Work Text:
Twilight had been doing her rounds in Ponyville, trying to keep everything finalize and ordered for the Princesses arrivals. She was stressing, it was obvious. Every Pony knew to stay out of her way. Even Spike distanced himself with his friend when she started to mumbled.
Twilight sighed heavily, holding a roll of paper, the posters still hadn't been created yet, she looked above to see Derpy painting the roof on town hall.
She shouted. "Derpy!"
The woman above was startled, her wings flapping hard as she dropped a pale of paint, she looked down, as she smiled, landing with unsteady feet, before standing at attention.
"Hey Princess Twilight!" She looked towards the roof. "I'm almost done with it, I just wanna get under all the tiles.",
Twilight gave a nod, handing over the scrolls. "Here, I need you to paint a welcome sign for tomorrow, I need you to go all out. Okay?"
Derpy took the scrolls, examining it. She gave a thumbs up. "Ill have them ready by tomorrow!" With that the cross eyed woman flapped her wings taking flight.
Twilight waved to her before she went back to her journey, checking off everything for tomorrow's events, as she glossed over her list once more, she spotted red lettering.
"Fireworks?" Twilight squinted.
"Shit, shit!" She started to make a run down to the east side of PonyVille, even as people called to her, she had to shout she'd be right back, she panted out as she finally made her way infront of the shop, seeing it was close.
"No!" Twilight hissed out, as she flexed her wings, a hand coming to run through her hair, she looked around, only to bump into Tempest.
Tempest dropped whatever she had in the box, as she looked surprised. Twilight let out a gasp.
"Sorry!- wha- Tempest! Oh thank goodness your here." She said with relief, kneeling down to pick up the gunpowder and coloring up for the woman above.
Tempest grinned, kneeling down and grabbing the glass jars of color as well, throwing them back into the box. "Hey Princess, been a while, what are you doing so far into PonyVille?" She asked.
Twilight had bit the inside of her cheek before raising to her feet, taking in Tempest. "I just-" She started.
She looked away. "I needed to pick up some fireworks for tomorrow's ceremony- I was just.." She paused again.
"I need a box of fireworks." She blurted out.
Tempest let out a soft chuckle. "Well why didn't you say so? I just created a new batch this morning. " She grabbed the keys out of her pocket, opening the door and letting Twilight inside.
Once Tempest came in, she placed the box of fireworks down, looking at Twilight.
"I've got a few drying in the back, you'd have to come back for them in the morning. But then again I can speed up the process, but I'd need some time." Tempest said, as she moved towards her work bench Twilight following.
Twilight nodded. "I just need one box, enough for the Wonderbolts to do their show." Twilight moved her hair behind her ear, looking up at Tempest as she looked through the many boxes.
"Any colors?" She asked.
"No, anything you have right now." Twilight responded.
"Hrmm.." Tempest picked up a firework from the box, examining it, before she used her horn to pull a box from the back, and opened it.
Twilight looked at the broken horn. She always found it fascinating, how a person could live without their horns, wings, or strength, it was beyond Twilights thought. But Tempest- she beat all odds.
"Alrighty Princess, I've got these, a 5 multicolor fireworks, one gives off 4 shots, and it should be enough for your show." Tempest looked at her as Twilight quickly looked down at the box catching herself from staring.
But it was already too late.
"What are you staring at Princess?" She teased.
"My horn? I know your very particular with things, and I can see it in your eyes. You've probably got alot of questions running through your mind about how I'm still able to use it." Tempest laughed.
Twilight looked away. "N-no I just.."
She looked back at Tempest. "You know what? Y-yes.. I do have a fascination with your horn. A-anyways-!" She quickly said.
"How much do I owe you?"
Tempest leaned against her work bench. "A kiss."
Twilight felt her face redden up, Tempest could only laugh but it was clear Twilight didn't understand the joke, instead she grabbed the taller face, pulling her in for a kiss.
Tempest eyes went wide.
After a moment Twilight looked down and away, blushing hard.
Tempest let out a short laugh, before placing her hands on her hips. "Well it was supposed to be a joke, they are actually on the house... but it would be pretty rude of me not to reciprocate for the Princess of Friendship..",
With that Tempest grabbed her face, looking at her closely, as they back up slowly into the work bench.
A bump and an oh fell from Twilights lips, yet Tempest repositioned herself, her hands coming around the princess face, her thumbs pressed against her cheeks as their lips met.
Her tongue prodded against Twilights lips.
Twilight was definitely flushed, feeling hot, very hot. She opened her mouth, allowing acess for Tempest. The taller woman leaned down as her other hand pressed back against the work table, leaning more down towards Twilight, trapping her in.
Twilight moaned into the kiss when she felt Tempest touch the small of her back. Both surprised Tempest drew back.
Twilight quickly looked up, embarrassed, as she licked her lips.
"I-i.. uh- that wasn't supposed to come out..-" She was about to ramble, but Tempest could only grin.
"Hey, it's okay Princess.. your definitely touched starved. Your very sensitive." She commented. Her other hand pressed back against the work bench, kissing against Twilights neck, moving down to place a kiss at the center of her chest.
She took a deep breath before pulling away. "I know you have to get back to your Princess Duties..." She adjusted, and buttoned back Twilights second button to keep her modest.
"But, you should definitely come over again.. I'd like to continue my ventures." Those words fell off her lips like honey.
Twilight's wings flexed, as she took in Tempest, how gentle the woman was with her. "I.."
She bit her lip, nodding.
Tempest smiled once more. "And stop stressing about the Princesses.." She said softly, leaning back in to press a loving kiss against her lips.
"I was fortunate enough to talk with them many moons ago.. they seem rather relaxed in my eyes." Her hand moved to wrap a lock of Twilights hair in her finger. "You shouldn't be stressing about that.."
Twilight grumbled. "I know.." She Spilled. "I know.. I know I shouldn't- I just.. everything has to be perfect, I need everything presentable.. the many disasters PonyVille had in preparation for the Princesses arrivals has been.. well- too many for me to count."
She leaned against Tempest, a step from her more professional approach, her eyes showing more of Love for the taller woman.
"Tonight.. stop by the palace?" She questioned, Tempest raised a brow.
"Your inviting me over Princess?" She asked.
"You could say that..." Twilight chuckled, as she felt her awkwardness finally flush away. Though- the thought of Tempest tangled in her sheets, against her, it made her mind race.
Tempest erupted with soft laughs, as she placed another kiss against Twilights lips before finally pulling away.
"Okay, now run along, I'm sure I herd Pinkie on the other side of town already shooting off her party canons."
And Tempest was right, as they listened another Canon went off. Twilights sighed, smiling and shaking her head.
"Ill see you soon.. yes?", Twilight asked grabbing the box and kissing Tempest cheek, before finally leaving.
She felt her face flush, as she sped walk fast and out of that side of town towards the sound of Party Canons.
Tempest chuckled, leaning against the stores door, as she watched Twilight sped away.
Something about Twilight Sparkle made Tempest gears grind, not in a bad way of course.. but a good way. A nerdy woman who had her priorities set of making the world a better place, while Tempest a war criminal/war hero, owning a firework shop.
That as a headline, would be funny. Thought Tempest.
