Work Text:

Giyū's ears perked up at the sound of light pitter patter hitting the large glass doors that led to the balcony.

He slowly sat up,his tail swaying from one side to the other as he looked at the balcony door. It was now night time, the sun was long gone from when he had fallen asleep.

He glanced towards the kitchen with sleepy eyes, he could hear the water running, meaning sanemi was washing the dishes.

The black cat let out a small meow to let both his owner as well as lover know that he had finally awoken.

He hopped off the couch and began to make his way towards the kitchen, he quickly spotted his lover by the sink, the man was putting away a few plates but had stopped when giyū began rubbing against his leg.

"You need to stop falling asleep in that form, idiot, it's hard to wake you up."

Chuckled sanemi. Giyū thought it was silly, this form was cute, maybe that's why his boyfriend had difficulty waking him up.

He took a few steps back before transforming himself back into a human. He'd look at his body then at sanemi, raising a brow.

"Better?"

"Much."

Sanemi then walked towards his boyfriend, wrapping his arms around the waist as he pulled him close for give him a gentle kiss on the lips.

Giyū smiled, wrapping his arms around his lover's neck as he happily kissed him back, melting into it.

The two latched onto each other for a minute or so before pulling away with a gasp for air. They smiled at each other before giyū pointed towards the balcony with his head.

A grin grew on the shorter man's face as he watched sanemi shake his head, already knowing what his lover had in store for them both.

"You know you want to."

"I don't, god— you should've stayed asleep."

Sanemi scoffed as giyū laughed and grabbed sanemi's hand, leading him towards the maindoor. The two quickly put on some flip flops before giyū dashed outside of the house, popping his ears and tails out of nowhere.

The albino man could only sigh as he locked the door behind him, chasing after his childish lover.

"It's only a bit of rain."

Yelled out giyū as he ran through the empty streets, the streets lambs being the only source of light excluding the moon.

Sanemi rolled his eyes, his hair and clothes now beginning to cling to his body. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of his lover spinning around with his arms wide out.

Unfortunately for giyū, that was his mistake because sanemi sped up the moment he saw him distracted and picked him up by the waist before he could process anything.

"The rain was never the issue. You are"

"You love it."

"I love 𝘺𝘰𝘶."

The two stayed in place, staring into each other's eyes as time seemed to have slowed down.

Eventually giyū hopped out to sanemi's dismay, smiling at him as he began to walk, this time hand in hand with sanemi beside him. Everything about this felt so peaceful, it was as if it was just the two of them.

Giyū swayed his tail as he walked, his ears occasionally twitching every time he heard a particularly large water droplet hit the ground.

The two lovers walked together hand in hand to the end of the street, surprising themselves. They didn't expect to arrive all the way here, now they had to go home or else they'd surely get sick.

Giyū turned to sanemi with a grin as his lover rolled his eyes and lowered himself.

"If this was your plan to begin with, you should've just stayed home you asshole."

Sanemi huffed as giyū got on his back with a giggle. He wrapped his arms around giyū's thighs, steadying him before beginning to walk.

"I remember the first time I dragged you into the rain, you yelled at me and told me you'd never let me ride on your back."

"Oh yeah? Maybe that's because I had no plans on getting wet that day."

"Nor today, so why?"

"Because I love you. That's why. The answer's simple, get it in your stupid head.."

"..and because I enjoy it, aswell"

Sanemi lowered his head, a light blush adorning his cheeks as he slowed his steps.

Giyū cocked a brow at this, a grin growing as he transformed back into a cat and hopped off sanemi's back, startling him. He began to run in front of him again with a sticked out tongue, teasing his beloved again.

Sanemi sighed as he walked behind his lover, admiring him as he watched him detransform again and become human once again. God did he love watching him transform, it was almost like something from movies.

Giyū spotted their house not too far off so he laid down on the ground. Sanemi followed, rolling his eyes for what may have been the hundredth time this night. He laid down beside his lover, resting his hands on his chest as he finally caught his breath.

"The moon..it looks beautiful tonight, no?"

Sanemi turned to the side to look at giyū. He too had hair sticking to his face and his white full sleeved shirt now covered absolutely nothing and he had a stupidly beautiful smile on his face, his cheeks dusted with pink.

It was just like the night giyū had confessed to him.
The two were under the rain, laying on the grass on their backs in the park. Giyū had at some point said those exact words before clasping his hand to his mouth, slowly turning towards sanemi with wide eyes. Sanemi can never forget that memory and clearly, neither could giyū.

"It does. Very beautiful."

He says back, staring at giyū the whole time. He watched as giyū's expression changed from a soft expression to a more flustered one as he realised he was never talking about the moon in the first place.

Giyū playfully hit his lover on the arm as he let out a breathy laugh.

"Shut up"

Sanemi sat up, followed by giyū. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before leaning in to kiss, not bothered with who was watching.

Once they parted, the two rested their foreheads against each other.
Sanemi doesn't mind having to deal with giyū dragging him into the rain every once in a while as long as he has him in his arms by the end of it all.

Maybe normal cats don't like water but if giyū likes it, he will too.
