Work Text:
One of the many reasons they've kept their relationship a secret up till now is that Stephen's never been overly fond of PDA. Tony knows that; respects his boundaries. Most of their touches–innocent or… otherwise–were prompted by Stephen, because Tony wants him to be the one to set the pace.
Once the cat's let out of the bag, however, there's no reason for him and Tony not to be seen together.
Now, walking down the streets together, he doesn't know what to feel about it.
He feels the warm autumn breeze whisk through, watching it play with the fallen leaves. He feels Tony's hand inch closer to his, a brush of fingers for a moment, then hesitance. Stephen isn't sure how to react, but some part of his mind tugs at him to take Tony's hand in his. That part somehow overruled the rest, and he reaches out trembling fingers to tangle them against Tony's, feeling himself redden a bit at his own actions. It's worth it, however, when Tony turns to look at him as if Stephen is his entire world.
Stephen's never been overly fond of PDA, but he'll make it an exception just this time.
