Scott Is A Bad Friend Plus Peter

Summary:

When Stiles shows up to school with Danny and Jackson, Scott doesn’t take it very well. Plus a sprinkle of Peter.

Notes:

For Slayer_of_Destiny; again, thank you for encouraging me to watch Teen Wolf

Also, I have gone back to part one and fixed it so that Jackson only left for a few months; thanks to hard_2_think for pointing out that inconsistency.

Cuddling Part Four: Scott Is A Bad Friend Plus Peter

As expected, Scott was not really pleased to see Stiles arrive at the school with Jackson and Danny; to the point that as soon as Stiles was close enough to him, Scott grabbed his arm and pulled him into an empty classroom.  He slammed the door closed, almost causing damage as he didn’t even try to control his strength, and turned to face Stiles.  “What the hell are you doing with them?!  Jackson literally tried to kill us just a few months ago!  I know that we need to keep an eye on him but driving to school with him in his car is going too far.  And Danny?  Why are you spending time with him?  Is that why you didn’t answer when I called you last night?  Why aren’t you. . .”

Backing away from the angry werewolf Stiles listened.  He knew that Scott wouldn’t be happy but this was a bit much; why was he acting like he was supposed to be the center of Stiles’s world?  Did he really mean so little to Scott that he thought it was acceptable to forcibly drag him places?  Did he even truly matter to Scott anymore?  Or was he just there?  Scott hadn’t even noticed that he had been tortured and practically refused to listen when he had tried to tell him.  All he really cared about was Allison, and getting her back.  Why would it matter if he didn’t answer the phone the one time Scott had called him last night?

It was too much, “Whoa!  Will you just shut up for a minute?!  Jackson wasn’t the one trying to kill us, Matt was.  And then it was Gerard after he killed Matt.  Which, need I remind you that I told you it was Matt from the beginning; he had always had a habit of being cruel to animals and was way too creepy.  And I’m not ‘keeping an eye on Jackson’, I didn’t even know that he was going to be there this morning until he showed up; and considering the amount of damage that my jeep took after crashing through a brick wall, which I’m still paying off by the way, I wasn’t about to turn down a ride to school.  And what the hell is wrong with me spending time with Danny?

“Really, what’s wrong with me spending my time with whoever the hell I want to?  It’s not like we really spend that much time together anyways; you’re always either too busy with Allison or you’re too busy trying to win her back.  Never mind the fact that she attacked us and helped dear old Grandpa Gerard kidnap me, and then turned around to ‘help’ find me.  She knew where I was and she knew that Boyd and Erica were there too.  So, really, she’s part of the reason that they’re missing.  But it’s ‘not her fault’ because she was hurting, her mom had just died; yeah, after trying to kill you!  But you refuse to tell her about that!  And yes, Danny is the reason that I didn’t answer when you called last night, the one time that you’ve called me in the past week.  I was at Danny’s.  I was cuddling Danny.  I was kissing Danny.  I’m going to be dating Danny.  And you want to know the best part, Jackson is way more accepting of it than you are.”

With that said, Stiles shoved past Scott, wrenched the door open, and stormed out.  That he stormed out and directly into Danny’s chest was a definite win.  He wrapped his arms around the other boy and squeezed him before relaxing, all the tension leaving his body causing him to almost melt in relief.  The taller boy quickly wrapped his arms around the other and helped to keep him standing as Jackson quickly sauntered past them into the classroom and closed the door.

“So, tell me, McCall, what exactly is your problem?  Because I always thought that you and Stilinski had a ride-or-die type of friendship; and yet here you are hurting him and sending him into panic attacks the moment you see him.  Why is it that I know more about what happened to him in that psychopath’s basement than you do?  Is your head really so far up Allison’s ass that you can’t see what’s going on?  Although, perhaps the real question is, are you really so horny that you don’t care about your best friend, your brother , anymore?  Leave him alone until he tells you he’s ready to talk to you again.”  With that said, Jackson turned and left the room before Scott could say anything in his defense, leaving the boy to, hopefully, think about how he has been acting lately.

Outside the classroom, Danny just held Stiles and did his best to provide comfort and support.  He knew that Jackson was more than capable of taking care of Scott.  Even though Jackson and Stiles had been rivals for years now, he knew that Jackson would still defend him to the ends of the earth; after all, once Jackson decides that you’re his friend, you’re his friend for life, fights and all.  Focusing on the boy in his arms Danny softly said, “Come on.  Let’s go to the locker room.  I know you have a free period and I think you could use some cuddles.”

With that, he pulled back just enough that they would both be able to walk and led the way to the locker rooms, knowing that Jackson would have heard him and would likely show up to make sure that they, mostly Stiles, were okay.

Once making it to the locker room the two boys found that it wasn’t completely empty.  Coach was there, and was now staring at them in suspicion.  “Why aren’t you two in class?”

“We both have a free period and decided to come make sure we had everything ready for today’s practice.  After all, we wouldn’t want to start getting ready only to realize that we don’t have our pads, or the right socks, or that our nets aren’t tied as well as they should be.  That would just end with you being unhappy and us missing practice because we would have to go back home to fix the problem.  So we thought that we’d check now so that we can take care of any of those issues.  But if you want. . .”

Coach held up a hand to stop Stiles, “I don’t know why I asked you.  I really need to stop doing that.  Nothing good ever comes from asking you questions.”  With that coach walked away to go hide in his office.

Danny didn’t even try to hide his smile as he looked at Stiles, it had still amazed him how the other boy could talk his way out of anything and everything.  Although he knew that Stiles hadn’t always been able to do so, he had started when his mom was in the hospital and everyone kept asking him how he felt.  And then when his dad started drinking too much Stiles started using his words to avoid telling people what was going on at home because he didn’t want to be taken away from his dad or for his dad to get into trouble.  That was also when the shorter boy had started to randomly turn in reports that didn’t have anything to do with the assigned topic, let alone the class.

He couldn’t help the small chuckle that escaped his lips as he wrapped his arms around Stiles’ waist and gently kissed his forehead.  “Are you okay?  I know that Scott’s been your friend for a long time but he hasn’t always been the most understanding.  What’s more, since Allison got here, he’s only gotten worse.  And I will completely understand if you don’t want to talk about it right now; just know that if you do, I’m willing to listen.”

Stiles couldn’t believe how lucky he was; not only did he have a hot boyfriend but he was also so sweet. Plus, he seemed to be completely fine with Stiles using him as a giant teddy bear; it was the best.  He snuggled into the taller boy and felt his arms tighten around him, making him feel so safe and secure.  With his right ear over Danny’s heart, letting the sound calm him even further he spoke, “I can’t say that I’m okay because it would be a lie.  I knew that he wouldn’t take it very well because I didn’t run it by him first; he has always tried to be my only friend, I think because he doesn’t want to be alone.  He’s always had that issue, but it got worse after his dad left.  I’m not sure how much he remembers about why his dad left, I’m not supposed to know, but I’ve always had a habit of reading my dad's case files.  I found out what happened and I’ve never said anything to Scott, I knew that he wouldn’t be able to handle it when we were younger, and these days, well, these days the slightest hint of something not going his way and he starts to go wolf.

“Peter really should have never bitten him; granted, Peter was literally crazy at the time, and dealing with some major PTSD from both the fire and nurse bad touch.  I’m actually kind of glad that Peter killed her, women get off way too easy when it comes to sexual assault charges, and male victims are turned into jokes; I mean, just because someone’s a guy doesn’t mean that he wants to have sex with everyone.

“Although, if Peter hadn’t bitten Scott then he would have bitten me.  And I don’t want to deal with that; which is why I turned down the bite when Peter offered.  Plus, he offered to bite me on the wrist; which, the more I think about it, is really strange.  Almost all transformation bites are on the side; I remember reading something about bites to the wrist.  What was it?”

Danny blinked.  Once.  Twice.  And a third time before shaking his head and giving an incredulous laugh.  Never had he wanted to be inside someone’s head as much as he wanted to be inside of Stiles’.  The way every thought could just flow and connect to each other was amazing; he was going to be damn sure that Stiles knew that.  Although, before he could say anything to Stiles the locker room door opened and Jackson walked in with a look on his face that Danny knew; it was the look Jackson always had when he knew something that someone else didn’t, and he knew that the information would hurt the person.

“What?  What do you know?”

“. . . wrist . . . means . . . deserve happiness . . . stupid werewolf . . . don’t want to tell.”

Stiles, who had ended up muttering under his breath to himself about werewolf bites and stupid werewolves who never answer his questions, turned around in Danny’s arms and stared at Jackson.  “What do you know?  What do you not want to tell us?  If you know something, you need to tell us.”

The war inside Jackson’s mind was clearly written on his face.  He knew that once he told them Danny’s happiness would almost certainly end and he would likely be heartbroken; and if there was one thing that Jackson hated more than anything, even more than the thought of being unwanted, it was when Danny got his hopes up only to end up with those hopes shattered.  On the other hand, Stiles was far too good at getting information out of people.  Maybe the heartbreak wouldn’t be too bad this time since it would be coming so early in the relationship.  With a heavy sigh and a heavier heart Jackson made the choice to break his friend’s heart, “A bite on the wrist is a mating bite.  It means that Peter, even when crazy, recognized you as his mate; the other half of his soul.”

After all of the crazy shit that happened over the last year, finally getting a boyfriend, and the shit-show that was Scott this morning, Stiles did the only thing that made sense to him.  He gave a single, humorless laugh.  And then he fainted.

A.N. - So, I’m not sure what my plan for this was, but this wasn’t it.  Granted, my original plan was to just have the first part only, but now I’m on part four.  I guess that Peter is now going to be part of this series; I don’t totally hate the idea.  I might have a thing for sarcastic smartasses and now there will be two of them.  I wonder where the muse will take me next.
