Work Text:
In his hands, a small white flower was used as a stress remedy, accepting its end as fate, as its petals were torn off one by one, and its stem became weaker and weaker in his hands.
In her arms, a calm, almost lulling sensation, made him enjoy the warm time, unable to regret anything between her strong and reassuring grip.
A bit like the game 'loves me, loves me not' the red head played with the flower, as a remedy, while his eyes danced from sunset to the void under his feet.
She made more strength, taking advantage of the moment that he was in her arms, not wanting to let go of him for any reason in the world. She was grateful to be able to hold him against her chest, feel his heartbeat, and feel his warm cheeks against her collarbone.
The sunset was gorgeous. orange, with reddish and white shades. almost like the hypothetical idea of heaven. His feet swayed on the void, like a child impatiently waiting for their parent to talk to the friend found casually on the way. Sitting at the end of a cliff, the wind touched his hair, choosing the direction of where they could flutter, with the sun reflecting his rots in a golden light.
"Can we kind of block this moment forever, like this?" his voice was close to a whisper, as if afraid to raise it as a result of something, and her chuckles sent shivers down his spine.
The petals of the small flower swayed towards the end of the rocks, greeted by the wind that would take them where it believed a flower could rest. Something as traceable as nostalgia kept him company, sitting next to him, with its arm over his shoulders, trying to tell him something he did not know.
"I wouldn't mind, but you never know what the future brings" she copied his whispered tone, trying to bring a dash of positivity into the conversation, but that only led him to deeply think about it again.
The sun was disappearing from his sight, hiding under the distant and eventful sea. The moon unleashed its beauty and its brilliance began to reflect in the light of his gaze. Closing his eyes, he breathed deeply for the sea air. fresh and regenerating.
"it's just for that maybe.." his voice didn't want to continue, finish speaking forever and hope he didn't foresee anything before finishing with the sentence. He dared to look up, hesitantly trying to look for het gaze, already finding her dark eyes above his, waiting "you never know if the future will bring us something beautiful or even worse.."
His eyes opened, feeling something bad, feeling the answer to the sensation at the tip of his tongue, but giving up in trying was easier. The wind had become stronger, heavier, and his time to return had come. He got up from the ground, moving away from the end of the cliff, and warning the second invisible presence that they had to go. At a further blink of an eye, a heartbeat skipped, freezing him on his feet.
"No one will separate us again. Whatever may ever happen, I know you will find me, and I will find you, whatever the reason would be that we cannot be together. I love you Jay Walker" a beautiful feeling grew and gently remained on his chest, creating a weight on his stomach, but not in an unpleasant way.
Like an arrow, his stomach began to burn, feeling a painfully nostalgic sensation bloom all over his body. In the form of chills, his body-hairs rose like a wave, one following the other, and strangely feeling a feeling of wanting to return.
Going back somewhere, where he had no idea, but the desire to go to that somewhere was strong, very strong. What seemed like a memory to be too detailed, made a certain melancholy grow in him, almost jealous of what the couple was feeling in that embrace. The conversation was so tough, but in a way he thought he could understand it, too.
Feeling loved more than ever, he looked up at her again, raising his arms and holding her against him. He was ready to promise to her, repeat the words of love and simply show her how important she was to him even her only presence. But fear, for the first time in this case, had won. and a bad sensation clicked like a bad bitter taste on his tongue.
"I love you" spontaneously came out of his mouth, speaking to the wind and feeling strange, but at the same time satisfied. He had no idea what they were talking about, but her voice was so familiar and calm.
Close, distant, separated, dispersed or without memories. Everything would lead both to the other, like a wave that carried something lost in its clutches to the shore, or a lightning bolt that was so deadly just at one kiss, but that it could light your way for even a few seconds. Either way, he would always love her.
