Chapter Text
"Honey, look out we have twins," the man said as he carried 2 newborn babies in his arms. He strode over to his wife and revealed to her the babies.
"aww, they are so cute," she said as her eyes turned red. The man knew what was going to occur. The wife has always had complications with childbearing. she's had 2 miscarriages up until this point. the Doctors advised her to get an abortion but she rejected saying, 'It wouldn't be right to take the lives of my kids'. The father was reluctant to agree but it was her decision.
"do you feel okay honey, both children are male," the father said. The mother nodded.
"yes I'm okay," she assured. She then started coughing violently.
"let's name the children Takryona and Takryota," the mother said weakly. The father then hugged the children before putting them down. He then walked over to the mother and grabbed her hand as she was dying.
"Please, don't go. We're just getting started with our family" he said with tears in his eyes. She smiled and caressed his cheek lovingly, "It was my choice to do this to myself. I know you'll miss me and love these kids, it will give you peace of mind". She said weakly. The father then broke down.
"I love you," he said. the mother smiled back.
"I love you more," she said as she started coughing more violently. She started throwing up blood and later she eventually died. The father was devastated. He let out a yell before crying on the bed. The Doctors finished cleaning the babies and brought them to his father after he was done weeping over the loss of someone he loved.
He looked at Takryona and Takryota and smiled. He didn't have the chance to start with the one he loved, but he promised he'll protect his newborn children.
Years passed since then and they were now 14. Takryona and Takryota are getting ready for the first day of their new public Curriculum academy. Their father has been overprotective of them until this point, not letting them leave the house until now.
"Now boys remember, don't follow anyone always be yourself," he said helping Takryota dress. They both rolled their eyes.
"yeah yeah," they both said in sync. the father sighed.
"your mother would be so proud to see what you two have become," he said admiring how his children had grown. They were so handsome and well-mannered. They also did well in school. They lived on the Literature Curriculum and ranked very high in their classes.
Takryona smiled.
"I hope your right, I wouldn't want to let her down," he said doubtfully. He felt responsible that his mother was gone. if he wasn't born, maybe she would still be alive today. The father chuckled. He ruffled his son's hair fondly, smiling. He gave the last-minute instructions one last time before they walked out the door. They headed straight towards the Academy building. This wasn't like regular school. You now lived at the academy not seeing your parents unless it's for visits.
Takryota looked at his older twin brother
"do you believe our mother would be here if we weren't born," Takryota asked sadly. Takryona smiled sadly.
"I do, but she gave birth to us for a reason. I just wish she made the right choice instead of birthing us" Takryona said truthfully. Takryota sighed.
"you're so grim, lighten up alright," Takryota said trying to cheer Takryona up and it slightly worked. minutes later they reached the dorm. They saw way more females than males. mostly because the school used to be an all-girls school, but it changed just last year.
"wow, there are more girls here than I expected," Takryona said surprised. Takryota smiled smugly and looked at Takryona.
"aww is my big brother afraid of being rejected," Takryota said teasingly. Takryona's cheeks flushed red immediately.
"h-hey, I'm not going to ask any of them out," he said flustered.
"Whatever you say Takryona " Takryota said winking. They made their way to the entrance where they were greeted by another student. She was tall and had long lilac hair. Her eyes were narrow and had a dominant presence. she wore a red uniform with a black skirt and brown shoes. she looked at the twins.
"Welcome, I'm Litt Karrie, are you two new students," she asked looking at the twins.
They both nodded nervously as it was their first time speaking with anyone other than their father.
"what's your name" she questioned. Takryona spoke first. He spoke in nervous pauses but got his point out. Takryota spoke next confidently.
Litt chuckled at their introductions and told them to meet in her dorm.
After she walked off, Takryota had his attention caught by a poster. It was advertising food.
"Takryona, I hope you don't get mad that I leave you because I'm starving," Takryota said before dashing into the lunchroom. Takryona sighed and walked to Litt's dorm. When he got there she was reading a book. When he entered she smiled and put the book away.
"oh hey there Takryona, was it?" she asked Takryona nodded nervously. The thought of being isolated with a girl was strange enough for him.
"so wanna spend time, or do you want to leave as fast as possible," Litt said teasingly. Takryona didn't know what she meant, but he didn't want to sadden Litt, so he decided to stay. Litt chucked at his answer.
"fine, pervert," she said as she sprung up off her bed and pinned him against a wall.
"hey what are you doing," Takryona asked shyly.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you," she said with a mischievous smile on her face.
"I was just teasing you, degenerate," she said normally. Takryona think she was doing more than teasing.
"c'mon, I'll show you to our classroom, you are also studying sentence structure like me right," she asked curiously.
"erm, yeah," Takryona said nervously. later they made their way to the classroom. It was full and only missing a teacher.
"I won't be in class today because I have to run errands but your seat is next to mine got it," she said bossily. Takryona nodded and Litt smiled before leaving.
"oh yeah, and that blonde girl in the back, avoid her she's, could get you killed," Litt said cryptically. Takryona immediately looked for a blonde girl and saw a girl with her head down. She had the most miserable expression on her face and sat at the back of the room. Takryona decided to walk to her. Many of the students stopped what they were doing to see him talk to her.
"Hey, are you alright," Takryona said softly. She looked up and saw who it was.
"um hi," she said shyly.
"Can I sit here?" Takryona asked while pointing behind him at the desk. She nodded and moved to make space for him. Takryona sat down and noticed how small she seemed. She was petite and adorable.
"you sure you're okay," he asked again.
I'm fine thank you." she said quietly while avoiding eye contact.
"come on, you have to tell me your name. I'm Takryona" Takryona introduced himself.
"Kiara," she said softly. Takryona smiled at her response.
"that's cute" he complimented. Kiara blushed a little. She then looked at the ground embarrassed.
"Thanks" she mumbled, looking away from him.
Takryona smiled.
"Why don't you sit in the front with everyone else," he asked her. Kiara looked to her side.
"is it because you're better back here," he said trying to find an answer.
"Why do you care," she said sounding angry and sour.
Takryona gulped knowing he hit a sore spot.
"I just thought that it would be nice to talk with someone, you look kinda lonely over here," he said truthfully. Kiara then frowned.
"I don't need friends especially one as weak as you," she said
bitterly and turned her head away. Takryona felt bad, but he couldn't help it, he didn't want her to hate him.
Takryona wanted to talk to Kiara, but he knew he needed to respect her wishes to be left alone.
"Oh, okay then, sorry if I offended you," he said with tears forming in his eyes. He then sat down and put his head down on his desk. Murmuring from the students grew as they saw the scene unfold.
"poor kid, he was only trying to help," a student said.
"but he doesn't seem too bright either, does he" another student added.
"and what does he want anyway?" the last student scoffed "he probably thinks he can charm people with his good looks and sweet talk"
Takryona bit his lip. His heart broke at their words. Life was crueler than he could ever think.
Hours passed and his younger brother Takryota was laying in bed.
"oh, I'm so full," he said he then looked at Takryona who was still sad.
"what's your problem," he asked blatantly. Takryona looked at him and jumped embarrassingly.
"oh, nothing is wrong" he lied.
"Whatever Takryona" Takryota said lying back first. Takryona then walked out of the dorm and went to get some fresh air. He walked out of the dorm and went to go to the garden. When he went there he picked flowers that made him regain his composure. He slowly closed his eyes and rested.
After some time passed, he woke up from commotion a group of students were crowding over an area and he saw Litt in the center. She was standing there like she was waiting for something. Not too long after, students were dragging a bruised Kiara. Takryona started to interfere but didn't know if that was the best choice of action yet. After they dragged her to Litt, she then stepped on her face.
"Please let me go," Kiara said weakly. Litt only smiled before putting more pressure on Kiara's face.
"you must not think I heard what you did to poor Takryona," she said angrily.
"I didn't mean... I just..." Kiara tried to plea but Litt wasn't hearing any of it. She lifted Kiara's frail body and landed a heavy strike to her gut. It knocked all the wind out of Kiara and she fell to the ground crying.
"This torture session ain't over," Litt said as she took a metal pipe out of her bag.
"no, not that please," Kiara said begging for mercy. Takryona couldn't take it anymore and ran out to stop this before it gets worse
"Takryona " Litt said surprised
"Please stop this, I beg you, Litt," Takryona said nicely.
Litt glared at Takryona annoyed.
"I told you not to speak with this trash," Litt said angrily as she and her friends walked away, leaving Kiara and Takryona alone. Takryona then looked at Kiara who was sitting with her head down.
"Kiara, I'm sorry this happened," Takryona said Kiara ignored him.
"you must be hungry here, have my lunch," Takryona said taking a sandwich and water bottle out of his bag. Kiara's head stayed hung as she ignored him again.
"Please, eat okay. I'm worried about you." Takryona said. Kiara then raised her head and took a slice of the sandwich.
They then got up and walked to a bench to talk
"I'm sorry for yelling at you. it was the only thing I can think of, so you wouldn't be bullied either. I also hate seeing people cry, so me yelling at you was really hard" Kiara confessed quietly. Takryona then gasped quietly.
"what do you mean," Takryona asked.
"The reason nobody is my friend is because they believe they would be bullied by Litt and her friends too, so I don't have friends because I don't want them to suffer like me" she confessed tearing up.
"She has been bullying me for years and it's starting to get more violent each day. If you didn't show up..." Kiara started to train. Takryona then hugged her.
"Kiara, it's okay, you won't have to suffer anymore," he said. those words hit Kiara like a truck and she broke down into loud cries. Takryona didn't know what to do but just hold her as she cried and sobbed uncontrollably, letting herself be vulnerable. In this instance, he felt all of the torture she went through for years. As he hugged her frail body, he felt protective.
"I'll be here as long as you want," he said as she clung to him tightly. She then nodded.
"no, I don't want to keep you from doing more important things than protect me, so I'll be going," she said breaking from the hug. As her cheeks then flushed red, she stood up and turned to Takryona.
"Thanks for helping me," she said shyly. Takryona smiled.
"Don't worry about it, I'm always happy to help you when you need it," he said genuinely. Kiara gave Takryona a small smile before running off.
