Work Text:
Jisung had a good dream after weeks of nightmares, although he doesn't remember much of it, he just knew it had something to do with the Terminator giving him a packet of extra spicy ramen for his birthday while he sang a Shinee song, but other than that he remembers very little.
Slowly opening his eyes, the first thing he saw was his best friend's orange hair on his face, so he winced and turned his head.
He sat up slowly, yawning, and he jumped a little at the presence in the chair in front of his computer.
"Good morning, how do you feel?" Jaemin asked from the chair, an amused smile on his lips, and Jisung went blank.
Jaemin's smile was beautiful in his opinion, even though Chenle said that he was crazy because Jaemin's smile was creepy, but Jisung didn't expect his best friend to understand him in something like this.
Even so, he had to give him some reason, because now, recently woken up, and with Jaemin looking at him from his place with his deep and dark eyes, Jisung felt all his hair stand on end.
"Good… oh shit" he exclaimed, embarrassed when he noticed the absence of his shirt, lying down quickly and removing Chenle's sheet to cover himself "I'm fine"
"Are you sure? Yesterday you put up a fight" Jaemin said with some concern without losing his smile and approached.
"Yeah, completely fine," Jisung said nervously, using the sheet to cover his face as well, and heard Jaemin laugh, followed by a groan from Chenle.
"It's cold" Chenle tried to remove the sheet, but Jisung clung to it as if his life depended on it "Ugh! Yesterday you almost wanted to eat us and today you won't even let me sleep anymore? How inconsiderate"
"Yesterday I what?!" Jisung exclaimed in surprise, removing the sheet from his face but keeping it on his chest.
"Oh, so you don't remember," Chenle said, sitting back against the headboard, a sharp smile on his lips that was rendered ineffective by his tousled hair and rosy cheeks, "turns out you were right, Jeno's a shapeshifter"
"I told you!" Jisung sat up again, this time with the sheet still covering him, it was good when he was right, he had seen Jeno transform into a wolf in one of his visions, but Chenle had been determined not to believe him just so he could keep flirting with him.
"But he turns into a dog ," Chenle said rolling his eyes "He was quite adorable, not like you, the guy scratched you a little and you were already a hideous thing, salivating, and you almost ate Renjun" He grimaced as if imitating the appearance he had the night before.
"Okay I got it" Jisung stopped him before he could continue "Why don't I have a shirt?"
"You were boiling, Lele's grandmother said it was better to let you cool a bit," Jaemin said standing by the bed, just looking at him. Jisung felt another chill.
"Thank you," Jisung said softly, and Chenle snorted next to him, he looked back at his best friend "Why aren't you at your house?"
"Because I don't want to," Chenle shrugged. "We always have sleepovers" At this Jaemin chuckled lightly, and Jisung felt a little embarrassed, but he just sighed to stay on topic.
"Will I ever transform again?" Jisung said then, a little more concerned, looking at his arm and noticing that the bandage where Jeno had scratched him was still there.
"Nah, my antidote worked perfectly, you won't have any more dog problems" Chenle assured calmly, and when he saw that face on his best friend he was able to relax.
"Well, since you guys woke up, I'll go," Jaemin said grabbing the jacket that was behind Jisung's door "Don't forget to prepare breakfast"
"Oh, s-sure, be careful," Jisung said, sitting up straighter, Jaemin laughed a little and waved goodbye to both of them, leaving the room.
When they were alone, Jisung sighed dreamily, an unconscious action that he doesn't know when it started, just as he was not sure when his little crush on Jaemin started growing.
"We have to work on that," he heard Chenle say next to him, Jisung finally loosened his grip on the sheet, and Chenle quickly grabbed it, covering his body, looking at Jisung as he got up and searched his closet for clothes “you know you look like an idiot sometimes, don't you? and I say that with love"
"I know, thanks," Jisung muttered, dressing quickly.
"Hum, how do you really feel?" Chenle then asked while Jisung walked slowly back to his bed.
"Okay, I'm a little hungry," Jisung said sincerely, and Chenle raised one of his eyebrows at this last "Hungry for cereal! Don't bother me" Jisung complained, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at Chenle who laughed.
They ended up sitting on the sofa, it was always nice, free time where they did the usual things, ate their cereal while watching an episode of The Boys .
Chenle had taken the sheet with him and had wrapped himself up, for his part Jisung didn't know if his friend was exaggerating, or he was still boiling, but he wasn't cold, something strange about him which he found nice.
He heard footsteps going down the stairs, the person not trying to be careful at all, and if Jisung gave himself the credit of knowing her very well (which he did) he could guess that she had gone down with little jumps.
"Where's Nana?" his younger sister asked as her round eyes took in the room.
She was ready to go to her extra English classes on Saturdays, immediately asking about her babysitter's absence, leaning on the back of the sofa.
"Where are your manners?" Chenle complained, looking at her and she just smiled, hugging him from behind the sofa, making the redhead smile immediately.
"Good morning," she said, leaving a quick kiss on Chenle's cheek and then doing the same on his brother's cheek.
"Serve yourself and eat, they'll arrive quickly for you," Jisung said without taking his eyes off the TV as he spooned the colorful cereal into his mouth, his sister came back quickly and sat between them, "Eunchae You can't watch this!"
“I'm ten years old! I'm not going to watch anyway, I just want to eat comfortably,” The girl said, frowning and covering her legs with part of the sheet that was left over from Chenle's burrito.
"Why did you grab the fine plate? I won't wash it for you” Jisung said with full cheeks as soon as he saw the plate her sister had chosen for her cereal, the girl rolled her eyes and snorted.
"I know, I'll wash it, how annoying" she replied with the same tone of voice Jisung used, and they both looked at Chenle strangely when he laughed at both of them, "You didn't tell me where Nana went"
“He doesn't get paid to take care of you today, he's gone,” Jisung said as he was about to scoop in another spoonful, nearly spilling his food when Eunchae hit him on the shoulder “Do you want me to lie to you?”
"I know you're telling me lies now" his little sister complained before eating her cereal "He spends time here even when he doesn't have to take care of me"
"He couldn't stay today," Jisung muttered, still not taking his eyes off the TV, and hearing Eunchae mutter.
"Is that why you are irritable today?" Eunchae said, stuffing a big spoonful into her mouth.
"What?" Jisung almost choked on the cereal and finally looked at his sister. Was he irritable? Since when?
"It's that, and also the residue of what happened yesterday, his wolf anger and that," Chenle said matter-of-factly without even looking at Jisung.
"Huh? You said there would be no repercussions.” Jisung said in surprise, staring at Chenle, who only glanced at him.
"Everything will go away completely in a couple more hours, don't worry," Chenle said calmly, Jisung felt that he was toying with him and growled, after having released that sound he froze, well, Chenle was right.
"So... when are you going to ask Jaemin out on a date?" Eunchae asked out of nowhere, and this time she managed to make Jisung choke on his cereal and start coughing repeatedly, Chenle's laughter sounding louder than the volume of the TV.
"He wants to do it before the weekend, but I doubt it," Chenle said, still laughing, that's why he liked Eunchae, they both agreed to attack Jisung with questions and truths that he didn't want to face (even if Eunchae sometimes didn't do it on purpose)
Jisung had firmly believed for 17 years that he had lived in the most boring small town in all of Ontario, until things in Whitechapel had turned hectic a year ago, and his life had taken a turn, to put it simply, due to complications of fate (and being a "bad brother" according to his parents) he had acquired a babysitter, who by the way, is a vampire, surprise! And on top of that, he was the most beautiful boy Jisung had ever seen in his life.
Since then there were few days when he wasn't busy, and there were very few times when he saw himself in the ability to make a breakthrough or ask Jaemin out on a date, he didn't think he was that bad anyway, he had left clues, and he thinks his occasional nervous attitude was indicative, but it had never been clear, he knew it had to be.
"I'll do it before the end of this week!" Jisung exclaimed, and this time he was determined, he managed to get Chenle to look at his face, his narrowed eyes analyzing Jisung.
"Fine, I believe you," Chenle nodded "but I will hold you responsible, if you don't, I'll try a new potion on you” That threat worked wonders because Jisung was more willing to face rejection and live in shame his whole life over letting Chenle use him as a guinea pig.
“Okay, that doesn't scare me,” Jisung said with a shrug, still looking at his best friend, but he swallowed hard, feeling a little nervous.
“That guy just got his head blown off!” Eunchae exclaimed in the middle of the two pointing to the television, and they both became alarmed.
Jisung and Chenle looked at her at the same time, “Eunchae I told you not to watch!” Jisung yelled at the same time Chenle said "What the hell happened?!" and with the control began to delay the episode.
.
On Monday he didn't arrive at school with much determination, just as he didn't think asking someone out on a date on a Monday was a good idea, so even though he thought about it a lot, he didn't feel overly overwhelmed either.
"Jisung!" A female voice startled him the moment he closed his locker, he glared at the girl who was now next to him, laughing at his expression.
"Just because you're fast doesn't mean you have to appear out of nowhere," Jisung said, placing a hand on his chest, glaring at Ningning.
"Nobody noticed," the girl brushed it off, not pointing out the fact he made "How are you? After the wolf thing and that, I forgot to ask you"
"I'm fine, thanks" They both started walking, they had to go to the music room where Chenle was supposed to be waiting for them.
"It doesn't bother you... well, how you acted" Ningning asked, trying to hide her smile, Jisung looked at her with a frown.
"I know I tried to eat you guys, Renjun sent me very detailed messages of what I should do to earn his forgiveness."
“Yes that” the girl laughed “but, you know, also when you didn't stop flirting with Jaemin”
"What?!" Jisung exclaimed, he was immediately embarrassed for having spoken so loudly and ignored the strange looks, he kept walking and took a breath "What are you talking about?"
"Sung, you wanted to rip Renjun's head off, and also mine'" the girl began to explain, apparently he had been aggressive with every vampire that approached him "But with Jaemin, it was like you wanted to eat him, the other way"
"My God no," Jisung hid his face in his hands frustrated, "Please tell me it wasn't that bad," he said muffled, barely noticing where he was walking.
"Well… I wasn't there all the time" Ningning said embarrassed, Jisung sighed removing his hands from his face "You should talk about it with Jaem"
"Are you crazy?" Jisung turned to look at her. "I can't, what if I was too embarrassing? I'd rather not remember it"
Yizhou seemed to want to say something else but stopped when a noise was heard in a classroom they were passing through, with the door open they both looked inside for a bit.
On the floor, there were pieces of glass, a liquid spilled, and a disheveled boy who looked like he was in trouble.
Jisung had planned to keep walking, but for some reason, he walked into the classroom. It felt wrong to leave this person fixing the whole mess completely on their own.
"Let me help you," Jisung muttered, bending down and starting to carefully pick up pieces of glass.
"Thank you," the boy said with a giggle, and Jisung looked up, he was a little surprised, the boy in front of him was quite cute.
"Uh, yeah it's nothing," he said with a giggle, that was… weird, Jisung was a nervous boy but he never reacted like that to anyone, only Jaemin, much less someone he had just seen.
He stared a little longer at the boy in front of him, he had beautiful eyes, and his face was adorned with moles. There was something... strange about him, Jisung couldn't identify it, suddenly he felt a sharp pain in the palm of his hand.
He dropped the piece of glass that he had grabbed and that had cut his hand, he looked at his palm in surprise, and blood began to flow mixing with the unknown substance.
"Shit, these aren't chemicals, right?" He asked, now quite concerned, he looked into the stranger's eyes, for a second there was doubt, but soon they changed as a smile formed on his lips.
"They're not chemicals," he chuckled softly "You'll be fine, let me help you" The boy extended his tanned hand, Jisung noticed that there was a strange mark on his palm but he didn't pay much attention.
He was about to thank him, but the moment their hands touched his throat closed, he took a deep breath as he felt how his body acted on its own.
He was having a vision, fragments of the moments began to appear and he easily knew it was from the future, a premonition.
There were only two images, the first was on the outskirts of the church, it was night and dark, the usual atmosphere that made his hair stand on end.
And the second one was from Jaemin, a grimace on his face, his mouth was slightly open and his fangs were visible next to those yellow eyes, strangely melancholic.
When he felt how his body was his again, he felt disoriented for a couple of seconds, quickly recovering his composure.
"Are you okay?" He asked, looking at Jisung curiously.
"I'm perfect, sorry" Jisung assured, still thinking about what he had just seen and what it could mean, the boy smiled.
"Come, I'll help you with your hand" he got up without letting go of his hand "I'm Donghyuck, by the way"
"Jisung" he nodded before saying his name, and let out a little groan, his hand hurt.
"Your friend ran away the second you cut yourself," Donghyuck said with a chuckle "Is she scared of blood?"
"You could say" Jisung replied, of course, Ningning had fled at the first hint of the smell of his blood, it seems that he was special, almost irresistible, but Donghyuck didn't have to know that.
“It will hurt a little,” Donghyuck said slightly embarrassed, however, Jisung felt that he wasn't sorry enough, and he squealed as the disinfectant fell on his palm, burning "You handle it fairly well"
“I'm a tough guy,” Jisung said, taking a breath, his voice came out a little strained and made Donghyuck laugh, finishing cleaning his hand.
"I realize," Donghyuck said, looking Jisung in the eye and then looking at his shirt and pointing at the Star Trek print with a smile "Nerd boy"
“I've been called worse,” Jisung said, unable to hide his smile as he stood up straight “I should go now” he could see how tall he was next to the tanned boy.
“I bet” he laughed melodiously "you should go to the infirmary anyway," Donghyuck said with a frown, Jisung nodded "By the way, if you... uh" Jisung looked at him confused, Hyuck seemed to think about it a little more before he shook his head "No, forget it, have a good day" he ended with a smile waving goodbye.
"Okay... Bye" Jisung said, a little surprised but decided not to think about it too much, he said goodbye and went straight to the infirmary.
.
"You're so clumsy" Chenle shook his head when they met at the end of the school day, Jisung now had a bandage on his left forearm and another on the palm of his right hand "You'll give your parents a heart attack" Jisung sighed.
“That's not important right now,” he said, both of them slowly walking out of the school “As I was telling you, after that, I had a vision when this cute guy touched me” and as soon as the words escaped his lips he put his hand over his mouth.
"Cute guy?" Chenle looked at him puzzled, he looked at him with wide eyes "Was a cute guy enough to make you forget about Jaemin?"
“No! I don't know why I said that I swear I didn't want to” Jisung began to excuse himself nervously.
"Damn Sung relax," Chenle said, looking at him with some amusement, Jisung sighed but soon felt a soft tap on his rib, courtesy of Chenle's elbow "Shut up, Jeno and Mark are coming this way"
Jisung pouted a little but did as Chenle asked, Lee Jeno and Mark Lee approached them, Jisung felt that it was the weirdest sight someone like him could have, above dealing with vampires, witches, ghosts, demons, and zombies, the sight of the two most popular guys, star players of the hockey team, talking friendly with them, will still be the most shocking.
Jisung was silent, simply nodding his head when they greeted him, not precisely because Chenle asked him to, but because he simply didn't know what to say, he had only recently started talking to them, and Jisung was a little embarrassed by the way he had talked about Jeno behind his back with the whole weredog thing.
"Yo, are you alright?" Mark Lee, the school's golden boy, in his WHS logo jacket, asked, pointing at his hand, surprising him a bit.
“Yeah... just a tiny cut,” Jisung said looking at his hand, Mark nodded.
"He got distracted by a cute guy" Chenle annoyed him, and there Jisung knew that he would never let him get over that, before he could notice it, his mouth was moving.
“You get distracted all the time by cute guys, it's literally the reason you fell into a hole last week,” Jisung said and then covered his mouth in surprise, he looked at Chenle and Jeno, both surprised, and suddenly Mark Lee started laughing.
"We have to go," Chenle then said, "See you later" he waved goodbye to both of them and began to drag Jisung out of there, Jeno had been taken aback while Mark seemed to have heard the best joke of his life.
Jisung didn't take his hand from his mouth the whole way home, Chenle hadn't stopped muttering as they walked faster than normal.
When they got to the door, Chenle couldn't help it and started complaining “What's wrong with you? You know I have to look cool in front of them!”
"Chenle, that doesn't interest them, they saw you sing the Five Nights at Freddy's songs at the talent show when you were thirteen, if they accept you now it's with everything and that" When he finished speaking he looked at Chenle with wide eyes, what was going on? Why couldn't he control anything he said?
"What the hell is wrong with you today?!" Chenle complained as Jisung had trouble with the keys, despite his frown, he gently took the keys from Jisung's hands to help and open the door.
“I don't know! Maybe it's a leftover from the werewolf thing?" Jisung said, but Chenle denied it, claiming that it was impossible, the time had passed, and it didn't make sense "Then I have no idea"
“What don't you know?" Both he and Chenle screamed at the sudden appearance, Chenle opened the door and then glared at the vampire.
“Renjun, you scared the shit out of me,” Jisung complained with a whimper.
"Watch your fucking mouth loser, I'm here because you owe me," Renjun said, crossing his arms, Jisung sighed, it was true, he didn't like it when Renjun talked to him like that, but after apparently wanting to eat him, it was the least he could do.
“Don't talk to the baby like that” Jaemin also appeared almost out of nowhere, but this time Chenle and Jisung didn't get too startled, Jaemin gasped and grabbed Jisung's wrist “What happened to you now?!”
"Oh no, should I go?" Renjun asked with narrowed eyes, Jisung and Chenle shook their heads.
“Jisung here got distracted by a cute guy and-” Chenle started, but with his left hand Jisung covered his mouth and pulled him into the house.
“Both of you can come in,” Jisung said, inviting them, with a nervous giggle, letting go of Chenle and walking into his house.
After explaining that Jisung wouldn't turn into a disgusting werewolf (Renjun's words) they managed to relax and fall into a bit of a routine, and although Renjun couldn't keep the act of being angry with him for long and had already told him that he didn't have to do anything that required using his hand too much, Jisung decided it was a good idea to prepare some food while the rest did their homework.
"So... a cute guy?" Jisung turned to see Jaemin, who slowly entered the kitchen, a small smile on his lips, Jisung shook his head.
“He was cute, '' he admitted. What was he doing? What was he going to say? “but not cuter than you” and Jisung's brain went into shutdown.
“Good to know,” Jaemin said, and when Jisung dared to look at him, he felt his cheeks start to boil, Jaemin's smile was definitely the cutest on earth “Jisung! How hard is it to take care of yourself?” He surprised him out of nowhere, using that peculiar tone between a complaint and a scolding.
"I hadn't noticed," Jisung said as he watched Jaemin take his hand, he had gripped the ladle too tightly, and his wound had started to bleed a little again.
The next thing he felt was a slight breeze, and in a blink, Jaemin had the first aid kit in his hands, Jisung couldn't say much by the time Jaemin's hands gently wrapped around him and he removed the bandage.
“Oh, I forgot, but when Donghyuck touched my hand, I had a vision,” Jisung said softly.
"Donghyuck?" Jaemin asked confused, Jisung took a slow breath as he noticed how Jaemin couldn't take his eyes off his hand.
"The cute guy."
“Oh,” Jaemin He nodded, finally enveloping his hand, he had brought it closer to his face without noticing it "And what did you see?"
Jisung told him the vision, Jaemin had snorted slightly when he heard about his expression, clearly not worried that something in the future would upset him.
“That's… interesting” Jaemin had said, but he was still holding Jisung's hand with subtle force.
He wondered if he should be alarmed, but he trusted Jaemin so much, in the past, even when other vampires didn't hesitate to jump at Jisung when he was bleeding, Jaemin had stood up for him, and even though he had bent a light pole forcibly while resisting his hunger, when he had wiped the tears from his face he had been so gentle.
“I know… it was also strange to see it when Donghyuck touched me” Jisung murmured, he dared to raise his hand, placing it on Jaemin's cheek, he regretted a little that he couldn't feel his skin because of the bandage, but there was something about seeing how he relaxed and took a breath, almost looking like one of his cats when they were caressed, that made Jisung felt so entranced.
“Sorry,” Jaemin seemed to react, moving away from his hand a bit, he looked beautiful with his hair slightly disheveled from his trip a few hours ago, a slightly embarrassed expression that he didn't usually wear “That was weird”
"You're so hot," Jisung stammered, his words coming out without him wanting them to, he immediately choked on his saliva, almost as if he might vomit his heart out, Jaemin stared at him with his mouth open and an incredulous expression "Please forget that-"
"That was gross," Jisung let out a whimper and hid his face in his hands when Renjun reached the kitchen, despite his words the laugh that left his lips was kind, and he stroked Jisung's hair as he walked past him to look for the food that Jisung and Jaemin had left behind.
.
Jisung had thought that Tuesday would be a better day, but it was only the third hour of the day and he was already walking out of the principal's office for saying some… not-nice things about his history teacher in front of the entire classroom, as well as picking on a couple of his classmates earlier that morning.
"Don't mope Sung" Chenle said next to him, his best friend had expressed his opinions too and that's how the two of them ended up together. Jisung thanked him so much, he hated being alone in these situations "What's happening to you..." It wasn't exactly a question, so Jisung didn't answer.
His new vomit of words felt a bit similar to his visions, just in the way that he had no control of his body when they happened, it had been hard at first to get used to this when his body suddenly decided it wanted to show him a vision, but over the last year, he had gotten used to it, and had even learned to control it a bit.
But this 'not being able to shut his mouth' thing was new, and he didn't want to have to go through that again, besides, talking too much had always been Chenle's thing.
They ended up leaving with a pass to detention, Jisung sighed feeling a little bad that Chenle had to get into this for him, but when the boy started to say how they could use that extra time at school to make positions of his book in the lab, he assumes that it hadn't done him too much harm either.
Walking down the hall, he listened to Chenle say all the options of what could be happening according to things he had researched in places as reliable as internet pages, Jisung quickly discarding ideas.
The bell rang, letting the students out, and at the beginning of recess, Jisung got closer to Chenle due to the number of students that were filling the halls, and by mistake, he bumped into someone
“Sorry,” Jisung said, gasping before being pulled into another vision.
They were the first two images again, but now another one had appeared, Renjun furious, and most surprisingly, grabbing Donghyuck with his arms behind his back, pressing him against the floor, Chenle to the side, turning the pages of his book.
Jisung tried to see more and apply the things he had learned about his powers throughout the year.
He was able to see what seemed to be the past, Donghyuck was walking behind a man, and his cheeks looked plumper.
The place was dark and small, like a cave, and suddenly something was shown… like a statue that Hyuck touched, he released it with a grimace when it burned his hand, and he screamed scared, then he saw his arm shift, terror on his face.
"Oh, Jisung," Donghyuck smiled kindly at him when he was back in the school corridor, it was an abysmal contrast.
"Donghyuck, what a surprise to see you here," he blurted out nervously, Chenle at his side raised an eyebrow.
“Well, I study here so…” Donghyuck said, puzzled and a little teasing, Jisung felt slightly foolish.
"Uh, I'm Chenle, his best friend, and I'm sorry but we have to go now," To his salvation Chenle intervened, holding him and saying goodbye, quickly leaving Donghyuck behind, walking a little away from there "What did you see?" He asked immediately the moment they were left alone.
"It's better if we're all together" Jisung sighed, and Chenle nodded, both of them left even faster.
When they were about to leave the school, the chemistry teacher stopped them with a big smile. He was in charge of watching over the detention students and it seems that he had already identified them.
Unable to complain and with Chenle covering his mouth before making him earn even more days in detention, they found themselves in the library, just them and the teacher, who now, thanks to Chenle's spell, lay fast asleep.
"Okay, I texted Jaemin," Jisung said with a sigh, looking at Chenle reading a book, "How come you always get such bizarre books in the school library?"
"I have no idea Sung" Chenle said, turning pages until a statue similar to the one in his vision appeared.
"There! Hyuck grabbed that before he transformed,” Jisung pointed, Chenle stopped and they quickly heard footsteps, Renjun and Jaemin approaching.
"Another shapeshifter?" Renjun said with a grimace "I think I prefer zombies now"
“I think the cute guy is cursed,” Chenle said, looking at the page “Yep, bad idea to dig into dangerous caves”
"Do you know what triggers it?" Jaemin asked, looking at both of them, his eyes fixing on Jisung, he felt his cheeks turn red and words began to accumulate on his tongue.
“Well, in the visions it was night but…” Jisung started, trying not to look at Jaemin or think about him.
"Say no more, let's go find him," Renjun suddenly said, they hadn't even sat down, Jisung hadn't even finished describing all his visions.
"What?!" Chenle looked at them surprised.
"He could be dangerous, and we still don't know what he did to Jisung," Renjun intervened, Jisung felt a little bad, clearly his rejection towards shapeshifters was his fault, "We have to make him talk before he transforms"
"Well yeah... but be careful, don't hurt him," Jisung said, Renjun and Jaemin looked at him in disbelief.
“You think that we'll hurt him?" Jaemin asked with an incredulous laugh, Jisung hadn't meant it that way.
"Yes," Jisung stumbled over his words "You're vampires, sometimes you don't control your strength well," he began, but before feeling a grand vomit of words, Renjun intervened.
"I think we have enough practice," He said snorting, Jisung swallowed dry, of all the words that were going around in his head, he didn't know which one was going to come out.
“I know, but I like him and I want you to be careful,” Jisung froze as soon as he said it, wanting to explain immediately.
“Fine, we'll be careful with him,” Jaemin said with a small smile, and Jisung couldn't open his mouth because he had already disappeared.
“As a possible friend!” Jisung yelled, “Shit, damn superspeed!”
“Well, it's better if we catch up with them,” Chenle said, feigning ignorance, Jisung looked at him.
"Jaemin understood me right," Jisung said with some despair "Whenever he's in front of me I try not to think about him and say strange things, if I didn't say that I would have confessed that I'm in love with him and that I would love to put my-" Chenle covered his mouth.
“I definitely don't want to know that,” his best friend said between shrill laughs as he slung his backpack over his shoulder.
"What… I wasn't about to say anything dirty!” Jisung fought back by doing the same and following him, almost tripping over his own feet.
“Come on Jisung, walk,” Chenle hurried him out of the library, making Jisung groan.
Jisung was breathing heavily as they arrived at the church, they had stopped by his house to change, Chenle hastily concocted a potion, and Eunchae had been warned not to step foot outside the house that night.
“There they are,” Chenle pointed out, Jaemin wasn't there, it was just Renjun and Donghyuck, surprisingly they only seemed to talk “Are they…flirting? disgusting"
"That's Renjun's tactic," Jaemin said from behind, making both of them jump, “Kinda scary, isn't he?”
"Luckily, he didn't meet Renjun when he was obsessed with Dusk and writing fanfiction on the internet," Jisung muttered, making Chenle bite his lip to keep from laughing, "well, he still writes fanfics, just about other things."
“You're right,” Jaemin said with small giggles as well, but they didn't seem too sincere.
“Jaemin, I have something to tell you,” Jisung said seriously, Chenle next to him looked at him with narrowed eyes.
“Do you think it’s a good time?" Jaemin said, raising one of his eyebrows, Jisung couldn't concentrate, in his head, there were only millions of words that had to come out.
“It's the worst time, but I literally can't stop,” Jisung admitted.
“Okay,” Jaemin laughed, his fangs showing, as if he was ready to attack, but with that beautiful smile, Jisung couldn't feel fear.
"I'm going, you know, a little closer," Chenle hissed, quickly leaving them alone.
Jisung took a breath.
“I know you're a full vampire now, and you're going to live much longer than me, probably forever,” Jisung began, he didn't want to say that, words so depressing that immediately fell like ice on Jaemin, “And I know that you've killed people, but hey it's okay I've killed vampires too, and even though you're my sister's babysitter…” What was he saying? "I don't want you to be confused, I like Donghyuck, but the difference is that I don't like you!"
"What?" Jaemin dropped his expression, and Jisung panicked, his premonition, Jaemin's look was his fault.
"The truth is that I can't like you because-" and he had definitely chosen the worst moment because shouts and movements were heard "Oh shit!" Jisung turned and ran, there was the scene he had seen.
Renjun seemed to threaten Donghyuck with his fangs, the boy completely surprised by it, and the force of the one who kept him on the ground.
Jisung ran to them, it seemed that Donghyuck didn’t say anything, Jisung started to panic again, Chenle was looking for a spell in his book, but the one he used didn't do anything and Renjun was holding Donghyuck tightly.
“Jisung?!” Donghyuck yelled when he saw him, his face seemed furious, he was breathing very badly under Renjun, and Jisung easily noticed that he was terrified.
"Fear..." remembering his visions he concluded, "I think he transforms when he has a strong emotion!" Jisung alerted the others, at which point Renjun was pushed away, Jaemin was at his side in the blink of an eye.
"I tried to neutralize the transformation but it didn't work!" Chenle yelled, clearly disappointed that in practice he was still making mistakes, Donghyuck began to writhe, he seemed to be in pain, screaming as his body changed.
Jaemin and Renjun went after him, with their superhuman strength they managed to hold him a bit between the two of them, but Donghyuck seemed to be about to break free, he looked like a strange and terrifying hybrid with a bear.
Jisung doesn't know if he thought too much or too little, but when he noticed he had already run into the eye of the storm, despite the screams of his friends, Jisung was very clumsy, always getting hurt, the monsters always beat him in strength.
With his hands he touched Donghyuck's fur, now much taller than him, and felt the air escape from his lungs, managing to enter a vision.
Only this wasn't just a vision.
Jisung looked around, it was completely dark, but he could see a gleam, Donghyuck, who was holding his knees on the ground, he approached and crouched down, gently touching his shoulder, scaring him.
"Jisung?" Donghyuck said confused, looking around and then looking at him, "How are you here?"
"I was able to enter your mind, I've only done it a couple of times before, I'm still new to this part of my powers," Jisung stammered a bit, sitting down next to Donghyuck.
"I thought you were a human," Jisung noticed the way his chest rose and fell, he was still afraid.
“I’m a seer," Jisung said, Hyuck appeared surprised but seemed to understand quickly, Jisung continued “What… were you doing in the lab? Why can't I think before I speak?" he asked, wanting to distract Hyuck from his fear, make him think of other things, and calm him down.
"Sorry," Hyuck shrank more in place, "I had found that potion… it was only supposed to affect supernatural creatures, that's why I thought you'd be fine”
"What did you do it for?" Jisung said softly, he noticed how slowly Hyuck began to regulate his breathing, the darkness of his mind very slowly clearing up.
"I was trying to heal myself," Hyuck admitted, letting out a mocking snort. "I clearly failed."
"We can help you" Jisung assured him, those simple words made Hyuck's mind brighten more "I know a spellmaster and earth priestess, they can help you find a cure"
"Is... your thing like a curse too?" Donghyuck asked, Jisung was making it, helping him to calm his mind.
"No, I was born that way" Jisung joked, managing to get a small laugh from Hyuck "I think right now you're trying to eat the guy I'm in love with, and Renjun, and let me tell you, Renjun will never forgive you for trying to eat him."
"I can't control it," Donghyuck tried to defend himself, but Jisung noticed that his cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
"You're already doing it," he encouraged him. "Are you still terrified?"
"I was never terrified," Donghyuck smirked.
“Prove it” Jisung shrugged “Find calmness, I already gave you a push”
“Okay…" he took a breath "And by the way,” Donghyuck said searching for the words “Can you… have a blanket or something at hand? after shifting I'm always, well, naked."
“Oh, sure,” Jisung said, slightly surprised, his expression made Donghyuck laugh, making his mind much brighter, Jisung smiled one last time.
When Jisung was conscious again he saw Hyuck's monstrous arm push Renjun away and turn around, pushing him and of course, cutting his leg, making him fall to the ground.
"You gotta be kidding me!” Jisung groaned as he fell, why couldn't he stop hurting himself? That's just his luck, he pressed his hand against his wound, his blood pouring out and dirtying his hands and pants.
“Jisung!” Jaemin screamed, loosening his grip on Hyuck and running next to him "Are you okay?!" he knelt next to him, Jisung noticed his concern, but also the way he licked his lips while his hands trembled looking at the blood, Jisung felt his body heat up.
“As long as I don't turn into a bear, yes,” Jisung said, looking at his face, Jaemin looked into his eyes, it was obvious that between worry and the scent he couldn't concentrate very well, “Oh! we need a blanket!”
"What?!" Renjun said with a frown, clearly angry to be put in this situation again, but soon Donghyuck started to change, and he seemed to understand "Ugh!"
In the blink of an eye Renjun had returned with his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sheet , which Jisung knew his mother had left in the yard, Jisung felt Jaemin put his arm around his waist helping him up.
Donghyuck's figure began to return to normal, and before he fell to the ground Renjun wrapped the sheet around him, easily lifting him in his arms like a sack of potatoes.
“How did you do that Sung?” Chenle asked grimacing, coming closer and breathing heavily, his orange hair disheveled.
“I talked to him in his head,” Jisung said with a nod, barely noticing that he was also breathing heavily.
“That's some Charles Xavier -level shit, Grandma is going to be surprised,” Chenle said nodding, Jisung smiled happily with the Professor X comparison “Speaking of her, we should take this guy there,” Chenle said to Renjun when he was next to him.
"Great, so when he wakes up he can face my wrath," Renjun said, unable to control his fangs, his yellow eyes shining.
"Oh please, you think he's a cute guy too," Chenle immediately annoyed, making everyone laugh except Renjun who rolled his eyes.
"Shut up and walk," he said, getting ahead quickly, Chenle followed him as he could, complaining.
Jisung watched them until they disappeared, and he could sigh.
"Let's go home," Jaemin told him, surprising him when he carried him in his arms bridal style "If you like me enough"
"Words aren't my forte lately," Jisung sighed, and for the first time in the last two days, he knew that the words that would leave his mouth weren't something he would regret. "I don't like you because I'm in love with you."
Jaemin looked at him, slightly surprised, he was disheveled and looked at Jisung with those dark eyes, but he could only feel warm, and then Jaemin smiled brightly, definitely the most beautiful smile on earth.
"I can't say that I'm surprised," he said then raising his eyebrows, Jisung made a little face in disbelief at the way he said that "Me too, I'm in love with you"
“Do you want to go on a date with me?" Jisung asked, letting the words out without wanting to hold them "Friday after school, I would ask you for a weekend but we would have to invite Eunchae"
“I accept,” Jaemin smiled even more, Jisung imitated his smile and tightened his grip on Jaemin's shoulders as he walked “I would love to go on a date with you”
"And now? Would you stay at my house?" Jisung said, well, maybe he should start trying to stop his words again "Would you like to make out in my room?" yep, definitely.
“We have to fix that loose tongue,” Jaemin said with a laugh, looking at Jisung with narrowed eyes, embarrassing him, “But, the idea seems good to me”
Jisung smiled so much that he had to cover his face with one of his hands out of embarrassment, he knew that Jaemin was strong enough to carry him as if he weighed nothing, Jisung noticed that he had messed Jaemin up a bit with his blood, but he doubted he cared, and then he just kept a comfortable silence.
That was until after thinking about what had happened that night he had a realization.
"Wait a second, when I detransformed… was I naked?!” Jisung widened his eyes looking at Jaemin, who gave him an awkward square smile and looked away, Jisung felt his face burn "Oh my god!"
.
Jisung was smiling as he took Jaemin's hand, who was ordering their drinks, comfortably on their first date, when he suddenly felt a touch on his shoulder and turned around.
"Hey! What did I miss?" In front of him was Ningning, smiling and ignorant, Jisung looked at her confused and then laughed, disconcerting the poor girl "What happened?"
