"Sanemi."
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
Mumbled giyū. The man was currently on his husband's lap. The two were sitting in the engawa, the moon being the only source of light for them.
Giyū was tracing his lover's scars, both the old and the new. He loved them all equally. Sanemi was far too perfect for his own good.
"For what?"
Asked sanemi. He had his arms wrapped around the ravenette's waist, giving it a gentle squeeze every now and then. The moonlight shined on giyū, making him seem far more ethereal than normal, not that sanemi was complaining.
The two of them have been sitting there for quite a while now and by some point, the two had pulled down their yukatas to admire each other's scars.
"Everything."
Giyū whispered back as he leaned forward to gently place a small kiss on the large scar on sanemi's face, the one that went over his nose.
"You're a fool."
Sanemi snorted, the back of his hand tracing the scars on giyū's back. Sanemi remembered each and everyone of giyū's scars, if anybody were to take a test on him, he'd pass with flying colours.
"The fool you fell for."
Giyū teased back slyly, he loved teasing his lover, he loved seeing sanemi's usual scrunched up and angry expressions change into something softer, something more delicate.
"It's your fault for being able to sneak into people's hearts."
Sanemi gently poked his husband's forehead, pulling him away just a bit which made his beloved chuckle. If somebody were to ask sanemi if he'd ever like giyū years back, he'd say no. But after giyū's real personality began to shine through his cold facade, sanemi eventually opened up as well before falling deeply in love with him.
Giyū laughed, wrapping his arm around sanemi's shoulder as he hung his head low, his bangs covering his face as he collected himself.
Sanemi could feel his heart beating in his ears, hearing giyū laugh was truly melodic, he felt like the luckiest person alive to be able to witness something so rare and beautiful.
Sanemi wrapped his arms around giyū, pulling him closer as he began to laugh as well. Eventually the two fell backwards, just before sanemi hit the hard wooden floor, giyū swiftly moved his hand from sanemi's shoulder to the back of his head in a protective manner, making sure he didn't accidentally get hurt.
Giyū rolled to his side, resting his head on sanemi's arm. One leg laid on top of sanemi's and his arm hugging him by the side.
Eventually the laughter died down and the two men stared up at the skies, now admiring the stars and the moon in silence, that is until giyū decided to break it.
"Sanemi?"
Giyū called. Sanemi hummed I'm response, glancing over at his lover who was still staring at the night sky.
"When we die..I hope we get reborn and we meet again. Next time, we don't fight. I want to be with you in my next life as well."
Sanemi stared at his lover, his eyes slightly widened. His cheeks dusted with a light pink as his gaze softened and a smile formed on his lips.
"Yeah, I hope that too giyū. I want to be with you in every lifetime."
He'd lean down to kiss his lover on the top of his head which emitted a giggle from his lover.
Yeah. He wouldn't mind being with him. Let's hope that's what fate wants for him aswell.
