Stiles’ stomach sours as she recognizes the werewolf stalking her from across the clearing. “What makes you think I’m alone?” she tries. Stiles glances at the Nemeton between them, rapidly calculating her odds of reaching it before his teeth sink into her neck. The Alpha flashes her a grin, exposing his fangs as he calls her bluff without even pausing his stride. He’s too fast, too close. She’ll never be able to reach the Nemeton before he reaches her.
Or: An exhausted Spark on the verge of dropping runs into an Alpha werewolf in the woods who doesn't want to fight her.
