Work Text:
Macaque wakes up to an empty bed with disheveled covers. His cramps were more better than last night, especially since W-
wait.
Speaking of him, where was he?
He wasn't in bed, and Macaque didn't think it was that late.
Macaque started to get up from bed, stretching his arms and legs, and headed for the door out of the bedroom. He went into the main room and saw still no Wukong. He looked at the clock and saw it was close to noon.
It really was late huh?
Macaque thought as he advanced to the door to the outside.
He went through the door and shut it, trying to find Wukong. He could hear distant humming with his ears and could pin where he was.
Wukong was doing his daily 'fruit gathering' that he did way back when Macaque was still part of the Brotherhood. Macaque would sometimes do it but always would oversleep.
Wukong would then just go back to sleep if he wanted the day to be lazy or just wake Macaque up.
"Hey Mac!"
Macaque stream of thoughts got broken when he heard the stone monkey call his name.
He looked up and saw Wukong, not in his normal suit but comfortable clothing like a long sleeve shirt and joggers.
He looked so domestic and cozy which made Macaque think it was cute and blushed a little.
Macaque looked down and toyed with his hands
"Hey.."
He looks up at Wukong and saw his eyes sparkling.
"You feeling any better?" Wukong asked, since of the events of last night.
"Sure." Macaque said shyly, now toying with his long hair.
Wukong thought Macaque look so adorable without his glamour on, which made wukong smile more.
Macaque had curly and thick hair, that he doesn't usually care for.
While Wukong had more of a wavy, more bouncy curly hair.
Macaque was blushing really hard because of what happened the night before, where Macaque forced Wukong to cuddle with him because of his cramps.
"You sure you doing okay?"
Macaque got out of his cloud of thoughts and nodded quickly, following Wukong back into the house where he placed the basket of peaches and bananas on the table.
Macaque went to sit in one of the chairs in the main room. While Wukong stood standing and leaning on the table.
"So im guessing.. you slept pretty good last night huh?" Wukong asked with him scratching his chin.
Not wanting to admit it, he scoffed, "I forgot how annoying you could be"
Wukong chuckles lightly, "looks like you're running out of insults to call me"
"OK how about irritating?" Macaque leaned towards Wukong a little.
"Woah, that's really original '' Wukong does the same, making their faces merely inches apart.
Macaque darts from his eyes to his lips and to his eyes again.
Macaque wishes he could kiss him this moment, just once.
Wukong snickers pulling his face away "to be fair, you were the clingy one."
"I was not." Macaque said offensively.
"Listen, I never said it was bad." Wukong teased and then said quietly "I kinda think its cute" giving a smirk.
"..."
"Fuck off."
"What??" Wukong said really whiny.
"I'm going back to bed."
"Oh come on don't be like that." Wukong said as Macaque got up from his chair, he followed Macaque and wrapped himself around his arm.
"Can you knock it off!" Macaque said, he's entire face blushed, trying to shake him off.
"Aw mac, I was gonna make a banana sandwich for you for lunch." Wukong said as he unraveled his arms from Macaque's.
Macaque paused, he wasn't really mad, just wished Wukong could stop teasing him.
"Ok fine, I'll stay, but I'm not doing it because you asked."
"Uh huh." Wukong said, raising his eyebrows and swayed his hips to the side.
He walked slowly to the pantry to get his stuff out, while the other in the room had his eyes directly at Wukong's hips and waist.
"You want any crust?" Wukong said.
"...oh! Uh yea no crust." Macaque spurted out as his concentration broke.
Wukong went ahead and peeled and sliced the bananas.
"yknow you can just tell me when you are cramping so I can help you with it"
Macaque looked up, his eyes almost filled with hopefulness. "I think I'm alright, that w-"
"Mac we both know you cramp badly regardless of taking pain medication or not."
Macaque was stirred at Wukongs interruption, yea sure, he was a cramper, but he lived on his own long enough to stand it.
He looked back at Wukongs hands opening the jar of mayonnaise.
"I'm here macaque, all you need to do is go in my room or call me."
"yea I know.."
…"then whats the problem." Wukong said gently, not trying to sound forceful.
"Nothing I just… I thought …." He breathes trying not to trample over his words. "I don't want to feel like I'm a chore around here, yknow"
Wukong glanced at Macaque, "did I make you feel that way?"
"No just my head overflows sometimes." Macaque replied ensuring Wukong that he has been doing great with the bond they were having whether it was friends, lovers, whatever.
"You tell me if I do then okay" Wukong said gently and with love as he spread the mayonnaise on the bread.
"Because, both of us, especially me, aren't masters at communication."
Macaque nodded, yea they wasn't, but no one is.
"Plus you really weren't last night." Said Wukong putting a little joke in the serious conversation. He assembled the sandwich and cut the corners off.
" yknow you are really starting to piss me off with that." Macaque said, watching Wukong putting the sandwich on a plate.
"Oh you know I'm never going to drop it." He said slyly, handing him the sandwich, and then sitting with him.
Macaque starting to eat the sandwich. "Woah, look at that, you can actually make something tasty." Macaque said with food in his mouth.
"Wukong looked at him with sassy eyes, "...you're a dick"
"Hey at least I said it was tasty." Macaque murmured.
"Mumumumumu?" Wukong said, replicating the noises Macaque made.
"How about you swallow before you choke." Wukong suggested.
Macaque took the last bite of the sandwich and swallowed, "I still can't believe you don't like those."
"I'm more into peanut butter and jelly sandwiches"
"'Woah, so original," Macaque quoted what wukong said earlier.
Wukong giggled at the little joke, which Macaque joined in too.
"So what day are you on now"
Macaque looked in confusion until he catched on.
"Oh, um, my third." Third day still gave him cramps but not as bad, the second and fourth day is when it hit the hardest.
Wukong looked at the clock, it was two p.m.
"Wow, two hours have already passed." Wukong said, informing Macaque. Macaque was kinda shocked, time goes really fast sometimes huh.
"It's a Sunday, meaning mk isn't coming over and I'm feeling pretty lazy sooo"
Wukong was trying to tell Macaque that he could…
"Soo?" Macaque said, questioning the implications of Wukong's question itself.
"You want…to take… a little nap with lil ol' me?" Wukong said slowly but surely.
Macaque blushed while his ears glowed a bit. He smiled gently, "sure.."
"Nice! I'll make my bed ready!" Wukong said as he zoomed into his room.
Well doesn't he sound excited
Macaque thought as he walked into the room. Watching him make up the bed, tidying pillows and removing extra plushies.
Wukong got done with it and walked up to Macaque. Nodding him forward to come into the bed which Macaque did. Wukong then proceeded to turn the lights off and shut the door.
He shuffled into the covers next to Macaque which was facing the other way, facing the wall. Macaques hair was messy but pretty and his ears were lowered.
Wukong then try to put his arms through Macaques armpits and wrap his arms around his chest.
Wukong was going to ask if this was alright until Macaque relaxed and shuffled his legs and feet to cross with wukong's.
Wukong rested on the pillow, feeling the strands of Macaque's hair.
He felt his eyes lull and go to sleep. Him trying to get out of words of love but failing.
While Macaque wanted to tell him words of love too but indeed knew he was asleep and decided there will be some next time.
Macaque would be the next to drift to sleep. Him lowering his ears more and relaxing more in Wukongs hold.
And soon, the rest of Flower Fruit Mountain fell into a peaceful state.
