Work Text:
Ghost was never good to himself.
He is amazing on the field, but awful at everything else when left alone.
Whenever he is away from work, taking care of himself becomes downright impossible.
He is an awful cook. Most of his diet consists of simple meals and fast food from the store around the corner of his apartment block.
His flat isn't in the best condition either. He doesn't clean it often besides the bare minimum (the bare minimum being vacuuming and wiping the dust one time whenever he is back home, and never again until he is called to work). Not that much is there to clean, anyways. The tiny kitchen and living room is mostly empty. Even his bedroom consists of nothing but a mattress on the floor on one, and a small cabinet on the other side.
But personal hygiene becomes particularly difficult. He doesn't take baths - only cold, quick showers once a week, and sometimes he forgets to brush his teeth, too. Not that Ghost does it on purpose, of course. He genuinely forgets, and the awful smell of his flat sometimes makes it hard to tell if its his own odor or the full trashcan across the room.
It's how he found himself sitting on the edge of the bathtub, fighting the exhaustion after forgetting to sleep once again. There is a hand on his jaw, keeping his head still. Ghost feels a blade brush over his cheeks and chin carefully. Soft breathing was audible in the otherwise silent bathroom, and whenever Ghost looked up, concentrated green eyes looked back at him.
-"We are almost done here", Roach spoke, his tone patient and calm. Ghost wanted to nod, but the blade made him reconsider.
-"Okay"
-"You don't look half bad with a beard", Gary chuckled. "But this is way too long"
-"You said that five times now"
-"Making sure you don't forget"
Gary moves his hand away, trusting that Ghost would be able to keep his head upright himself as he helped him shave the other side. The sharp razor only tingled the skin a little. Gary was good at his job, not once slipping up and cutting Simon. Not that it would make much of a difference, either. One scar added to the mess that was Ghost's face wouldn't stand out, but Roach was purposely careful to not let it get there.
-"Alright.." Roach brushed the blade over Ghost's cheek one last time. "Can you wash your face yourself?"
-"Mhm" Ghost looked down to the wet floor for a moment. It was covered in light brown hairs, but that was his own fault for not being able to stand from exhaustion.
He walked up to the sink and washed his face while Gary cleaned the floor. Ghost wanted to tell him not to bother, since it would get dirty later anyways, but he knew that wouldn't stop the Sargeant.
Gary collected most of the hairs in toilet paper and flushed them down the toilet before cleaning the rest with a rag, all while Simon continued looking at himself in the small mirror. His skin felt smooth, and he looked at least five years younger. He dared say he looked handsome, even, but only when he squinted a bit. Seriously, what did Roach see in him?
-"Do you like it?"
A gorgeous blonde appeared behind Ghost in the mirror, wrapping his arms around him and pressing him into his chest.
-"What would I do without you?", Simon replied, smiling a little.
-"My handsome man" Gary smiled, squishing Simon’s cheeks a little to create a duckface. "So pretty"
-"Need glasses?"
Simon chuckled at the gentle kick against his leg. "Shut up"
The two stood there for a moment, enjoying the warmth, but exhaustion was starting to take over Simon’s body. The last thing he felt before he was led to his bedroom was a soft kiss against his newly smooth cheek and jaw.
Simon was awful at taking care of himself. But sometimes it felt nice to be taken care of.
