Chapter Text
Grian had been friends with Jimmy & Joel for as long as he could remember.
From playing with a kick ball they found in a Dumpster, To Stealing from any rich person who found their way to the grimy downtown streets of Sleepy City, to helping him evacuate an Orphanage that was attacked by someone with Pig shifting abilities.
It’s just been Him and The Boys.
The Boys and him.
They soon named themselves The Bad Boys
And then the amount of Bad Boys grew
From Jimmy, Joel, and Grain
To Bdubs, Mumbo, grian, Joel, and Jimmy.
As their group kept growing. Grian was having an amazing ttime helping distribute necessities throughout the gang and to people outside it. It felt like his life now had a larger purpose than survival.
Some might have called it pitiful or sad but, Grian felt like he could take on anything!
That was until The Bad Boys got tangled up in something much larger than they originally thought.
It was supposed to be a simple job.
The Bad Boys food fund was running low and it was supposed to be very low risk.
Grian and Jimmy sidled up to the door they were tasked to guard. While the building they were in look quite rundown the slick metal doors looked pristine and well-kept. Joel had been left to guard the Bad Boy Base because even though Grian was the leader he had to admit his friend was more responsible than he was, not to mention Joel’s power was the most offensive out of everyone’s. With Joel’s ability to turn into a muscular, greener version of himself Grian was sure he made the right decision to leave him at homebase. Grian’s wings twitched nervously as he gazed out at the dilapidated building. A million thoughts raced in his head scenarios on how to get Jimmy out of the building if disaster struck. Jimmy didn’t have any powers that the others knew of so Joel and Grian took it upon themselves to protect and look out for him.
The evening was calm for the most part,
The occasional scurry of rats would sometimes put them on edge but their night was full of guarding the door, fiddling with their thumbs, and kicking the occasional pebble.
Grian was just about to fall asleep when he heard a loud * C R A S H* from deeper in the building. He and Jimmy stood up with a jolt and grabbed for their weapons. Grian’s feathers puffed out defensively teetering on whether to fight or grab Jimmy and fly back home. Scenario after scenario danced in Grian’s head
What if they go for Jimmy?
What should I do if my wings end up damaged?
Did I just hear gunshots?
They could knock us right out of the sky!
Grian took a deep breath as he collected his thoughts. Is job was to protect the door so, that’s what he was going to do.
