Chapter 1: The Arrival of Shadows

Chapter Text

The dim lights of the Landing Pod flickered to life as you gradually regained consciousness. A strong sense of purpose filled you as you scanned the compartment, eyes landing on your fellow drones, F and L, lying dormant beside you in Standby Mode.

The Landing Pod hummed with anticipation, the metallic walls enclosing all of you, ready to unleash their deadly cargo upon the unknown exoplanet below.

Your memory banks quickly accessed the mission briefing - a haunting reminder of your purpose. You were a part of a new breed of Disassembly Drones, sent by JCJenson to take care of the former, now rogue batch of Disassemblers on Copper 9.

Your directive was clear: kill without mercy, without hesitation.

The sounds of mechanical whirs and the droning fluorescent lights surrounded you as your senses booted up. The eerie glow of control panels and the low hum of the spaceship's machinery filled the air. You sat in your recharging pod, waiting for the program to finalize the slow loading process.

Rising from your charging pod, your metal joints clicked and creaked as you stretched your arms. Your memory banks continued to replay JCJenson's orders, a mission etched into your circuits with unwavering clarity: ‘ Dismantle the former Disassembly Drones, eradicate any Worker Drone colonies, and do so with ruthless efficiency. ’ Loyalty to JCJenson was your one-and-only purpose, and you reveled in it.

F and L stirred, awakening from their slumber. You locked your neon-yellow eyes with F’s, noticing his curious gaze flickering about the compartment, eager to explore.

“Stay focused,” you hissed, the sharp tone of your voice a reminder of the gravity of your mission. “No time for distractions,” you watched F’s back straighten as he apologized immediately.

“Yes, ma’am,” F offered meekly, averting his gaze to his metallic hands. L nodded, always one to obey without question. You took pleasure in their obedience and fear. It was a sign of loyalty, and it was what drove your team of elite Disassembly Drones.

The Landing Pod's intercom crackled to life, and a metallic voice echoed through the vessel. "Approaching Copper 9. Prepare for landing and execute your mission with ruthless efficiency. Failure is not an option."

Your circuits sparked with anxiety. Landing the pod was a skill you guys were never taught; it was a dangerous task that often led to catastrophic results. The pod shook violently as it descended onto the barren surface, the impact jolting the drones within.

“Brace yourselves!” You commanded as you gripped the control panel, desperately trying to ease it. The landing was rough, but not fatal, and the pod skidded across the rigid terrain, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. “We'll have to find another way to get back,” You muttered to yourself, knowing that the Landing Pod would be left in ruins.

“Rise and shine,” you whispered, the anticipation and uncertainty coursing through your circuits. The doors of the Landing Pod opened, revealing the desolate landscape of Copper 9. You stepped outside the pod, one foot at a time. You steadied yourself against the dilapidated spaceship, taking in the view of the snowy wasteland.

The scene revealed the haunting remains of many, many Worker Drones. You frowned. This sight only further fueled your resolve to eradicate any trace of rebellion. Without hesitation, you led the way, your wings ready to strike with deadly precision.

You and your squad had arrived, hidden within the shadows, ready to impose JCJenson's will upon the frozen wasteland. You, F, and L stood together as a frightening trio, a force to be reckoned with. Your loyalty to the company was absolute and unwavering, and your devotion? Unyielding.
