Chapter Text
Aizetsu never minded being stuck inside Hantengu.
It’s nice…and quiet, for the most part.
Besides the ruffling of feathers, the rustling of baggy clothes, the frustrated growls, and an occasional tap-tap-tap.
Yes, it’s dark. Yes, he’s sitting in silence with the other clones. Yes, he’s bored.
But he rather be in here peacefully and not out there killing something.
That just makes him sad.
Fighting…killing…the other clones (Sekido, mostly) yelling at him. Those things also make him sad.
So, as he said, he doesn’t mind sitting here. In silence. With the other clones.
Except that last part. He kind of minds that, but at least they don’t talk to him.
“Hey, hey~!”
Scratch that.
Karaku looks up excitedly before he grins over at Sekido, his emerald eyes glittering with his excitement, “Hey, we’re going to get to go out soon~. Looks like Hantengu’s gettin’ ready for a fight~!”
Sekido growls, “It’s like you think I’m blind. I can see perfectly, you insolent-“
Sekido and Karaku vanish before Sekido can finish his insult.
“Hahaha! Hear that, Aizetsu?” Urogi asks, and he looks over at Aizetsu with a big, bright yet malicious smile, “Do you think we’ll be able to go out as well this time?!”
Aizetsu sighs and glances at Urogi with his sad sapphire blue eyes, “We weren’t called out last time…or the time before that, or the time before that…what makes you think this time will be any different?”
Urogi’s citrine eyes glow with his given emotion: joy, “Oh, come on, Aizetsu~. Lighten up a bit!”
“…you know I can’t.” Aizetsu replies sadly with a dead pan.
“Still! We might get to go out soon! You never know!” Urogi says with that rough laugh of his, “Oh, I can’t wait to be outside again-“
Aizetsu sighs again, unable to keep the disappointment and discontent off his face as he tunes Urogi out. He doesn’t want to go. Going outside means he’ll have to fight, and get hurt, and there will be blood spewing everywhere…And then he’ll probably have to hears bones crunch and meat squelch as Karaku or Urogi eats whoever they fight.
Aizetsu personally hasn’t ever tasted human flesh. The mere thought saddens him…but then again, everything does. But he doesn’t like the crunching, or the sounds that the meat makes when it’s in another clone’s mouth. It’s so…disgusting, if he had to be honest.
Ah, another thing that separates him from his fellow clones. His dislike towards eating humans. When they all are out, Karaku and Urogi probably eat the most humans, Sekido here and there, Zohakuten only eats humans who will offer them a power boost. Aizetsu?…well, as he said before, he hasn’t tasted human blood or flesh.
Urogi’s voice cuts through Aizetsu’s thoughts like a knife, and the sorrow clone’s attention is drawn back to the joy clone.
“Hey, are you even listening to me-!”
Urogi’s cut off as Aizetsu blinks out of their shared existence.
Hantengu needs them too, apparently.
What a saddening day.
