Chapter Text
Marinette wrapped Adrien’s present and headed off for school.
“Remember to clean your room after school, Bǎobèi,” Sabine reminded her.
“But it’s Friday and I have plans with Alya!” Marinette complained.
“Fine, then I’ll clean your room,” Sabine said. Marinette was just about to thank her when she continued, “Just don’t be surprised if I come across anything private like emails, your diary…”
“Alright! I’ll do it!” Marinette relented.
“Thank you, now have fun at school,” Sabine smiled.
“I will! Happy birthday-Have a nice day, mom!” Marinette stuttered.
Sabine looked confused but let it be.
–
Marinette and Alya sat behind a half wall in front of the school, listening in on Adrien and Nino’s conversation.
“Man, it totally sucks that your dad won’t let you have a party,” Nino complained. “Doesn’t he remember what it was like to party when he was younger?”
“No, I’m pretty sure he was a downer when he was younger too,” Adrien said.
“I’ll just have a talk with your dad then, maybe convince him to let you have a party,” Nino decided.
“I think if you do that, he still won’t change his mind,” Adrien said, softly.
“Come on, girl,” Alya encouraged. “You’ve been stalling all morning, now’s your chance!”
“I can do this, I can do this, I can do this,” Marinette stood up then immediately sat back down. “I can’t do this, I can’t do this, I can’t do this!”
Alya helped Marinette up and said, “Yes…. You…. Can!”
Alya pushed Marinette in front of the two boys.
“Uhm… H-Hi!” Marinette stammered. “I-I got y-you a g-gift a m-make. No, a g-give.”
Chloe then came running, and pushed Marinette out of the way to give Adrien a kiss on the cheek and tell him his gift would arrive that night.
Marinette was about to go back there when Adrien’s car rolled up and he left.
–
Marinette and Alya stood at the gate to Adrien’s house.
Marinette was panicking when Alya just rang the doorbell.
“H-hi, I-I’m Adrien’s classmate, a-and,” Marinette held up the gift.
The camera instructed her to put it in the box and she did, when she realized that she didn’t sign it.
–
Marinette sat on the kitchen counter and was wondering if Adrien liked her gift. Sabine looked confused.
A bubble came up behind her and took her while Marinette screamed for her.
–
“Tikki, spots on,” Marinette said softly, careful to not let anyone hear her.
She transformed into Coccinelle and sped off, after reassuring some kids that she was gonna get their parents back.
Coccinelle looked around for where the Akuma would be, seeing fireworks that exploded into bubbles instead of the normal fire.
Coccinelle swung to where the fireworks were, seeing it was Adrien’s mansion. She saw people dancing, but it looked unhappy, like everyone was forced to be there.
Coccinelle knew what she had to do, she swung her yoyo at the Akumatized person, who she heard someone call Bubbler, and grabbed him.
Bubbler broke free and started to attack Coccinelle with his bubbles. The kids at the party ran, scared for their lives. Some of them got hit with flying food.
“Bubbler! It fucking ends here!” Coccinelle shouted at him.
“Dude, it so doesn’t!” Bubbler countered. He threw more bubbles at Coccinelle, who just barely dodged them.
It was at that moment that Chat Noir finally showed up.
“Sorry I’m late, m’lady,” Chat Noir said as he blocked some bubbles.
“You know, I had it all under control,” Coccinelle replied, popping more bubbles.
“Sure you did, m’lady,” Chat Noir smiled.
Bubbler managed to trap Coccinelle and Chat Noir in a bubble while they were distracted. “Now, hand me your miraculouses before you run out of air!”
“Never, Bubbler!” Coccinelle yelled.
“Well, damn. You should join the adults in the sky then, since you’re a bunch of asses like them!” Bubbler shouted as he ran up to them and bunted them in the sky.
–
The two were kicking at the bubble, struggling to break it and running out of air.
“We have to get out of here fast, or we’re gonna FUCKING die in here!” Coccinelle said, starting to panic when she thought of something. “Chat Noir! Your Cataclysm!”
“Right!” Chat Noir activated Cataclysm and touched the bubble, causing them to fall hundreds of feet.
“Should we see if you land on your feet this time, Kitty?” Coccinelle asked as she looked around for a place to latch on.
“Would rather not find out, m’lady,” he replied.
Coccinelle got an idea, “Chat Noir, your stick!”
She pointed somewhere.
Chat Noir grabbed his stick and threw it at the side of the Eiffel Tower. Coccinelle used her yoyo to wrap around the stick and grabbed Chat Noir.
The two heroes landed and went after the Bubbler again.
–
“Hey, dickhead!” Chat Noir shouted. “Why don’t you come here!”
“The Akuma must be the bubble rod sword!” Coccinelle realized.
The Bubbler started running, towards the Eiffel Tower, throwing bubbles behind him.
They reached the Eiffel Tower and they were in a pickle.
Coccinelle and Cat Noir couldn’t get the bubble rod sword without getting hit with a bubble.
“Now would be a great time for some luck, m’lady,” Chat Noir said, deflecting another bubble.
“Right!” Coccinelle nodded. “LUCKY CHARM!”
Her Lucky Charm revealed an oversized wrench.
“What the fuck am I supposed to do with this?”
“Maybe we’ll win with your outstanding plumbing skills!” Chat Noir suggested.
Coccinelle looked around and formed a plan. She rushed over to an air vent and loosened a vent tube thing.
“Chat Noir! Cover me!” Coccinelle threw the tube thing at him.
“Gotcha, m’lady!” Chat Noir sprayed the forming smoke at the Bubbler while Coccinelle swung away to gain distance and swung her yoyo at the bubble rod sword. The yoyo latched on and she pulled, bringing the sword to her.
Coccinelle smiled in triumph before breaking it over her knee. The akuma flew out and tried to get away.
“Time to de-evilize!” Coccinelle swung the yoyo and captured the akuma. She clicked a button and a white butterfly flew off. “Bye-bye, little butterfly.”
Coccinelle waved at the butterfly before throwing the lucky charm into the air and screaming, “MIRACULOUS Coccinelle!”
A multitude of red particles spread around the city, fixing anything broken and safely returning anyone who was in bubbles to the ground safely. The Bubbler’s costume dissipated, revealing Nino.
“Well, another job well done!” Chat Noir commented.
“Pound it!” The two heroes fist bumped then left to go de-transform as their time limits almost let up.
–
Marinette stood in front of the school, talking with Alya and Nera.
“And then, my little sister pounced on me like she was a cat,” Nera finished up her story when Marinette looked over at the road and saw Adrien wearing the scarf she made him.
“He’s wearing my scarf!” Marinette pointed at Adrien, both of the girls looked over and saw the baby blue scarf around his neck.
“Awww, that’s so cute!” Nera commented.
Nino walked up and complimented the scarf.
“Thanks dude, my dad got it for me, even if he got me the same pen for the last three years,” Adrien said, then looked at him. “I know he said you were a bad influence, but you’re still my best bud.”
“Thanks, dude! And hey, the scarf shows that adults can change,” Nino wrapped an arm around Adrien as they walked into the school.
“Girl, you gotta tell him you made the scarf, not his father,” Alya told Marinette.
“But, he looks so happy about his dad,” Marinette told her. “I don’t wanna ruin that for him.”
“Awww, you’re such a good friend!” Nera bounced, going to hug her. Alya joined in on the hug.
–
Nera’ First Encounter With Marinette
Nera was walking in the park, listening to her music. She was still reeling from the fact that her boyfriend broke up with her. She wasn’t paying any attention to her surroundings, just trying to string all the facts together when she bumped into someone.
They spilled their coffee all over her new shirt.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry!” The girl apologized, frantically. “Here, I’ll buy you a new shirt, or something!”
“Oh, no! It’s fine! Really, I can just wash it,” Nera assured her. “I wasn’t paying attention, anyways. I’ll buy you a new coffee, you look like you need it.”
That statement was true, the girl looked extremely tired.
“Oh! Thank you!” the girl smiled.
Nera smiled too, “I’m Nera, you?”
“Marinette!” the girl introduced herself.
