Caelus groaned in pain, his arm wrapped around his stomach. It was morning and he was supposed to head to the dining car for breakfast. The Astral Express had departed from it's previous destination last night as they were making their way to a new planet.
The planet they had just departed from had held a huge feast in their honor and Caelus regretted not listening to Himeko and going overboard in the feasting and celebrating. Now his stomach panged in protest.
After a few more minutes of rolling around Caelus decided to go see Pom-Pom in the med bay. It's embarrassing, yes, but at least this stupid pain would be over. Quickly changing into his most comfortable pair of clothing he slowly made his way to the med bay.
An arm still wrapped around his aching stomach Caelus shuffled in the med bay. To his surprise he found March sitting in a chair there getting something checked out by Pom-Pom. Upon closer inspection, she looked like she hadn't slept in two days. He hair was messy and she had dark circles under her eyes.
"Hey, what's up? You look terrible." Caelus joked at the girl who was almost akin to a younger sister to him now. March gave him a dirty look before shooting back, "You're not one to speak, you look worse than me."
"Wait, do I?" Caelus lowered himself into another chair next to March. He brought his knees to his chest as he groaned in pain, getting a look of worry from March.
"What seems to be the problem, Caelus?" Pom-Pom turned to him, holding a kit of supplies.
Caelus looked embarrassed as he looked away. "Just a little stomach pain, nothing much..." March snickered next to him. "Should have listened to Himeko. Then you won't be in this mess. I told you this was gonna happen."
Caelus groaned in protest at her teasing as Pom-Pom held some device near his wrist to take his vitals. "Hmm..." Pom-Pom said, "Do you feel nauseatic?"
"No, just pain." Caelus answered honestly as March slid away from him, scared he might throw up. Caelus elbowed her as she slid back after hearing that.
"Well, Caelus." Pom-Pom continued, "You are running a fever. I think you and March caught something back on the previous planet."
"Wait, so I caught it from March? Ha, I knew it wasn't because of the feast." Caelus said smugly, "I knew I ate responsibly."
"In what universe is THAT considered responsible?" March muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes. A coughing fit took over her as Caelus look at her, worried.
"Hmm... I think it's called Lily fever. It's mostly harmless, a variation of flu highly contagious among people younger than 20 years of physical age. Since you two's bodies are quite young, you might have just caught it from around somewhere and spread it to each other."
"So, it's your fault" Caelus muttered to March. "Or yours." She muttered back.
"Please pay attention." Pom-Pom continued, "Since we have already warp jumped we cannot return for medicine. Even without any medicine you'll recover by your own means in about 3-4 days so no worries. We have a week before our next destination so take it to recover and relax. Try to eat regularly and get a lot of rest. I'll make changes to the food made for you so don't worry about diet."
"Yes, Doctor Pom-Pom." March saluted, making her and Caelus giggle.
Doctor Pom-Pom sighed. "Okay, now go get some rest. I'll come and check on you two every few hours." Caelus and March both stumbled out of the med bay looking worse for wear.
"Hey," March said. "Let's stay in the same room. That way we can look out for each other." Caelus agreed because he knew that March didn't like to be alone for too long, especially not when she's feeling unwell. "Let's go to your room." He said, "I hope you have some good movies on that fancy TV of yours."
"You bet I do." March giggled as the two made their way back to the passenger cart.
