to happen to you,” he dramatically frowns. His words are taunting, making you want to slap the smug look right off his ugly face.

“We know he’s coming, but… why don’t we have a little fun whilst we wait?”

Your eyes widen as you frantically stain under the ropes they have you tied to. “No! Please! No, don’t–don’t hurt me, please!”
